This week we sit down with Grace L. Edwards. She tells us that it's okay to do Both... And. You don't have to do one things. You can be many things, work on many things and still be in purpose. Listen to her share her journey through college as she finds and figures out her purpose.
Grace is is a current undergraduate senior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying with the intention of pursuing medical school. She is drawn to conversations about identity, race, healthcare and medicine and often works in the intersection of these topics. She is a recently published co-author of "Can You Help Me Give a Sh*t?: Unlocking Teen Motivation in School and Life," which is now available for order on Amazon and EPUB.

Episode 1 of the Collegiate Series!
I sit down with Eb and Malaya to discuss purpose as college students navigating schedules, purpose, and leadership. They both share how to grow in your career and leadership on purpose. They share wisdom on how to navigate with intention and lead others with grace.
Eb's Bio:
Ebenezer Aggrey is a 2024 graduate of Northwestern State University with a degree in Business Administration. During his time at NSU, he held several leadership roles, including president of the Theta Chi chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the National Pan-Hellenic Council, vice president of the Student Government Association and Black Male Alliance, and was an active member of the Blue Key Honor Society, the Order of Omega, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. He is also an alumnus of the Reginald F. Lewis Scholars program.
Currently, Ebenezer works in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a Workforce Specialist Coordinator for the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.
Malaya's Bio:
Malaya White is a 22 year old Opelousas native. She earned her high school diploma at Westminster Christian Academy. She then went on to complete her Bachelors of Arts in Communication with a minor in Psychology at Northwestern State University.
During her time at Northwestern, she was active in multiple service and honor organizations. She was a member of Helping Hands Service Organization, African American Caucus, and Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. She also served in leadership roles within her organizations, including Social Media Chair of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Senator-at-large, Secretary, and Treasurer of Student Government Association and reporter and anchor for NSU-TV. Malaya also is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and served the Eta Chi chapter as President, Treasurer, Chaplin, Bylaws chairman, and served the sorority regionally as the North Louisiana Cluster Undergraduate Coordinator.
Malaya’s focus now is obtaining her Masters of Communication From University of Louisiana at Lafayette. While she is obtaining her degree, she is working as a Social Media Intern with the 15 White Coats Nonprofit Organization.

On this episode I sit down with Dr. Leslie Ekpe. Dr. Leslie let's us know that your purpose has people attached to it. There are people who helped you along the way and people you'll need to help. Leslie reminds us to tell their names and their stories because they matter too.
Leslie U. Ekpe (she/her/hers) is an assistant professor at Texas A&M University-Commerce in the Department of Higher Education and Learning Technologies. Leslie is a proud alumna of Alabama A&M University, where she earned her B.S. in Management; the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her M.A. in Communication Management; and Sam Houston State University, where she earned her M.B.A. in Business Administration. Lastly, but certainly not least Dr. Ekpe earned her Ph.D. in Higher Educational Leadership from Texas Christian University
Through qualitative methodologies, Leslie conducts research on anti-racism, DEI, and racial equity by analyzing the challenges encountered by marginalized peoples, as well as investigating equitable practices and policies for institutions and societies to implement and sustain. She is the incoming secretary for the Council on Ethnic Participation (CEP) within the Association of the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), a Visiting Scholar at Rutgers University's Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Leadership, Equity, and Justice.

I have a course called the Dissertation Accelerator which is a time management/productivity course teaching mothers pursuing doctorate degrees how to finish their dissertations in 12 months or less without ever writing on the weekends and missing time with their families.
