About Srimad Bhakti Vedanta Muni Maharaj Srimad Bhakti Vedanta Muni Maharaj was born in 1973 in a Gaudiya Vaisnava family in Orissa, India. His parents were high-class Vaisnavas whose mercy from childhood gave him a deep impression in Krsna consciousness. Their house was none other than a Math or temple where aratikas, kirtans, reading the Puranas such as Srimad-Bhagavatam and so on, went on continuously throughout the year. Many high-class Vaisnavas joined there regularly without formal invitation. Therefore, from the beginning of his life, Maharaj had the chance to serve the Vaisnavas.
Srimad Muni Maharaj has many unprecedented qualities in producing devotional music. He composed hundreds of traditional devotional songs that are widely appreciated around the world. He has given his music and voice to more than ten devotional albums, which are giving inspiration to countless devotees around the world. His albums are in Oriya, Bengali, Sanskrit and Hindi languages. He injects his own unique and creative inspiration into those albums. Without any formal education in music from any academic school or teacher he accomplished his devotional singing and skill in directing his devotional music. He firmly believes his aforesaid talent has been gifted by Sri Guru and Sri Krsna. Now presently he is traveling extensively in Western countries as well as in India, preaching the message of Srimad Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam by the order of his diksa and siksha Gurudevas. There is some speciality in his preaching that he can speak and sing according to the subject matter in order to invoke an attractive environment amongst the audience. He prefers to present devotional topics in this musical way rather than delivering lectures that are helpful in controlling the unsteady mind. He has translated and published a number of devotional books in the regional language. Srimad Muni Maharaj for twelve years has looked after his own preaching center, Sri Gour Govinda Gaudiya Ashram. After the aprakat-lila of Srila Gurudeva Bhaktivedanta Narayan Gosvami Maharaj in late 2010, the succeeding years became difficult for him to maintain the Ashram in his separation, and most of the time he stayed in Sri Vrindavan Dham. Therefore he decided to reside in Vraj Mandal in early 2012. In his ashram “Radha Govinda Asram" in Radha-Kunda, the most holy pilgrimage place in the world, Srimad BV Muni Maharaj gives intensive training to bramacharis in serving the eternal divine couple Sri Radha-Krsna. An increasing number of spiritual seekers, new devotees from around the globe come to him for guidance. Upon invitations he travels within India and abroad to spread the message of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He continues inspiring people with his preaching activities and his deep soul-searching devotional songs that have become his trademark for the pleasure of Sri Radha-Krishna and his Guru-varga. Nectarean Hari Katha spoken by Srimad Bhakti Vedanta Muni Maharaj on Radhasthami 2016 in Holland.
Shri Radha-Vinoda-Vihari-Tattvashtakam (Why Shri Krishna acquired a bright complexion) Shri Shrimad Bhakti Prajnana Keshava Gosvami Maharaja
radha-cinta-niveshena yasya kantir vilopita shri-krishna-caranam vande radhalingita-vigraham (1)
I worship the lotus feet of that form of Shri Krishna when, due to being thoroughly immersed in separation from Shrimati Radhika (who is displaying mana, Her mood of jealous anger), His own dark complexion vanishes and He assumes Her bright, golden luster; or, I worship the lotus feet of Shri Krishna as He is embraced by Shrimati Radhika (after Her mana has broken).
sevya-sevaka-sambhoge dvayor bhedah kuto bhavet vipralambhe tu sarvasya bhedah sada vivardhate (2)
When Shri Krishna (sevya - who always takes service from sevaka) and Shrimati Radhika (sevaka - who is always doing seva to sevya) meet together and enjoy each other, how can there be any distinction between Them? But in vipralambha Their feelings of separateness perpetually intensify. [Sevya is bhokta Bhagavan - who is always enjoying. Sevaka is bhogya - who is enjoyed. At time of meeting there is no bheda, difference, between Them - They are abheda, non-different whereas in separation Their mood of difference especially increases.]
