When Government Doesn’t Punish Crime

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Scripture makes clear that government is God’s idea, not man’s, and that he has given to government authority to punish criminal behavior. What happens when government does not do its job? In Ecclesiastes 8:11 we are told, “Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to to evil.” When the law is not enforced, evil is allowed to run free and grow in strength. Regressives are rolling back restraints against evil, and the results are entirely predictable. A bank robber in New York was arrested for holding up four banks. But because of brainless bail reform laws, he was immediately set free. What did he do? The very next day he robbed another bank. He said, “I can’t believe they let me out! What were they thinking?” My question exactly.
