This week we mourn and discuss Naya Rivera's death. She died from drowning in Lake Piru located in Southern California. Her son, Josey, was found a few hours later sleeping on the boat. Her body was missing for a few days before her body was found on July 13th, 7 years to the day Cory Monteith was found dead. (Naya Rivera played Santana on Glee and Cory Monteith played Finn on Glee.) We discuss other sudden deaths including Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash and a Youtuber named Dee Chapman ("TipToeChick" on Youtube), who died in a car crash. This reminds us how scary nature is, how much we cannot control (like technical/mechanical difficulties with cars, planes, and helicopters). We are not victim blaming in this podcast but we are questioning is there a "safe" way to live life? Is riding in a helicopter worth it? Is going to a national park alone safe or swimming by yourself in a lake or in the ocean safe? Should we take prevented measures or is it all for nothing because we are all going to die anyway, when it's our time?

Max shares his horror story while staying at Suncoast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV for his birthday staycation. His car got a large dent in his door due to a fight that occurred overnight. The bad luck does not stop there! Not only did The Suncoast did not call the police, they did not properly identify the men who were fighting, they "didn't have the footage" of the fight (even they previously advised they did have the footage), and they refused to refund Max for his stay. They were kind enough to refund the resort fee due to the fight, however, the pool, fitness center, spa, movies, bowling, and buffet were closed due to COVID-19. Max had to pay out of pocket to repair his door due to the lack of security at Suncoast.

(Partial) Transcript Below. We talk about Coronavirus until 18:25 is when we start to talk about re-editing when a song or movie has already been published.

2:34 Max: This is a new game now this is the Corona virus.

Kelly: It’s interesting because the infection rate is one and a half per four people so it’s way worse than Ebola and Influenza.

Max: Yeah and contrary to popular belief you don’t drink it from drinking Corona, just throwing that out there. Corona is still good to drink.
Kelly: The reason why we are discussing this because in China they have food markets where they will cook and slaughter these animals at the same location. That is what is creating all of these contaminations and diseases.

Max: One thing I notice is – how many viruses that are so deadly need to come out of Asia before people start looking into the cleanliness of, it usually comes from cuisine because that’s how you ingest something and the thing is when you are chopping up all kinds of meats and animals and you don’t wash them beforehand, and there’s no testing for anything like here, you have cross contamination that’s gonna happen. 4:00 And a lot of times, maybe you will have a virus or some sort of bacteria inside one animal, that isn’t deadly on its own and you combine it with another animal’s blood and now you created a super virus that’s deadlier than anything else or maybe its a virus that doesn’t kill monkeys but it kills humans, things like that. I just think, enough is enough This is the ump-teen virus that has some out of Asia. Someone needs to do something about this because it’s so fucked up that now, you are shutting down flights all over the world because it’s such a huge concern and people whoa re dying. One thing that worries me too is nay-sayers “Oh you have a bigger chance at being struck by lightening than catching the corona virus” you know what? Fuck you. I will just stay out of a thunder storm, how about that? Corona virus, I can’t do anything if someone coughs in my general direction and gets me with it. The irresponsibility of people who just get sick and they don’t go to a doctor, they just go around coughing around people. I see it at restaurants – mouth wide open – coughing, all over the place 5:00. I think that is eventually what is going to kill humanity is how people don’t give a shit.

Kelly: It’s the modern plague. It’s interesting because I was telling you how much I want to go to China and Japan and now I’m just like –