cil-lila-mithunam tattvam bhedabhedam acintyakam shakti-shaktimator aikyam yugapad vartate sada (3)
By the influence of acintya-shakti, the Divine Couple, shakti (potency) and shaktiman (the possessor of potency) who perform unlimited transcendental pastimes, are forever simultaneously different and non-different. [Para-tattva is never without shakti. When shakti-shaktiman are one svarupa, in one body, then gaura-tattva is manifest, and when They are separate in two bodies, Krishna as lila-purusottama enjoys lila with Shrimati Radhika.]
tattvam ekam param vidyal lilaya tad dvidha sthitam gaurah krishnah svayam hy etad ubhav ubhayam apnutah (4)
Although the Supreme Truth is one, His pastimes appear in two forms: those of Shyamasundara Krishna and Shri Gaurasundara, both of whom are directly Svayam Bhagavan (and whose contradictory qualities are fully harmonized by acintya-shakti). [The usage of the word varna (complexion) in verse 5 and the word guna (quality) in verse 6 establishes shri-gaura-tattva to be as worshipable as shri-krishna-tattva:]
sarve varnah yatravishtah gaura-kantir vikashate sarva-varnena hinas tu krishna-varnah prakashate (5)
Wherever all the colours are combined, a golden hue (gaura-kanti) is manifest; for example, although all colours are present in the sun, its hue is golden. On the other hand, in the absence of all colour, black (shyama-kanti) is manifest (and according to the opinion of modern scientists, black is actually devoid of colour).
sagunam nirgunam tattvam ekam evadvitiyakam sarva-nitya-gunair gaurah krishnau rasas tu nirgunaih (6)
There is no difference between the supreme truth manifest as saguna (possessed of transcendental attributes - gaura-kanti) and nirguna (devoid of material attributes - shyama-kanti). They are one and the same. Shri Gaurasundara possesses all eternal divine qualities and Shri Krishna is the embodiment of rasa which is completely devoid of mundane qualities.
shri krishnam mithunam brahma tyaktva tu nirgunam hi tat upasate mrisha vijnah yatha tushavaghatinah (7)
Shri Krishna and Shri Gauranga are both the supreme Brahman. Those who abandon serving Them to worship the formless Brahman never attain factual liberation and are precisely like those who try to extract rice by beating empty husks - all they obtain is their fruitless, hard labour.
shri vinoda-vihari yo radhaya milito yada tadaham vandanam kuryam sarasvati-prasadatah (8)
By the mercy of my Gurudeva Shrila Sarasvati Prabhupada, I worship Shri Vinoda-bihari and Shrimati Radhika as They meet and take Their darshana at that time.
iti tattvashtakam nityam yah pathet shraddhayanvitah krishna-tattvam abhijnaya gaura-pade bhaven matih (9)
1) O mind just worship the lotus feet of the son of Nanda, which make one fearless. Having obtained this rare human birth, cross over this ocean of worldly existence through the association of saintly persons.
2) Both in the day and at night I remain sleepless, suffering the pains of the heat and cold, the wind and the rain. For a fraction of flickering happiness I have uselessly served wicked and miserly men.
3) What assurance of real happiness is there in all of one's wealth, youthfulness, sons, and family members? This life is tottering like a drop of water on a lotus petal; therefore you should always serve and worship the divine feet of Lord Hari.
4) It is the desire and great longing of Govinda Dasa to engage himself in the nine processes of bhakti, namely hearing the glories of Lord Hari and chanting those glories, constantly remembering Him and offering prayers to Him, serving the Lord's lotus feet, serving the Supreme Lord as a servant, worshiping Him with flowers and incense and so forth, serving Him as a friend, and completely offering the Lord one's very self.

