This is an XXL episode with one of our (now) favorite guests, Josie Wozniak (@Ms_Woz). She is TikTok famous, even though she says she is not, and talks all about how that came to be and how she started using EduProtocols in her classroom. There is some great wisdom shared here and we absolutely recommend following her on “The TikTok”.

In this episode we are talking to fellow #XPLAP and gamification contributor Candice Healing (follow her on Twitter @CandiceCth)! We had a great conversation about what she is doing to keep her students engaged and how her school/district is handling the current Corona Virus situation and why doing a TextQuest (check out @meehanedu's template here) can be quite challenging but still doable. We also talk about why this time right now could actually be a good way to connect with your co-workers some more!

Since we are social distancing at the moment, we wanted to check in with you guys and see how you are doing. So this episode is just very random. No guest, but we talk about the HIDOE press conference and reflect on how things are going for our school district and are wondering what is going on where you are. We also do a shout out to John Meehan (@meehanEDU) for doing a daily podcast during this pandemic so that teachers can get some ideas and guidance for distance teaching. So we highly recommend his podcast! We also would encourage you to communicate with us and maybe you can be on our podcast as a guest during this strange time! We would love to hear from you directly!

This was our first episode recorded during the Corona Virus outbreak, so we talk a little about that and how to explain to kids why hand washing is important by showing them a gross picture of a bread experiment (bit.ly/grossbread), why using “currency” in a SpEd classroom works really well for behavior management, why Classcraft is great and why Fabian moved away from it, why teaching middle school is special, and many other things.

We also talk about the 7th grade spring craziness, why we should not be disappointed when things don’t turn out the way we expect them to, and why meditation can be great for teachers.