Max: Yeah, fuck that

Kelly: Yeah I’m kind of scared to go now I understand there are cases in the US and Canada and what not but the fact that obviously the closer you are to China, the more people are going to be ineffected makes me nervous. Max: That’s because there is a lot of Asian population especially Chinese in Canada and the US. Why is it that the west coast is more effected? You have a huge Asian population in Vancouver and think of all the China towns on the West Coast. They got in a big one in LA, they got a big one in San Francisco, it’s kind of how it goes because it’s where people settle Once that thing spreads, it’s hard to contain stuff like that. It’s already like a hundred cases, it hits you so quick. Kelly: I have a friend who is going to Thailand and she didn’t seem very concerned about the virus at all and that kind of concerned me. Max: Yeah well one person who I go to school with just got back from China and you already knew the virus was going on “she already paid for her flights” and it’s like who gives a shit, you are going to die. You could kill your family and you don’t give a shit because oh, you already paid for your flight? Fuck that, there is a reason why – I hate how all these people they go online, they read somebody saying “oh no it’s not that bad” and it’s all of these Internet idiots who try to diminish the severity of this. There is a reason why airlines, in the business of, you know, getting passengers can flying them across the fucking place Kelly: Delta, American, and British Airways have stopped all flights going to China Max: Yeah they just stopped because it’s serious as hell. This is not just about money. Think of all the money they are leaving on the table. and the US government, right? Kelly: And the people on the Internet, they make it a race ting. “Oh don’t believe it because it’s propaganda. People want you to be racist against this contentment. They just want you to have these racist slurs. and they really down play the virus. I don’t even know where – they are getting these facts from like, China Today God only knows – that’s not even recent news. They are pulling all these articles and sources that aren’t even sources and saying ‘oh this is a fact. The Flu kills more people than the corona virus ” There’s only 8,000 people a year who die from the [standard] actual flu but the corona virus is something that is fairly new and yet it’s more effecting and more deathly.
Max: 8:30 I think the people who bring that up, it’ s such a stupid argument. It’s almost like when you watch some sort of animal documentary and they talk about the most dangerous animals and the mosquito wins over the jaguars, the sharks, the snakes, it’s like oh the mosquito is the worst right because it killed all these people and does it though? It’s because it’s carrying a disease, it’s carrying malaria, and that’s what eventually kills people. It’s not like the mosquitos are tearing people apart like a shark would. That’s what you think about when you think of deadlyness and lethal.

9:14 The idea of “more people get killed by cows than sharks” but you know what? I would leave my baby next to a cow before I threw my baby in the water with a shark, how ’bout that?
Kelly: Is that even true? Cows kill more people than Sharks?

Max: Yeah apparently.

Kelly:That can’t be true

Max: Yeah

Kelly: It only has to do with exposure or something

Max: No, it’s because I’m pretty sure it has to do with things like exposure like you have people in farms and the cow falls over and it crushes a man. That’s different than an animal that actively looks to tear your ass to pieces because its going to eat you. That’s a real deadly animal. Would you ever be afraid next to a cow?

Kelly: Petrified

Max: I don’t see anyone milking sharks out there. Kelly: Could you imagine shark utters?Max: That would be pretty funny, yeah. Shark milk would be so good. 10:18 I bet it has all kind of nutrients. Anyway, we are straying from the point, the point is people need to start taking this shit seriously. The whole reason why things is out of hand is because people are like “Don’t worry about it”. Wanna know the reason why you don’t worry about it? Because you honestly have the greatest physicians in the world who are able to get this stuff under control in time but that’s also because there are procedures. These people get quarantined. You stop flights to that country and stuff. People think stopping flights is a normal thing. 11:00 That’s not a normal thing. Think about how often these airlines completely shut off contact.

Kelly: Banning to go to a city. And also, we forgot to mention The U. S. government is rating China a level 4 and then you have people on the Internet saying “It’s not anymore dangerous than the standard flu.” Are you serious? Level 4 is the highest dangerous level

Max: That’s what I wanted to say just for context Level 4 is the worst and Mexico City is level 2. Just so people get a idea of the context. Mexico City has a lot of nice areas because it’s still kind of a dangerous city. Level 2!

Kelly: The reason why he said Mexico City is because Mexico is broken down to cities and states with the U.S. Government when you search for the safety of those locations. It’s not Mexico as a whole, it’s broken down to the state and city that you go to . 12:00 So that’s why we are comparing Mexico City, which obviously a city, compared to China is because some countries are broken down to the exact location you are going to and the severity of it.