Translation:
(1) Gurudeva! Because you are so merciful, you gave me a place in Godruma amid the woodlands of Gauda, with this order to fulfill: “Dwell here in this Vrndavana and sing the holy name of Hari.”
(2) But when, O master, out of your great mercy, will you bestow upon this servant of yours the spiritual competence to fulfill that order? When will my mind become tranquil and fixed? When will I endure all hardships and serve Lord Hari without distractions?
(3) Due to attachment to worldly pleasures in childhood and youth, I have developed bad habits. Because of these sinful acts my body has become an impediment to the service of the Supreme Lord.
(4) Now, in old age, afflicted by the five-fold illnesses, how will I serve the Lord? O master, please tell me. I have fallen at your feet weeping, overwhelmed by anxiety.

TRANSLATION 1) My friend! That most magnanimous Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu has appeared as the rising sun to dispel the darkness of this age Kali.
2) His brilliant golden complexion shames the bright luster of gold, and His beauty defeats the pride of Cupid. His curly black hair is decorated with a garland made of malati flowers, and bumble bees fly around them.

4) He Hankering to relish the unparalleled pastimes of the greatly munificent Sri Gaurasundara, who distributes mercy in the form of nama-prema to the supremely fortunate niskincana souls (those whose only possession is love of Krishna), the fallen and foolish Radha-mohana sings in a mood of great distress

2) When will I obtain the mercy of Lord Nityanandacandra? When, by His mercy will the desire for material enjoyment become very insignificant?

TRANSLATION 1) Aho! Without the mercy of Sri Gaurasundara, the son of Saci, who could have heard about that extremely wonderful prema-nama?
2) Who would have told us the unlimited glories of sri-krsna-nama? If Sri Gaurahari, who is Krsna endowed with the bhava and color of Sri Radha, had not appeared and described the unparalleled sweetness of Vrndavana, and if He had not poured His causeless mercy upon the fallen jivas of Kali-yuga without discrimination, then who could have entered into the sweetness of that Vrndavana?
3) Sri Radha is the last limit of that most effulgent madhura-rasa. Her wonderful mahabhava consists of adhirudha, modana, madana, and various other ecstasies. Without rasika-sekhara Sri Gaurahari’s mercy, who could have known all of this? How was it possible for anyone to know of the divine sattvika transformations before Sri Saci-nandana Gaurahari revealed them in Jagannatha Puri at Sri Gambhira, within the house of Kasi Misra, while He tasted Srimati Radhika’s moods of separation?
4) Without Him who could have understood the loving affairs in parakiya rasa shared between akhila-rasamrta-murti Sri Krsna and mahabhava-mayi Sri Radha and Her kaya-vyuha-svarupa gopis? Who made it possible to know the glories of the gopis, their transcendental bodies and their various bhavas – vibhava, anubhava, sattvika, and vyabhhicari?
5) O blessed Kali, you are most glorious, for Sri Gaurahari and Nityananda Prabhu have appeared in this world to display supreme compassion. They filled the world with such high levels of prema which were incomprehensible even to Brahmaji.
6) Without discriminating as to who is elevated or fallen, They embraced everyone. Sri Premananda says, "O brothers, keep that Sri Gaurasundara locked in your heart of hearts."

TRANSLATION 1) Gurudeva! O spiritual master! When, with a steady mind in a secluded place, will I sing the name of Sri Krsna? When will the pandemonium of worldly existence no longer echo in my ears and the diseases of the body remain far away? When will that day be mine?
2) When I chant “Hare Krsna”, tears of love will flow from my eyes and ecstatic rapture will arise within my body, causing my hair to stand on end and my body to become overwhelmed with divine love.
3) Faltering words choked with emotion will issue from my mouth. My body will tremble, constantly perspire, turn pale and discolored, and become stunned. All of this will be like a devastation of ecstatic love and cause me to fall unconscious.
4) When will such a genuine ecstatic condition be mine? I will constantly sing the holy name and remain absorbed in profound devotion while maintaining the material body. In this way I will obtain your mercy.

I recognize in them a transcendental stimulus for making the Lord’s charming pastimes more intense.

TRANSLATION 1) His birth is successful whose good fortune dawns so as to have the vision of Lord Krsna just once. When the jiva gives up all delusions of mind, then only he will see the vision of Krsna blooming within the eyes of his heart.
2) He sees Krsna there fully decorated with garlands of forest flowers as the most expert connoisseur of all the amorous love-sports in Vrndavana. His transcendental playing wonderfully on His flute, mellows and is the abode of all form bent in three different places, He is the reservoir of all relishable virtuous qualities.
3) By such a beautiful form He is maddening the entire universe. His complexion is like that of a fresh new rain cloud, His head is decorated with a big peacock feather, and His sandalwood tilaka on His forehead is most becoming. Wearing brilliant yellow-colored garments, He stands with His face decorated by a wide, sweet smile.
4) Beholding Him standing thusly at the edge of a kadamba grove, I can see that Krsna's beauty is conquering the luster of an entire mine of sapphires. Seeing this, my mind has become so restless that my feet will move no longer, and I've completely forgotten about my family and home life in this world.
5) Oh sakhi, oh dear girlfriend! Seeing that sweet form abounding in nectar, I have fallen unconscious as a fountain of tears borne of ecstatic love cascades from my eyes.
6) What a wonderful crown upon His head! What a wonderful flute He is holding in His hand! What a wonderfully beautiful form as He stands in His three-fold bending posture! The nectar of His lotus feet is overflowing with the tinkling sound coming from the clusters of anklebells which are decorating them.
7) Accepting the form of a honeybee, I always hope for a residence near His lotus feet. And I will get it very easily because I always sing the glories of Krsna, adoring no one else.

