You are no doubt familiar with comedian Frank Caliendo’s work. You have seen him on the Fox Network, Mad TV, Fox NFL Sunday, Frank TV on TBS and more. His impressions of John Madden, President Donald Trump, Jeff Goldblum, Ted Knight, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neesen, and countless others have also made him a semi-regular on The Bob and Tom Show.
On the podcast today we find out how Frank is changing his stand up act to be more Frank Caliendo and less impressions. Finding your voice isn't always easy.
For Frank, his journey has included acting lessons and telling more personal stories about his wife and two kids. We also learn how Frank got his start in comedy, his first big break, his love of table tennis, future acting roles and so much more.
Frank Caliendo has plenty to say as “Frank” and I was engrossed. I think you will be too! Enjoy!

Not sure why I gave this show the Summer Lovin’ title, except it was a summer night and Britt, Tiffany and I tackled all kinds of topics including love. All kinds of love; self love, royal love (royal wedding), relationship love, fantasy love, you get the idea.
We also discuss dieting and how Britt likes her food “on fire” literally! Have you ever heard of a drama eater? Me either, we learn about that in this episode.
And for some bizarre reason we shared ideas for our own funerals. Other topics I had jotted down in my notes with no other explanations include: Body Holiday in St. Lucia, Handmaids Tale, Fortnite the video game, poison ivy, 4th of July, online dating, movies, and the Thai rescue operation.
I hope we touched on something you have to hear more about! Cheers!

Try interviewing two Indy Car drivers when one of them is from Columbia and Columbia is taking on England in the World Cup on the TV above your head! I had the honor of doing just that with todays show featuring two time INDY 500 winner Al Unser Jr and INDY car driver Gabby Chaves.
While Gabby may be teaching Al a thing or two about soccer, Al is being paid to coach Gabby in everything racing. After retiring from a successful driving career, Al Unser Jr is now employed by Harding Racing. And for Al it’s a dream come true.
His new career finds him wearing all kinds of different hats, coach, obtaining sponsorships, helping in the shop, consultant almost anything asked of him except actually driving the car.
This lively banter between the two drivers is full of April Fools Day pranks, drones, road rage, oddest vehicle ever raced, death defying pace car laps with Bob, Tom, me and Al around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and more.
Plus you may even be inspired by the touching story of Al’s daughter Cody and her life changing foundation. All in all a great ride!
Enjoy!

From a small town in southern Indiana to opening for Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban, Clayton Anderson is taking on country music.
It hasn’t been an easy battle and he continues to fight but Clayton has the talent, drive and likability to make it big! Although he didn’t pick up a guitar until his senior year in high school he learned fast.
He started a band while attending Indiana University in Bloomington but after college started working in the “real world” at a mortgage company and in landscaping.
Entering the Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star battle-of-the-bands contest changed everything. He won the Cincinnati round in 2008 and opened for Kenny at the Riverbend Music Center. He shares a bit of what it was like backstage that night complete with a Leann Rimes sighting.
Afterwards he was officially bitten by the music bug and moved to Nashville to pursue a career. This naive young man arrived in 2009 with a dream and a lot of determination. After a few years of hitting the pavement, writing songs and dropping off CDs all over Nashville he released his first album “Torn Jeans & Tailgates” in 2011.
We are so lucky to have Clayton perform for us live “Only to Borrow” off that album. He has continued to write and record and treats us to another live tune “Your Love is Like Country Music”.
Learn what it takes to make it in the world of music from writing, performing and marketing yourself as an artist. A man with a heart of gold and a bushel full of talent, catch him on tour!

If you grew up in Central Indiana in the 70’s and 80’s you probably listened to WNAP. Cris Connor and his band of rebel “djs” changed the radio landscape and left a mark on many a listener. I would be one.
I was in high school when I first heard “the Wrath of the Buzzard”. It was in your face, loud, exciting, topical, and the music: free form. It sounded like their parents were gone for the weekend and they could get away with anything, and they did.
I was fortunate to sit down in the Bob & Tom studios with a few of the major players recently: Cris Connor, Fast Freddy Fever, Bruce Munson, Ann Craig and Buster Bodine. Talk about stories.
We find out how all of this madness started, how each player came to be a part of the station, the beginning of the legendary Raft Race, and some promotions that may not have been so successful.
Also favorite memories from each of our guests. One involves death and another a carpet square (guess which jock carried his own carpet square).
We also discuss other great jocks who honed their skills at the controls of 93.1 The Buzzard.
This show was so much fun and a dream come true for this gal. I am proud to say I did join the ranks of the Buzzard in 1981 albeit part time. So now, not only can I say I was on the staff I can also call these talented folks my friends!