Max: Yeah and I think even for China. The reason where you are getting the level 4 is Bejing, Shanghai, where you have such a high risk. 800 million people is a fuck ton of people. 12:30

We recently got back from Disneyland and we are peeved about the prices of main stream theme parks. We are looking at you, Disney and Universal! Sadly, the over pricing for events is not limited to main stream them parks but sports events, concerts, festivals, and so on. At what point will big events become affordable again? Will concert and admission ticket keep on increasing in costs until one ticket is an average person’s monthly wage? If you travel to these concerts/festivals/theme parks, there are costs on top of the $500 you are spending just to step into the event: flights, hotel, rental car (or Uber), food, souvenirs.

Even the worst seats at sporting events and concerts, are expensive ranging to hundreds of dollars per seat. Our society is criticized a lot for being more anti-social than previous generations however, what they may not take into account is the events that our grandparents attended to were significantly less than what they are today, including taking into account inflation. We don’t believe the majority of people would rather watch a game on tv than a stadium, it’s because there aren’t better options.
It seems the best solution in the mean time is to go to the less expensive competitor. Red Box made Hollywood Video and BlockBuster obsolete.

34:50 Max talks about Galaxy’s Edge. At 38:33 we discuss Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. We both thought it was a cool idea however, it was underwhelming in comparison with other rides at the other themes/sections of Disneyland.

Max shares a creepy murder story about George Joseph Smith who killed three of his wives, these series of events are known as “Brides in the Bath Murders” taken place in England in the early 1900’s. His three wives “drowned” over the course of two years. Apparently he got away with these murders because there was no sign of struggle. It was then discovered they would lose conciousness from the flood of water which is why there was no sign of struggle. We also briefly talk about prisons. At 13:15, we talk about the movie Joker. we have very different opinions of the film. Max loved the film while Kelly hated it.

We have the intro until 2:58 then we agrue about piercing your baby’s ears. Max is for piecing baby’s ears and Kelly is opposed to it.

Kelly’s comment: A baby shouldn’t have any part of their body pierced. It’s unnecessary. Earrings is an accessory and something fairly mature. There isn’t a good reason why an infant needs to wear jewlery or makeup or anything of the nature of beauty. We can worry about beauty when they are a teenager. If you don’t wear earrings enough you will have to repierce your ears so the argument of “the adult will thank their parent for piercing their ears at a young age” isn’t always valid because priecing holes close.

10:47 We discuss social media and the impact it is having in our society. It’s now unavoidable and socially unacceptable to not have a form of social media. Social media is designing people to feel less accomplished and it kills confidence. Instead of people sharing things they actually care about, people use social media to exhault themselves and make them appear more successful than they are. The major accomplishments in life are hard to document because small steps are taken daily and it’s not tangible unless you are taking a photo with a wad of cash or your new car.

There is no one size fits all to a meaningful, successful life or a successful aspect of your life. Social media is often promoting the idea that you have to meet this criteria to be a boss babe or hustler.

Instead of social media sharing things that we care about, it’s self centered, self-focused, and no one is really growing or learning from the posts that we are seeing daily. When it comes to business, every influencer can be bought to promote a product for a certain price, despite believing in the product. Social media is the daily Truman show.

There a few things that peeved us about It Chapter Two: Stanley killing himself in the film and at the end of the film, they made Stanely a hero by giving the losers a peptalk in his final letter. No, Stanely, you are a coward. The Native American ritual was confusing. Where did that come from? Is IT a demon? Is IT a clown? Is IT an alien? Everyone in the film had to find an artifact for this ritual: Beverly had to find an old letter, Richie had to get an old coin, Bill had to get Georgie’s paper boat, all while having an interaction with Pennywise but Eddie? No he just had to get into contact with a zombie and get his inhaler from the pharmacist. Beverly and Bill are both married but kiss in the film because that’s normal.

This episode we discuss our opinions on marijuana. Marijuana can be a gateway way drug to “harder drugs”: pain killers, cocaine, heroine.
*This discussion is strictly about weed for plessure, not for any health use.

Transcription:

Kelly: This episode we are going to be talking about drugs. Specially, marijuana. Is marijuana a gate way drug?