TRANSLATION 1) When, O when, will that day be mine? When will you give me your blessings, erase all my offences and give my heart a taste [ruci] for chanting the Holy Name in purity?
2) When will I taste the essence of the Holy Name, feeling myself to be lower than the grass, my heart filled with tolerance? When will I give respect to all others and be free from desire for respect from them?
3) When will I cry out that I have no longer any desire for wealth and followers, poetry and beautiful women, all of which are meant just for bodily pleasure? O Gaura Hari! Give me causeless devotional service [bhakti] to your lotus feet, birth after birth.
4) When will my body be covered with goose bumps and my voice broken with emotion as I pronounce Krishna's name? When will my body change color and my eyes flow with endless tears as I chant?
5) When will I give up all thought of the world and society to run like a madman along the banks of the Ganges in Navadvipa, singing and dancing and sincerely calling out the names of Gaura and Nityananda?
6) When will Nityananda Prabhu be merciful to me and deliver me from the enchantment [maya] of the sense objects? When will he give me the shade of his lotus feet and the right to enter the market place [nama-hatta] of the Holy Name?
7) When will I buy, borrow or steal the ecstasies of the Holy Name? When will I lose myself in the intoxication of the Holy Name? When will I immerse myself in the nectar of the Holy Name after grasping the feet of a saint who constantly relishes the flavors [rasa] of devotion?
8) When will I feel compassion for all living beings [jivas]? When will I forget my own pleasure in genuine humility? And when will I, Bhaktivinoda, meekly go from door to door, preaching your message of love?

Guru-caraṇa-kamala Bhaja Man Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyāṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja
śrī guru-caraṇa-kamala bhaja man guru-kṛpā binā nāhi koi sādhana-bal, bhaja mana bhaja anukṣaṇ (1)
Worship the lotus feet of śrī guru, O mind. Without guru’s mercy, we have no strength in our sādhana. O mind, worship guru, worship him at every moment.
milatā nahī aisā, durlabha janama, bhramatahū̃ caudaha-bhuvan kisī ko milte haĩ, aho bhāgya se, hari-bhaktõ ke daraśan (2)
This rare human birth is not often found as we scour the fourteen planes of existence. A chance few, by astounding good fortune, get to glimpse a devotee of Śrī Hari.
kṛṣṇa-kṛpā kī, ānanda-mūrti, dīna-jana karuṇā-nidān bhakti bhāva prema—tīna prakāśata, śrī guru patita-pāvan (3)
He is the blissful embodiment of Kṛṣṇa’s mercy and the reservoir of compassion for the destitute. Manifesting bhakti, bhāva, and prema, śrī guru is the savior of the fallen.
śruti smṛti aur purānana māhĩn, kīno spaṣṭa pramāṇ tana-mana-jīvana, guru-pade arpaṇa, śrī harīnāma raṭan (4)
All the Śrutis, Smṛtis and Purāṇas describe śrī guru’s glories; there is clear evidence of this. Offering my body, mind, and very life at the feet of Gurudeva, I incessantly sing śrī harināma.

TRANSLATION
1) My friend!
3) His beautiful moonlike face is decorated with tilaka, and His dressing enchants the whole world. His sweet smile delivers all embodied souls from the mire of material existence, by generating in them greed for love of Godhead. He displays unique ecstatic symptoms.
4) He Hankering to relish the unparalleled pastimes of the greatly munificent Sri Gaurasundara, who distributes mercy in the form of nama-prema to the supremely fortunate niskincana souls (those whose only possession is love of Krishna), the fallen and foolish Radha-mohana sings in a mood of great distress.