After spending many years in the corporate world jewelry designer Judi Powers was ready for a change. She enrolled in a jewelry making class in 2002 and found her true passion.
Judi has taken classes at 92Y, Jewelry Arts Institute, S.V.A. (School of Visual Arts in NYC), Brooklyn Metal Works and Studio Jewelers. In 2013 she earned her AAS Degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Jewelry Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
I had a chance to meet her recently and we discussed what it takes to make a HUGE career change after almost 20 years in marketing. I was also fascinated with Judi’s choice of materials. Working with a lot of raw stones and unusual gemstones like dendritic agate her work is quite unique.
Learn about sustainability in jewelry and why she chooses materials like green gold. Inspired by nature and her grandmother Judi’s story is an inspiration for all and a great lesson on where jewelry actually comes from and how labor intensive some work can be.
Take a look at her website and be awed by her talent. Complete disclosure, I ended up buying one of her rings and I haven’t taken it off!

As a doctor in human sexuality Sadie Allison has spent her career helping others find pleasure. What started as “free” advice in high school has led to her authoring 7 books and a thriving online retail store for adult “novelties”.
Sadie shares with us how her mission began to help others in the bedroom. With the help of shows like Sex in the City the topic of pleasure is a bit less taboo. And Sadie has much to say about it.
She will share some of the interesting things she has discovered in her research: The most important sex organ on a woman, the difference between love and “just sex”, how communication is critical and many more topics that I simply can’t put into text.
You might learn something that jump starts your love life. A bit of an audio tickle, if you will.

Karma, Dharma, Dali Lama, Free Will, Unconditional Love just a few of the terms we will cover on this weeks show.
Marilene is a world renowned clairvoyant, intuitive therapist, spiritual healer and a long time friend. Her career includes features on popular radio programs including Chick McGee’s Podcast and documentaries. She has also hosted multiple radio and television shows.
She actually shares a story about meeting Ted Turner and his hopes for a 24hr “good news” network. The basis of THIS show however is change. Not to be afraid of it. Embrace the new while letting go of fear.
Marilene recently moved from Indiana to Los Angeles California, a major upheaval rather late in life. She shares what it is like to make such a change and why.
We also discuss all of the words you see at the top of this page. Do you believe in past lives? Marilene has a great story about one of hers. And no conversation between the two of us would be complete without reliving our Dali Lama experience complete with Steven Seagal!
And Marilene even sees a love match for me this summer. I hope you enjoy this hour as much as we did bringing it to you.

We are scratching the surface on a tough topic in this episode, Opioids and Heroin addiction with Indiana State Senator Jim Merritt.
Senator Merritt has undertaken the huge job of trying to kill heroin use in 5 years in his state of Indiana. He is 2 years into his fight and we talk about how far he has come and how much work still needs to be done.
The opioid/heroin epidemic has hit almost all of us. No matter your race, economic status, religion, age we all know someone who has been hit with this sweeping disease. I call it a disease for a reason. Addiction is an illness it is NOT a character flaw. Let’s loose the stigmas attached to the word “addiction” and start helping people.
That’s Senator Merritt’s message and he shares many useful tools. Including; prevention/education, treatment programs, going after drug lords, updated drug teams to assist after an overdose in hospitals, alternate medicines and devices to block pain receptors, and even clean needle exchange programs.
There is no clear cut answer to this epidemic but at least we are opening up a conversation and getting some new information out there that may help. Find out how you can make a difference. We need you!