Max: Plot twist, or spoiler alert it is.
Kelly: Either way it’s fine. The people who I talk to get very upset when I try to imply that or try to say something like that. I’ve never done drugs, I have never done marijuana so by no means am I the expert or speaking from personal experience however, the people who do speak out about their addiction namely for example, Lamar Odom and Alexis Neiers. They were former drug addicts doing cocaine and heroine. They said that weed is a gateway drug and I think that says a lot. When a former drug addict says “For me weed was a gateway drug”. How are you going to say “the majority of people who smoke weed don’t experiment with harder drugs therefore weed is not a gateway drug. Absolutely it is a gateway drug.

Max: The whole thing about that too is like saying for example, child abuse. If you have someone who was abused as a kid, they are more likely to grow up and be child abusers themselves but probably the majority of people who were abused as kids turn out to not be child abusers but because something has the probability of not resulting in negative consequences at all doesn’t mean that it’s not something that does cause that negative effect. So when you talk about something like a gateway drug what a lot of people who smoke pot fail to understand is that just because pot smokers don’t move on to harder druges doesn’t make marijuana not a gate way drug.

Kelly: Right weed for you wasn’t a gateway drug but weed for Rebecca could be a gateway drug.

Max: Yeah and when they say it’s natural, it’s better than alcohol and all this stuff. No, no we get that it’s not as dangerous as meth, maybe not as many people die from it compared to alcohol things like that but that precisely is what makes it a gateway drug. You are pretty much going against your own agrument. The idea is a lot of these kids who do move on to harder drugs. How do you think they get started? Do you think they get started with meth? Do you think they get started with heroin? Do you think they start with getting blow off the toilets or mirrors at their high school? No. They start by smoking pot. And why? Because it’s cheap and it’s not as dangerous as the others so you are more likely to test the waters with that. It’s also more socially acceptable so that is what makes it the prefect gateway drug. Just because of the large majority of pot smokers do not ever try another drug or maybe they do or they don’t keep doing it, doesn’t mean it’s not a gateway drug. And the reason why is because it’s a gateway to worse drugs. If you are doing heroin, you are at heroin already. You aren’t going to go on something worse, right? So that’s what we are trying to say. We are not trying to go after the people who are trying to smoke pot, we are going after the logic that it’s not a gateway drug.

Kelly: Right and if you are an addict and let’s say you experience with alcohol, you become an alcohol. You experiment with weed, you are addicted to that, of course you are going to keep on progressing and experiment wtih cocaine and eventually heroine. There are people who are already drug addicts will say “Well, sure, I am addicted to oxycotton but I am not going to addicted to a harder substance than that or I will never be addicted to heroin or whatever the case may be. I also want to acknowledge that alcohol is also a gateway drug but here’s the big difference: not everyone who drinks alcohol is doing it to get become drunk or to get sh** faced but all people who smoke marijuana are doing it to get high.

Max: Well not only that but with alcohol there’s more alcohol you can consume before you are impaired than with pot. With pot you smoke and you are high. If you do a shot of hard alcohol, you are probably going to be fine unless you are an 87 pound girl and it’s your first shot ever but you will still be able to function. It’s just a completely different animal. That’s the thing we people compare drugs it’s not possible to compare because they are all different. It’s affects you different. You shouldn’t compare them really. They are all their own thing. What you can compare though is just the way they effect you in the amount of you doing them. If you do heroin, as soon as you shoot up, you are done and youa re going to be out. If you do cocaine, you are probably going to do a few bumps in the night. That’s probably how it is going to go down. With alcohol you have to progressively get there. Same thing with cigarettes it’s more of a slow killer than anything else. Pot is probably not going to kill you but the fact that people say it’s not an addictive substance are just stupid. Let’s just throw it out there – they are idioits.

Kelly: You should talk to the addicts themselves. Don’t take someone else’s word for it, don’t even take your own experience into it. Talk to the people who have actually been in and out of rehab. Talk to the people who are addicted to cocaine, talk to the people who are addicted to heroin and ask them how they started. Ask what they went through, ask them their whole story and how they got to where they are. And again to say “weed is not a gateway drug” is ignoring all the people who say it was for them.