TRANSLATION 1) O my dear mind, with staunch faith perform hari-bhajana, without which you cannot be delivered. And with your mouth chant the names of Vrajendra-nandana, Gopé-prana-dhana (the life and wealth of the gopis) and Syamasundara, whose beauty en-chants the whole material manifestation.
2) There is no certainty when your life will finish, and you also never think about your deliverance from the material world. But very fearsome Yamadutas are standing near you. Bhagavan, whose power causes the three worlds to tremble in fear, You have forgotten. This is your misfortune. Thus, you are suffering in this material world from different kinds of miseries, and now you are about to die.
3) You have become intoxicated by your high birth and wealth, thinking yourself very high class. But you have forgotten that one day the Yamadutas will take you, tying up your hands and feet.
4) So whether one is a sannyasi or a very low-caste person, without performing hari-bhajana, one will continue to rotate in the samsara and go to the hell named Raurava.
5) Locana dasa says, “I have never done any hari-bhajana, having been absorbed in sense enjoyment. In this way my human form of life has been wasted. And this causes excruciating pain like a thorn piercing my heart.

TRANSLATION
1) If Srimati Radhika is merciful to me, then all obstacles to my devotion will be removed. There will be nothing more for me to attain because I will have received the fruits offered by the paths of both vaidhi-marga and raga-marga. And if She will speak to me while smiling gently, I will see Her brilliant rows of teeth which are like lines of priceless jewels. Having seen them one time, the goal of gaining liberation from material existence will be rendered insignificant.
2) O Syamasundara! O You whose head is adorned with peacock feathers! Your face is always graced with a playful smile, Your flute-playing is enchanting, and You are expert in relishing rasa with Srimati Radhika. Because You are an ocean of mercy, I am appealing to You to please make me a kinkari (maidservant) at the feet of Your beloved.
3) You are the Lord of the life of the daughter of Vrsabhanu Maharaja and are like a bee who is always eager to taste the nectar of Her lips. O Rasika-sekhara, foremost of those who are rasika! I don’t desire anything other than to always reside at the feet of Srimati Radhika.
4) O Nanda-nandana! O all-pervading Prabhu! O You who enchant my mind, and indeed, the minds of all! Taking a piece of straw in my teeth, my humble entreaty to You is that She, who is the love of Your life, will remain my dear worshipable goddess birth after birth.

TRANSLATION: Gopinath! Mama Nivedana Suno
1) O Gopinatha, Lord of the gopis, please hear my request. I am a wicked materialist, always addicted to worldly desires, and no good qualities do I possess.
2) O Gopinatha, You are my only hope, and therefore I have taken shelter at Your lotus feet. I am now Your eternal servant.
3) O Gopinatha, how will You purify me? I do not know what devotion is, and my materialistic mind is absorbed in fruitive work. I have fallen into this dark and perilous worldly existence.
4) O Gopinatha, everything here is Your illusory energy. I have no strength or transcendental knowledge, and this body of mine is not independent and free from the control of material nature.
5) O Gopinatha, this sinner, who is weeping and weeping, begs for an eternal place at Your divine feet. Please give him Your mercy.
6) O Gopinatha, You are able to do anything, and therefore You have the power to deliver all sinners. Who is there that is more of a sinner than myself?
7) O Gopinatha, You are the ocean of mercy. Having come into this phenomenal world, You expand Your divine pastimes for the sake of the fallen souls.
8) O Gopinatha, I am so sinful that although all the demons attained Your lotus feet, Bhaktivinoda has remained in worldly existence.

Ho Gaye Bhava Se Pār
ho gaye bhava se pār, lekar nāma terā I have crossed the material ocean by chanting Your name. Vālmikī was very humble. He was engrossed in sinful activity but he composed Rāmāyaṇa by chanting Your name.
nala aur nīla jātike bāṅdar, rāma-nāma likhadiyā śilā par ho gai senā pār, lekar nāma terā There were two monkeys, Nala and Nīla. They wrote Rāma-nāma on stones (which floated on the water) and the whole army crossed the sea by chanting Your name.
bharī sabhā meṅ drupad dulārī, kṛṣṇa dvārakā-nātha pukārī baḍa gayā cīra apāra, lekar nāma terā In the midst of the whole assembly the daughter of Drupad called for Kṛṣṇa. Dvārakā-nātha and her sārī was unlimitedly increased by chanting Your name.

