On this week's episode of Runner's Anonymous, I sat down with Andrew Gaspard, manager of Sportspectrum in Shreveport, LA. Sportspectrum is a local run-specialty and outdoor retailer that was founded in 1980 and has been giving back to the running community ever since. Andrew and I will talk about his journey to the sport of running, his experience with his first ultra-marathon last October, and how Sportspectrum has had to adapt their business during the COVID-19 pandemic. Enjoy the episode!

For this week's episode of Runners Anonymous I sat down with two of November Project (NP) New Orleans Co-leaders, Joseph Morin and Tonia Salas. Throughout the episode we talked about how they found out about November Project and their first experiences with attending the group workouts. We also talked about they are handling the challenge of leading virtual group workouts during this COVID-19 Pandemic. One of the things I loved that came out of this episode is the fact that both Joseph and Tonia felt really intimidated to go to their first November Project workout because of who they thought the type of athlete that attended the workouts. They quickly learned that NP attracted athletes of all ages and abilities and the culture of support and inclusion kept them going out to workouts and eventually join the ranks of NP co-leaders. Enjoy the episode!

Lauren currently works for Varsity Sports as their marketing and graphic design person. Lauren is a seasoned runner and has been part of the running community for almost 20 years now. We cover how Lauren first started running with her neighbor, her seven year run streak, and how she trains for races while working a full-time job. Enjoy the episode!

For the first interview of Runners Anonymous, I reached out to one of my running buddies, Jeremy Smith,  and asked him to share his journey of running so I could see how this whole podcasting thing might go. In this episode we talk about what got Jeremy started running, the mental benefits of running, why the marathon distance is so tough, and why The Speed Project is such an intriguing race style. Enjoy getting to know Jeremy Smith and why he runs.
