Journey with me as I open up about my personal and professional hurdles from 2012 to 2024, highlighting the grit required to thrive amid adversity. From paying off student loans and enduring a trying divorce to grappling with financial instability and the demands of single parenthood, my story is a testament to perseverance. Looking to start an affiliate marketing program but don't want to come across as sleazy? Here are tips for how to be an affiliate partner that your teachers will love!

Dos:
Do share valuable information with your audience.

Do offer value content related to the offer you are promoting.

Do give genuine feedback and thoughts.

Do show up with integrity.

Do share your opinions or personal experiences.

Do create a bonus experience.

Don'ts:

Don't blast your offer inside other people's groups.

Don't highjack another affiliate partner's post.

Don't share your link to your general audience if you haven't shown up for them in any other way unless it is with your close friends or if someone asked you for it.

Take-Away:

The key is to be someone that others can trust. Show up consistently through- email, a podcast, a group that offers value, a course, etc.

Most importantly be true to yourself and kind towards others.

60: Growing a Sustainable Business Using Instagram

When you’re just starting out and your email list may be small, it is important to use social media to learn more about your teachers and to attract your community to your message. Choose at least one or two social media platforms that you’ll post to on a weekly basis.

Today Instagram guru Jamie Jasperson talks about Instagram because let’s be real our audience of teachers is already spending time there. Jamie talks about being specific to your brand (the personality of your business). So the bottom line is to be human. Invite your community in, by sharing some personal details. Your community wants to get to know YOU just as much as they want to learn from you.

Jamie offers some really incredible insight into building a brand and using Instagram as a platform to share our message. I hope you stick around.

Making a commitment or a promise to yourself and your business is the only way to ensure success in the long run. Where do you need to commit your time, energy, and your money? Today we are talking about determining the what and making a commitment to getting it done.

What do you do leading up to launching a product in your store? Are you doing those things consistently? The way we show up during a prelaunch runway is the way we want to show up every week for our teachers. This behavior shows who you are and what you have to offer.

Today we talk about the three valuable commitments you need to make:

  1. Show up consistently

  2. Email your teachers weekly

  3. Create a lead magnet that attracts your ideal teacher and grabs their email in exchange for something that will solve their problem.

TRYH-46-Teacherpreneurs Working Through Covid-19

Teacherpreneurs can show up massively during this national crisis. Lisa Van Gemert and I sit down to discuss some options during this time of madness.

One important thing this time has given me is the opportunity to analyzie the systems I have in place.

We are in the middle of it right now and it silumtaniously a crisis and an opportunity.

It’s an opportunity for us to evaluate. Is what we had working for us and is it going to work for us even when it all blows up?

These times make us ask ourselves what skills and tools do I already have? What I didn’t have is some of the other skills. But that is the adjacent possible.

Whatever is going on there will always be subgroups that benefit from what is going on. That is economics.

This is our chance to show Legislatures we don’t need to be burdned with standardized testing. We will lead out. We will lead out for what is best for kids in any situation no matter where we stand. We will stand for kids. We will stand for learning. We can do it, and you can trust us.

We can use this to make ourselves the educators we always wanted to be.

41: The Power of Connecting on Instagram

Connecting to your audience, expanding your reach, and creating meaningful conversations with your people is a huge factor in growing your business. Whichever platform you choose, make sure to keep your goals in mind.

As consumers change in what they want- connections and consistency, we need to find a platform for which to keep up. Jamie Jasperson and I sit down to talk about the benefit of knowing your teachers and building relationships with your people. Jamie recommends Instagram. I personally love podcasting, but I am willing to retry the power of Instagram thanks to this incredible conversation with Jamie. So I’m excited to implement all I learned. So visit me on Instagram.

Instagram: trinadboreetandl

Being consistent is more important than showing up daily on Instagram.

Show up in your stories more often than you show up in your posts.

Don’t stretch yourself so far that you are going to burn out. Find a sustainable growth strategy that will work for you.

Longer captions are finding their way in your posts. Like a mini-blog post.

Your stories are like chatting with your friends. ~Jamie Jasperson

5 Easy Steps for Affiliate Marketing for Teacherpreneurs

Have you considered adding an additional source of income to your business? Affiliate marketing can be the extra money source you are looking for. Recommending products you have used or digital courses you have taken can earn you some extra cash just by promoting and mentioning them in your next blog or podcast.