She appeased You by dancing without concern for public opinion. The doors of love opened up by chanting Your name.
gaja ne ādhā nāma pukārā, gaja ne govinda nāma pukārā garuḍa choḍakar use ubārā, kiyā grāha saṁhāra, lekar nāma terā The elephant Gajendra uttered a half-name. He called out “Govinda.” Kṛṣṇa came on Garuḍa and killed the alligator.

I am calling in every street to accept the holy name of Lord Kṛṣṇa. I am distributing diamonds and jewels of Kṛṣṇa’s name in every street. Whoever took these jewels they become enriched and those who worship māyā, become poor. O holder of gold, silver and wealth! I am trying to make you understand. O fanatic of wealth, listen!

mohan hamāre madhuvan main tum āyā na karo jādū bharī ye bāṁsuri, sunāyā na karo
O Mohan! You should not come into our Madhuvan and play this magical flute.
sūrat ṭumhārī dekh ke, salonī sāmvarī sūnakar tumhārī bāmsurī ham ho gayi bāvarī mākhan curāne vale, dil na curāyā karo
By seeing your attractive darkish (complexion) face and hearing your flute we went mad! O stealer of butter, you should not steal our heart.
mukuṭ gale van mālā, kaṭi kāchnī sohe kāṇaṇ kuṇḍal jhūmke, mere man ko mohe is canḍṛmā se rūp se lubhāyā na karo
Your body is decorated by a crown, garland and waist ornament. My mind is enchanted by your bell-shaped pendant (earrings). Don’t attract us by this beautiful moon like form.
apnī yashoda maiyā kī saugandha hai tumko yamunā nadī ke tir pe tum, nā milo humko is bāmsurī kī tān pe bilmāyā nā karo
We are giving oath of your mother, Yashoda, that you would not come on the bank of Yamuna to meet with us and keep waiting on the melody of Your flute
isī tumharī bāmsurī ne mohinī dārī caṇḍṛa sakhī ki vinatī tum suniyon banvarī darasa dikhāde sāṁvarā, ab der na karo
Thus, your flute has enchanted everyone, therefore this is the request of Chandra sakhi to Banvari to appear before us without any delay.

TRANSLATION
1) O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much, where in every home there is worship of tulasī and the Deity with darśana of Govindajī.
2) Where the pure waters of the Yamunā flow and where the foodstuffs are milk and yoghurt. O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much.
3) Where the Deity sits on a jeweled throne, with tulāsi in His crown. O friend! I like Vṛndāvana very much.
4) Where Rādhikā roams from kuñja to kuñja, having heard the vibration of His flute. O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much.
5) The hero Giridhārī is the master of Mīrā, who says that without bhajana a person is dull. O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much.
Hari Se Baṛā Hari Kā Nāma
hari se baṛā hari kā nāma, prabhu se baṛā prabhu kā nāma anta meṅ nikalā ye pariṇāma
Hari’s name is greater than Hari Himself (because the Lord’s name can go everywhere). This is the conclusion of all the śastras.
sumīro nāma rūpa bina dekhe, kauḍī lage na dāma nāmake bāṅdhe khine āyeṅge, ākhira ek din śyāma
Just chant the name even without seeing His form—it doesn’t cost anything. Being tied by His name, eventually Śyāma must come to you one day.
draupadīne jab nāma puṅkārā, jhaṭa ā gae ghanaśyāma sāṛī khaincata hārā duhśāsana, sāṛī baḍāi śyāma
When Draupadī called out this name, Ghanaśyāma immediately came. When Duhśāsana was pulling off her cloth, Śyāma increased the length of her sārī.
jal ḍūbat gajarāj pukāro, āye ādhe nama nāmiko cintā rahati hai, nāma na ho badanāma
When Gajendra was drowning, he could only utter half of the name. Nāmī (Kṛṣṇa) is always worrying that His name cannot be ill-reputed; thus, He came.
jis sāgarako lāṅdha sake nā, binā pulake rāma kuda gae hanumān usīko, leke hari kā nāma
Without the bridge Rāma could not cross over the ocean, but Hanumān, chanting Rāma’s name, jumped over the sea.
vo dil vale dub jāyeṅge, jinmeṅ nakiṅ hai nāma vo patthara bhi tereṅge jin par, likhā rāmakā nāma
That person, in whose heart the name does not dwell, will sink. That stone upon which Rāma’s name is written will float.
Śrī Govardhana Mahārāja