Max: Well yeah it’s very much like with everything else in life. You start with whatever is least dangerous and progress from there. Earlier when we were talking about this, I gave you the example of riding horses. Generally you don’t start with a clydesdale. For those of you who don’t know a clydesdale is a huge, huge horse that is way, way hard to ride because they are so powerful and they are tougher for beginners to use. So a beginner, you are not going to them on that. You work your way up to that. When you are learning to skate board, you are not starting on Tony Hawk level tricks. You try to maybe just skate and see if you can do that, try to balance yourself. When you surf, you try small waves, you don’t go for the big waves. There are generally things you do in progression and drugs is the same way.

Kelly: Progression is just a natural part of life. Oh you are so used to using X, let’s bump you up a little more and see how far you can go.

Max: And Lamar Odom someone like him, I believe him. He has nothing to hide at this point. For him to say ‘I started with pot and it just kept on going from there, going, going, and going, I believe him because, why wouldn’t it start that way? You guys really think he started with what put him in the hospital? No, eventually, smoking pot is not enough. It’s because some people have more addictive personalities. Someone aren’t just happy getting high. They want something more, they want something new. They don’t just smoke pot because they just want to feel relaxed or something. They smoke it because they are not made like you.Not every smoking-pot-person is the same person. ‘Well I didn’t do other stuff. I don’t do gateway drugs’. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean others have used pot [and have gotten addicted to hard substancees]- it’s a common story.

Kelly: Right and when you research this, and I guess that’s why my frustration is so high is because when you go (I made a pun), when you research these instuitions and these organizations about weed being a gateway drug, they pretty much say the same thing: ‘Weed is not a gateway drug. Why? Because the majority of people who do weed have not done harder drugs’ as if that proves something.

Max: Right and if you are going to play numbers, just because the large majority of people- that’s exactly the agrument that we are making – yes we understand that the majority of people who have smoked pot don’t move on to a more dangerous drug but that doesn’t mean that doesn’t marijuana mean is not a gateway drug. I don’t know how else to explain it.

Kelly: Or they will say ‘The President of The United States, President Obama, smoked weed when he was in college as if that is to say it’s okay to smoke weed now. So?

Max: Also the statistics are going to be different the more legalized it becomes. I think because it was illegal, at least in The States for a long time, still a federal illegal drug but I think the statistics are going to grow a little more. the more you start having people come forward and not being, because if it’s not criminalized, people will come forward more with their use and you will start to to see those numbers grow. Yeah but the numbers are still pretty high but I am sure when alcohol was in prohibition everyone said they didn’t drink alcohol so that’s kind of how it goes. So the more we move forward, we will see the numbers grow. You will also see a real eye opener. You will see their kids move more openly to harder drugs. I think that because before, people just hid it from their parents and you never got to see that move from pot to something worse. Once you saw them use a drug that they might get in trouble and get into something worse vs. now of that progession to harder drug.

Kelly: So going back to the whole “once something becomes legalized, it becomes normalized”. According to AdditionCenter.com the number of addicts for people addicted to alcohol is 18 million compared to the 4.2 million of marijuana and pain killers is 1.8 million, the one following is a little bit less than a million is cocaine. That’s signfically less than what I would assume for cocaine and pain killers but as what you were saying, because it’s illegal and people often buy pain killers through the black market once their doctor doesn’t prescribe it to them anymore, it’s obviously going to be hard to track.