Kristi has alluded to the fact that her mom has recently gone through a difficult time and that has meant an increase in her time away from the podcast. Plus we are honoring Morty's Comedy Joint, which always holds a special place in our heart because it hosted the first Kristi Lee Uninterrupted Live Show (and all the subsequent live shows). It is in forced relocation mode and has closed until the end to middle of Summer.
So what better throwback episode than the time we went live with Jimmy 'Mad Dog' Matis and talked early Bob & Tom, the time he fought a bear, avoided his wife and more.
Jimmy may be a funny guy but he is happy and content with his life after 25 years with Q95 and the Bob and Tom Show. He now works for the Indianapolis Colts securing sponsors and doing off-season radio. But most of all, he feels blessed with a wife of 30 years and five boys. He enjoys entertaining in his pool house and whiffle ball field.
Jimmy Matis (aka Dog) joins Kristi Lee live at Morty’s Comedy Joint to reminisce about the old days of the Bob and Tom Show, along with the wild and crazy times...road trips, excursions in the Bahamas, singing backup, among many more.
What happens when George Lopez, Chick McGee, and Jimmy ‘Mad Dog’ Matis hang out in Tijuana? Find out on this live version of Kristi Lee Uninterrupted. If you’re into Bob and Tom history, then you’ll love this show.
I have known our guest this week for many years. Going back to his first appearance on The Bob & Tom Show and then again on the road with The Bob & Tom Comedy Tour.
Auggie Smith has changed a lot. The man who exposed me to the wonders of a good chocolate martini and could party until it was time to catch a plane in the morning is now all grown up.
He is the proud father of two lovely children and the husband of one. His comedy has grown up too. He now thinks about his audience and the time and trouble it took them to get to a show, not about himself. Thus making for a more entertaining experience.
Auggie grew up with a single mom in Billings Montana. He excelled at speech and public speaking and had a teacher who suggested standup. His career really took off after moving to Portland Oregon and after doing The Bob & Tom Show.
We will learn about those early days and how comedy has played a major role in his life on and off the stage. I love the last line of my notes from this interview: The Story of Auggie Smith: The Bob & Tom Show, Being Positive, Most of Life is Good and Kindness!
Pretty much sums it up! Have fun!

Who doesn’t love an inspirational story? My guest this week has an incredible story.
Loni Love started working on the line in a GM plant in Detroit while still in high school. There she found a passion for electrical engineering, which landed her a scholarship to Prairie View A&M University in Texas.
While in Texas, she took the stage for the first time and fell in love with stand-up comedy, routinely getting gigs throughout college. Upon graduation, Love landed an engineering job in California and headed west to pursue her dream.
She became a regular at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, was selected for prestigious comedy festivals and was a finalist on the CBS revived Star Search.
Not only is she still touring the country as one of the nations top stand up acts. She is also seen on THE REAL a daily, one-hour Emmy® nominated talk show on Fox Television Stations and in national syndication.
Along with co-hosts, Tamara Mowry-Housley, Jeannie May and Adrienne Houghton, Loni discusses topics on the show ranging from their personal lives to the news of the day to beauty, fashion and relationships.
Not only do we discuss THE REAL we also learn about her comedic heroes, road stories, and more. Loni told me she feels that her comedy shows are a celebration and that's how I feel about this episode.
Loni Love we celebrate you!

There are so many talented people occupying this planet. On a recent Friday I was able to sit down with 3.
Debra Fadely-Raber, Laura LaForge and Jodie Bailey represent just a few of the contributors to the Stutz Artists Open House April 27th and 28th in downtown Indianapolis.
Each of these women has a specialty. Debra happens to be a photographer who likes to shoot many different things. She is married to photographer Kevin Raber and they had the most unusual wedding, surrounded by penguins in Antartica!
Jodie is a visual artist who mainly works as a sculptor and hat maker. We are not talking your boring fedora. No, her creations are definitely works of art. Often times she uses unusual items like pencils or pages from a journal to craft a chapeau! (chapeau=hat in french) and Laura is an amazing painter.
Each of these women talk about the importance of art and art education, how they got started, how you can become a collector (all budgets) and of course the event.
The 25th Anniversary Stutz Artists Open House will be held Friday April 27th and Saturday April 28th with a VIP event on Thursday April 26th. The Stutz Business and Arts Center is located at 212 West 10th Street on the full city block between 10th and 11th Streets, between Capitol and Senate in downtown Indianapolis Indiana.
The two-day event celebrates the 25th year the Stutz artists have welcomed guests to their studios where they work all year long. The artists and building will be decked out in silver to celebrate the anniversary. Each artist is creating a work of art inspired by silver to be featured in their studio.
Artists will offer paintings, photography, furniture, sculpture, jewelry and more for purchase.
Tickets may be purchased and information found at:

For those of you familiar with Britt, Tiffany and I getting together on a semi-regular basis then this weeks show will not be a surprise.
If you are new, hang on!
A recent Friday evening found the three of us in Tiffany's beautiful new kitchen sipping wine. Out of the gate Britt starts with her “waxing” adventure since she is about to go on Spring Break. That leads to a discussion on underwear and one of Tiffany's most embarrassing moments.
We also learn the interesting way Tiff uses to get her son to brush his teeth. I have to admit I was stunned!
We discuss elderly parents, grandparent names and then switch gears to Millennials.
Katy, our social media queen steps up to the mic to talk about her peers and what it is like to be a hard working young person with her own business.
Tiffany and I relive our trip to the Sundance Film Festival in Utah and how a documentary changed how we shop. I am not sure how the show ends except that we headed out (Uber) to see comedian Joel McHale at a local comedy club and Britt was nearly thrown out.
Like I said earlier hang on…
On a recent Saturday I was lucky enough to sit down with one of my comedic heroes, Jimmy Pardo. Jimmy has appeared on “The Tonight Show”, “Conan”, “ The Late, Late, Show” and had his own special on “Comedy Central”.
His signature crowd work (go see him LIVE!) led him to be Conan’s opening act at show tapings for the past several years. Along with field correspondent work and even co-hosting duties on Conan, Jimmy has also hosted numerous shows and specials for the Game Show Network, Science Channel, VH-1, AMC, NBC and more.
With so much to talk about I actually steered Jimmy to his outstanding podcast, “Never Not Funny”. An award winning podcast that started in the infancy of podcasting, way back in 2006!
Find out why he started, who his dream guests are, and why he used his podcast to deal with a couple of very personal heartbreaks.
He has also started the Podcast-a-Thon fundraiser for the charity “Smile Train”. This 12 hour marathon webcast has raised over a half a million dollars to help children born with cleft lips and palates.(smiletrain.org).
Of course we talk stand up too. How he writes jokes, his style, and the early days. Jimmy and his wife Danielle are also the proud parents of young Oliver. The son of two entertainers who appears to be destined for a life in show business. If Oliver’s school talent show is any indication Frank Caliendo and Kevin Pollack may have some competition.
I hope you enjoy this show as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you. I can not underscore enough how much I love the talented Mr. Pardo.

Acclaimed artist Nancy Noel fought undiagnosed dyslexia as a child and was told by a teacher in 8th grade “she would be nothing”. Fortunately for art lovers everywhere Nancy was not swayed.
She believes her learning disability actually opened the door for her amazing art work. She has painted animals on safari, African tribe men and women, Amish life, children, angels, favorite pets and more. Her paintings are owned by celebrities like Oprah Winfrey. Hang in prestigious museums: The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC. And are featured in the documentary, Women Like Us: Three Journeys One Mission to Change the World.
Yes, Nancy was so inspired by the people of Africa that she established the NA Noel School in Kenya in 1999. Since that time she has provided a safe clean environment to educate children. Thus helping to change the world one student at a time. Her efforts also recently led her to be honored at the prestigious National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. Nancy’s life of philanthropy & art was celebrated in song by a cast of musicians & composers, including Music Director of Broadway’s Hamilton, Kurt Crowley.
Nancy was chosen as 1 of 20 distinguished women for their achievements and courageous life choices. Other honorees included Michelle Obama, Justice Sonia Sotomayer, Kathleen Turner and Hillary Clinton. Hear Her Song was created to celebrate the stories of these remarkable women leaders.
Along with all of these amazing achievements and stories we chat about future projects, near death experiences and her two years following a SWAT team.
Nancy Noel is indeed one extraordinary woman with many tales to tell. Enjoy the adventure!
Greg Warren is no stranger to Bob and Tom Show fans. “Fluteman” Greg has made numerous appearance on our show and on comedy stages across the country.
Hailing from St. Louis, MO, Greg was a two time state high school wrestling champion and an All American in college. His many years spent on the mat also inspired one of his more famous stand up routines, Fluteman.
We learn how his teammates and coaches played a big part in his early comedy career. One that did not begin right out of college. After 10 years Greg left a job in sales at Proctor and Gamble to “gamble” on a career behind the mic. One that paid off well.
He has since been featured on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central Presents, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, BET and CMT.
As you can imagine we talk wrestling, making weight, Pringles, living in LA, food, and of course comedy on this episode. Recorded in the lobby of his swanky hotel in Bloomington, IN. Please enjoy!