The win-win effect comes in when you truly believe what you are offering is something of great value to your audience, then they purchase it through your unique link, they get what they need/want, and you get a small commission on the sale. You are doing some of the leg work, but it is something you believe in and would share anyway because the product is so awesome!

This week I am going to share 5 easy steps for affiliate marketing for teacherpreneurs and a little behind the scenes of my partnership with Amy Porterfield’s Digital Course Academy. I hope you’ll join me.

Fulfilling Your Purpose With TpT

Melissa Falkner, a fellow teacherpreneur, shares her journey through teaching and finding a way to stay home with her three sons. Melissa also talks about how she has created her own path with teaching online and selling her resources on TpT, and in turn, she has taken her purpose and shared it globally.

Melissa’s attitude is fantastic. She has a tremendous amount of grit and determination to make the world better for her own children and others around the world. She is on a mission to help parents who face hard roads when their children are delayed or have issues that make learning and traditional schooling more difficult.

Melissa and I also discuss what you can get done when you have a limited amount of time to work on TpT. There is so much to do. Where do you start?

There comes a time on your TpT journey where you realize there is more to creating products then just throwing them up on TpT. There is an abundance of tasks we can take on to stand out in the crowd. But what do you do if you have limited time?

Create quality products!

Write good titles and precise descriptions. (Melissa shares an excellent strategy for finding keywords.)

Make eye-catching covers.

Connect with your audience. (This can be on Instagram, Facebook, blogging, podcasting, but pick ONE if you have limited time.)

Help your audience know who you are. Share your story. Be vulnerable. Our audience WANTS to know us, and those that don’t aren’t our people, and that’s okay.

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone

We are going to talk today about getting out of your comfort zone. And not only being proud of what you do, and owning it but also standing up in front of people and telling people about it. My guest Hallie Sherman is a Speech-Language Pathologist in the New York school system who is here to talk about getting out of your comfort zone. She even spoke at the TpT conference in Austin this year, sharing the importance of being brave and putting yourself out there.

Hallie’s journey began by finding a hole on Pinterest. She was one of maybe ten other speech-language pathologists who were blogging. She then started creating products on TpT, and the rest is history.

Hallie was anonymous for about three years, but she quickly realized that she couldn’t put her voice into things staying silent. She couldn’t build the know, like, and trust you factor by remaining in the background.

As TpT has evolved into being a marketplace that teachers are proud to be a buyer, authors have become more open about who they are and what they do. If Hallie could share one thing, she says-

Be proud of what you have accomplished. Be proud of it and own it. I’m proud of it. I did it. Hear me, roar.

Hallie also offers advice about finding your niche and then realizing when it is time to niche down even further when the marketplace gets crowded. She is a wealth of ideas and indeed, an exceptional person. Take a listen for more.

Today we are going to talk about how we find time to add new things to our business. As an expert in all things teaching, we find making the transition to creating products for our business the relatively easy part. If only there was enough time in the day. Today, I ‘m going to offer you some tips on how to find the time to learn crucial skills for your business.

7 Timesavers to Learning New Things for Teacherpreneurs

Take one thing at a time.

Start with a goal.

The Power of Podcasting A Conversation

Podcasting in your business can be a game changer. As a podcaster you have the ability to speak directly to your audience in a unique and authentic manner. That’s the beauty of podcasting. There is room for everyone and there are also podcasts for everyone.

Podcasting allows teacherpreneurs to connect with their audience in an intimate way. You are showing up consistently and offering your teachers value. Podcasting builds the know like and trust factor by building relationships and connections.

Podcasting also allows teacherpreneurs to get ahead of the curve. Podcasting is growing and will continue to get even bigger in the next 3-5 years. It truly is amazing. The earlier you begin the journey, the better.

The other aspect of podcasting for your business is the ability to expand your reach. Thanks to a variety of platforms such as Apple Podcast and more, teacherpreneurs have the opportunity to reach people on all platforms.

Farrah and I talk about the value of podcasting and the importance of showing up consistently for your audience. Join us to hear more.

The online marketing world can be so overwhelming. And it is easier for people to turn off when they are on social media. With so many algorithms it is very easy for you to get lost. When you look at podcasting, I put podcasting up there along the same lines as an email list. It is a very personal thing to give someone your email address. I think podcasting is the same thing with a little bit more anonymity. It allows you into somebody’s ear, and it allows you to give your voice to what your ideas are. It is some much more personal to be in someone’s ear. - Farrah Shipley Henely

I think podcasting is something everybody should really think about if they have something to share. -Farrah