Max: Yeah it skews in the numbers. I remember doing research projects where it was something like domestic violence right and when you saw a country with really low domestic violence, wait, hold on a minute, that’s weird that all these other countries have this level and this country is super low. What are they doing that’s different? Turns out what they are doing is they are just not tracking it. There is no reporting, there is no statistical data that is being kept maybe it’s not even a crime or maybe it has to be super, super severe to be a crime. So you got to always have to look into how reseach is done, not just what the statistics say. I know that works both ways, I know in a 30 minute podcast we can’t cover every last bit and if you really want, you can do rebuddle with your own information. You can always dig up information that reinforces information that you are thinking already. Just as someone who is looking at it from the outside, I think when you have pot smokers who say ‘you can’t get addicted to pot, it’s not like other drugs’, I understand that it’s not like other drugs but you can still be addicted to it. Addiction doesn’t have to be something that is going to kill you because you overdosed on it. Addiction could be you just can’t stop doing this thing. I have stories of employees, coworkers who can’t even go through a full work day without smoking and you smell them and you see them ‘What the hell man? You just went on lunch. Why are you high?’
Kelly: It’s interesting when you see the people who do weed. Who do you hang out with? Who are your friends? Who is your family? It’s interesting. Your father does esctacy and your mom does crack. Hm that’s interesting.
Max: I understand there is a lot of normal families, maybe you are the only pot smoker or maybe your parents do it and it’s a recreational thing, I got that but your minimalizing the effect it can have on people.

Kelly: They are incredibily desensitized
Max: Yeah. They are saying ‘No man, it doesn’t do anything.’ Man, f*** off. I have never, ever met someone who smokes pot and they are hyper intelligent or witty or something like that.

Kelly: Right super productive

Max: Yeah it just doesn’t happen. I know there’s worst things in the world but by that logic, there is always going to be a worse thing in the world. Kelly: I have to disagree. I think drugs absolutely ruin families.Max: No, I am talking about pot specifically Kelly: I honestly believe it is a slippery slope. I know it’s a lame agrument -Max: It’s not lameKelly: but it is a slippery slope. That’s why it’s so frustrating. What’s the pro of doing marijuana? What’s the cons? By far the cons exceed the pros.

Max: Well there is a reason why it’s still illegal federally. I think that there is something to that. I think that it’s not just “the old estabhlishment – they did the same thing with alcohol.” Yeah but the reason why alcohol was prhibited is not the same reason marjuana is prohibited. With alcohol, it came from something, I guess ethically back then. Remember this country was founded by pilgrims and they had a very, very pure way of thinking of things and prohibition kind of came from that. You didn’t want people drinking and being whores. They just thought there was so much debotchery around it. It’s true but having it be criminal[ized] was a little too much. With marajuana I do belive it’s different because you can’t function on it. You don’t see someone get high and function [while they are] high.

Spoilers

This episode we recap Mad Men, season One. We both hate Peggy Olson with every fiber our being. There is no character ever written with such a lack of personality. She is the most boring, uninteresting person in the show and from television history. She isn’t clever, funny, bold, kind, or engaging. Every scene she is flat and lifeless. The only thing she brings to the show is making every character, even the antagonists, look like heroes.

This episode 13th we discuss the horror of frauds. We are using the term lightly for fraud as this can be as simple as not being entirely honest about someone’s background. People over talk themselves to make them credible but if you were to actually do a deep dive on someone, it’s now common to find little to nothing fact checking these people or these professionals. There are people that seem too perfect and scripted.
The people you see this the most with is with “coaches” be it financial coaches, fitness coaches, life coaches etc. If you are going to be transparent about  your “resume”, your crediticals, or results, it should be (in some way) fact check-able.

Correction from 13:00, It was actually John Hanson who was the first President of the United States in Congress Assembled, under the Articles of Confederation.(https://www.constitutionfacts.com/us-articles-of-confederation/john-hanson-story/) John Hancock did have the large signature on the constitution and reserved as fifth President of the United States in Congress Assembled (1737-1793). (https://www.constitutionfacts.com/us-articles-of-confederation/presidents-who-served/)

14:43 We discuss this quote about self acceptance. You can still love yourself and better yourself. If you cannot deal with failure, you will have strong mental health issues and will struggle with yourself. You have to love yourself no matter what. Self love is not earned. You would never have a child (or your own child) earn your love by their accomplishments so why would you expect the same for yourself? If you hate yourself, you will never get anything done. You will keep on running till you run out of energy. Self love is the only thing that will keep your momentum because no one is going to care about you and your life like you.

Today we are talking about the mob mentality also known as witch hunts. People get second hand information and publicly persecute a person based on a very little evidence (if that).