Syama Teri Bamsi
Syama teri bamsi baje dhire dhire kanha teri bamsi baje dhire dhire
Hey Syamasundara, you play Your flute very slowly and very sweetly.
Baje dhire dhire dhire yamuna kinare Syama teri bamsi baje dhire dhire
it men mathura, ut gokula bich men jamuna bahe dhire dhire
On this side is Mathura, on that side is Gokula, and Yamuna flows between them very slowly.
Baje dhire dhire dhire yamuna kinare Syama teri bamsi baje dhire dhire
it madhumangala, ut sridama bich men kanha cale dhire dhire
On this side is Madhumangala, on that side is Sridama, and in between Krsna walks very slowly.
it men lalita, ut men visakha bich men radha cale dhire dhire
On this side is Lalita, on that side is Visaka, and in the middle Radha walks very slowly.
Baje dhire dhire dhire yamuna kinare Syama teri bamsi baje dhire dhire
jhula daro kadamba ki dari radha aur mohana jhule dhire dhire
The swing is hanging from a kadamba tree. Radha and Mohana swing very slowly.

Sakhī Rī Mere Mana
sakhī rīnmere mana abhilāṣā hoya madana mohana ke guṇa gāū O Sakhī, my heart’s desire is to sing the glories of Madana-mohana.
śiśa pe mora mukuta sohe, pagana paijaniyā mana mohe kamara pīrāmbara jhilamila hoya na mukha se varṇana kara pāū The peacock feather in His crown is very beautiful. His jingling anklebells enchant my mind. His waist is adorned with yellow cloth, the beauty of which I simply cannot describe.
kānana me kuṇḍala hai ālā, gale me vaijayantī mālā adhara muralī pyārī lāge moya, sunū to mana me sukha pāū Hearing about the earrings in His ears, the vaijayantī mālā around His neck and the beloved flute at His lips, my heart will obtain great happiness.
ye laṭa mukha pe kālī-kālī cāla mohana kī matavālī yahā jāye se darśana hoya batado gela kahā jāū Locks of black hair dangle upon His face; as if intoxicated He moves in an enchanting fashion. Tell me friend, where can I go to receive His darśana?
ye naṭavara rāsa-bihārī ke saṅga vṛṣabhānu dulārī ke saphala jīvana mero kaise hoya yugala caraṇana me sira nāū That best of dancers is in the company of the daughter of King Vṛṣabhānu. Bowing my head at the feet of the Divine Couple, my life will be completely successful.

TRANSLATION 1) I offer prayers to the lotus feet of Visvambhara, who cuts away the defective consciousness of those who are influenced by Kali-yuga.
2) With the fragrance of His supremely sweet philosophy, name, qualities, etc., Mahaprabhu attracts His honeybee-like followers. By His causeless mercy, He removes the anguish of separation of His dear associates (like Advaita Acarya).
3) For a long time the hearts of the jivas in this world have been afflicted with ignorance due to maya, which He instantly destroys with His brilliant effulgence.
4) Radha-mohana, having become greatly attracted to Mahaprabhu whose unmatched splendor is always radiating out, is broadcasting His glories to all.