We talk about Andy Signore from Screen Junkies public humiliation based on lies told by someone who he was seeing for a short period of time. Accusations are known by the masses, news outlets, and his employer.

17:40 We discuss the Tati/James Charles drama. Tati, James Charles, and Jeffrey Starr (who later got involved) are beauty gurus, who have huge online followings from Youtube and social media. Due to misheard information, the masses unsubscribe, unfollow, and defame someone who are not involved and getting second hand information.

We talk about the set up of the museum and checking in until 6:55

6:56 Max talks about his favorite part of the museum: Jack Kevorkian’s Van and the room where a man would kidnap and torture male prostitutes.

12:33 Kelly talks about her favorite part of the museum: Lee Sober Shapiro and Ed Gein’s Cauldron.

18:41 We talk about the live haunted aspects of the museum, more so with the carnival/clown room.

22:07 The celebrity death room. They had Sharon Tate’s wedding dress and a photo of Chris Farley at time of death. Max’s biggest peeve is the room of Michael Jackson.

23:53 The Devil’s Chair – to clarify, the chair wasn’t bought from the Warrens. It was bought from Carl Glatzel Jr. We don’t believe there was a connection between Loraine Warren’s death and the time Zak Bagn bought the chair (happened the same day)

25:38 Post Malone’s bad luck from the dybbuk box. We are not impressed by adding meaning to things that have no meaning or just coincidence. Somethings have no connection but they make it into one in the name of paranormal activity.

26:51 We enjoyed the murder aspects of the museum. We discuss Ted Bundy and just because someone looks like a good member society, it doesn’t mean they aren’t pure evil.

We really enjoyed the museum, we would go again however, we believe in fact checking and don’t believe the over hype.

Until 11:27 – Cafe Rio, They are starting to make it a daily habit of closing their iced tea/soda machines, and stacking up their chairs 1-2 hours before closing.

11:35 The 2019 Super Bowl. The Rams let us down.

13:53 The World Cup – Max bet on Spain like a fool even though he knew France was going to win the 2018 World Cup.

19:30 Game of Thrones – The finale let us down. It sounded like it was more of a fan fiction’s ending than professional writers writing the ending.

We discuss weddings and music this podcast.

Weddings (until 17:22): Why is it necessary to have all pre-wedding events (engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner)? Why can’t there be just one event: wedding/reception or just one pre-event? As a bridesmaid, you are expected to help plan and pitch in financially for the pre-events as well pay for your own dress/shoes. It’s very easy to be overwhelmed and hard to be happy for the actual couple when there is so much pressure and expectations of the pre-events. How much money and time is a bridesmaid expected to chip in (including all pre-events)?

Music (17:23+) Country music is extremely sad. Songs like “House That Built Me”, “Cowgirls Don’t Cry”, “Humble Kind”. Max likes the more upbeat countries songs like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”. We have an Iron Maiden concert coming up. What’s up with Taylor Swift’s open letter (explaining Scooter Braun bought her masters/her music up until the album “Lover”) in the end explaining what in perpetuity means? I quote “Controlling a woman who didn’t want to be associated with them. In perpetuity. That means forever”. I was team Taylor until the author of this letter had to clarify what in perpetuity means because the reader of the letter is too stupid to know strong vocabulary or even worse, incapable of using a dictionary.

Pretentious: attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed. -Google

We’re peeved about pretentious people (especially on social media), including but not limited to people in relationships, expectant mothers, and gym rats.

People in relationships: We get it. You are happy you are in a relationship (and you should be) but don’t act like you have the ultimate wisdom of relationships and dating just because you are in a relationship.

Expectant Mothers: Especially for first time mothers, they have the baton of ultimate wisdom because they are pregnant or now have the new title as “mother”. “As a MOTHER, I think…” Stop acting superior than others who aren’t parents.

Gym Rats: Some people have bigger goals than hitting the gym like getting an education or working hard to make money. Physical health is important but it’s doesn’t need to be an obsession or a 24-7 lifestyle.