TRANSLATION
1) Her splendorous golden complexion steals the pride of a golden lotus flower anointed with a tinge of red kunkum (vermillion). Her sweet fragrance mocks the fame of the aroma of a lotus flower sprinkled with saffron powder. She is fully qualified to fulfill all the desires of the son of the king of the cowherd men. May Sri Radhika bestow upon me the service of Her own lotus feet.
2) Her amazing and colorful silken garments make the splendor of red coral feel ashamed. She is a garden of blossoming flowers where the maddened bumble-bee named Krsna performs amorous pastimes. She worships the Sun-god daily in order to attain the continual association of Her beloved Krsna. May Sri Radhika bestow upon me the service of Her own lotus feet.
3) Her charming youthful delicacy negates the fame of the freshly-sprouted leaves. Her refreshing form is worthy of being served by the cooling moon, sandalwood paste, lotus flowers, and camphor. When She touches the master of the gopis, She dispels the burning heat of His lusty desires. May Sri Radhika bestow upon me the service of Her own lotus feet.
4) Although the goddess of fortune, Laksmi Devi, is adored by other youthful goddesses, who are themselves, glorified throughout the universe, still she is nowhere near Sri Radhika in the matter of beauty, praiseworthy youthfulness, or other divine feminine opulences. There is no one in the material or the spiritual worlds that is superior to Radhika in the expression of naturally loving pastimes. May Sri Radhika bestow upon me the service of Her own lotus feet.
5) She is very learned in many transcendental arts, such as performing in the rasa dance, singing, and joking. She is decorated with many divine qualities, such as loving nature, exquisite beauty, and wonderful garments and ornaments. Even among the cowherd damsels of Vraja, who are praised by the entire universe, She is the best in every way. May Sri Radhika bestow upon me the service of Her own lotus feet.

TRANSLATION
1) Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu is always the most worshipable Deity of the demigods, including Lord Siva and Lord Brahma, who came in the garb of ordinary men bearing love for Him. He instructs His own pure devotional service to His own devotees. Will He again become visible before the path of my eyes?
2) Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the protector of the demigods, the supreme goal of the Upanisads, the be-all and end-all of the great sages, the beautiful shelter of His devotees, and the essence of the love of the lotus-eyed gopis. Will He again be visible before the path of my eyes?
3) Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has manifested His own form, which cannot be compared to anything in the material universe. He is very dear to Advaita Acarya, and Srivasa Pandita is surrendered to Him. He is very respectful to Paramananda Puri. He takes away the ignorance of the material world and delivers the conditioned souls suffering from the threefold misery. He showered His mercy on Maharaja Prataparudra, the king of Orissa. Will He again become visible before the path of my eyes?
4) Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu becomes maddened by tasting the mellows of devotional service. His effulgent form is the abode of sweetness for millions of Cupids, and He is the crest jewel of sannyasis. His garments display the effulgence of the sun, and the splendor of His body eclipses the beauty of gold. Will He again become visible before the path of my eyes?
5) Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu chants the Hare Krsna mantra in a loud voice, the holy name dancing on His tongue as He counts the number of recitations on a beautiful knotted string held in His effulgent hand. His eyes are large, and His long arms, bending as He performs His pastimes, reach down to His knees. Will He again become visible before the path of my eyes?
"Sri Gita-govinda is a 'jewel book' brought by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. We all know that Sri Jayadeva Gosvami has written this beautiful Gita-govinda, but without Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu it would have remained locked like a pearl in the oyster shell or a jewel in a locked case. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu manifested the glories of Sri Gita-govinda. Just as without Srila Rupa Gosvami no one would have known the inner moods of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, similarly, by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu relishing the moods of Sri Gita-govinda its glories became manifest for the whole world. I have explained this very high-class philosophy, but only rare devotees in this world can understand it. I have called you here only to give you this." -An excerpt from a lecture entitled "The Jewel Book" by Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami Maharaj

Translation:
(1) 0 Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of a fish! All glories to You! You easily acted as a boat in the form of a giant fish just to give protection to the Vedas, which had become immersed in the turbulent sea of devastation.
(2) 0 Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of a tortoise! All glories to You! In this incarnation as a divine tortoise the great Mandara Mountain rests upon Your gigantic back as a pivot for churning the ocean of milk. From holding up the huge mountain a large scarlike depression is put in Your back, which has become most glorious.
(3) 0 Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of a boar! All glories to You! The earth, which had become immersed in the Garbhodaka Ocean at the bottom of the universe, sits fixed upon the tip of Your tusk like a spot upon the moon.
(4) 0 Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of half-man, half-lion! All glories to You! Just as one can easily crush a wasp between one’s fingernails, so in the same way the body of the wasplike demon Hiranyakasipu has been ripped apart by the wonderful pointed nails on Your beautiful lotus hands.