We all know racing families like Unser, Andretti, and Foyt. What happens when you don’t come from one of those families or have the means to get a “ride” in the million dollar sport of auto racing? Kristian Aleixo shares with us the struggles of being an up and coming professional race car driver.
His drive and inspiration is impressive. Kristian suffered through the loss of his mother at an early age, was haphazardly raised by an absentee father and even spent 75% of his high school years homeless. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Army. This Iraq War Veteran and 2 time U.S. Army Commendation Medal recipient had hopes of becoming an AH-64 Apache helicopter pilot. That dream was shattered with a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes, the same illness that took his mom.
Kristian would not take this set back lying down. He took the skills that made him a top pilot candidate and focused them on his life long dream of racing. With no money and no training Kristian got resourceful and called around to race tracks looking for someone to teach him.
A man in California offered to help in exchange for working at his track. With the proper accreditation he is now building his resume with the ultimate payoff being a ride in the Indianapolis 500! He also works for Sharp Entertainment as a television personality and is the author of “My Life in Story: The Outside Groove”.
Trust me Kristians enthusiasm is catchy!

Multi-talented performer Henry Phillips grew up on the outskirts of Los Angeles in a pretty normal suburban neighborhood with parents who are both actors. An accomplished touring stand up comic with critically acclaimed comedy albums.
Henry’s career actually started as a singer/songwriter. We find out how he morphed that into a stand up act. Growing up so close to Hollywood it was not a surprise that he would someday venture into filmmaking. With a small budget and a few friends in the business Henry produced and starred in his own film “Punching the Clown” which was released in 2009. A semi-autobiographical film about a comedian trying to make a career in stand up which won rave reviews. The journey to the big screen is a story in and of it self.
After winning awards at Slamdance (the Alternative film festival to Sundance) and ending up on Netflix Henry started to get noticed by industry people. That led to a second film, Punching Henry in 2017 which is appearing now on Showtime. This time around some heavy hitters were involved including Oscar winning actor JK Simmons and comedian/actress Sarah Silverman. Learn how they were talked into the movie and we get a funny story from the red carpet premiere.
Henry isn’t through making movies either. He talks about a new film he wants to make surrounding open mic music nights in the early 90’s. He has also had success on the small screen. His “Henry’s Kitchen” videos are a YouTube favorite and have spawned a Patreon following.
And then there is coffee. Much of his life surrounds coffee which has made for some rather interesting encounters. One particular story involves comedian, actor, producer Mike Birbiglia and an explosion!
Top off all of this talent with music. A love that started as an 8yr old and found Henry practicing the guitar for up to 4 hours a day. A rather accomplished musician, Henry shares his musical heroes and more.
The soft spoken Henry Phillips has a charm unlike any other person I have ever met. After listening I think you will agree!

Drew Storen is one of only 6% of athletes who sign a deal to play baseball to make into the “Big Leagues”. As a relief pitcher he has played for the Washington Nationals, Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners and the Cincinnati Reds.
Currently he is rehabbing successful Tommy John Surgery and hopes to be pitching again in 2019. He sits down with me and talks about how he beat the odds and become one of the 6%. Find out what his best experience to date has been in the majors. Learn what city is his favorite to pitch in, favorite ballpark and what “other” famous athlete was at Stanford the same time as Drew.
An ambitious young man learn about his plans for after his career on the field is over. And with all of my podcasts we then venture off into some other areas of interest. Drew happens to be a big car guy. So of course we talk cars! He enjoys painting, on canvas, not houses!
He also happens to have a fascination with the military. A chance encounter with a baseball fan who lived in his neighborhood while in D.C. fed that interest. The fan turned out to be the legendary Navy pilot Chuck “Heater” Heatley. The F-14 pilot, Top Gun instructor, and photographer was an inspiration for the movie Top Gun. (Check out Heaters book, “Cutting Edge” it came out in 1986 but has amazing shots from his fighter jet.) Drew has even flown an F-16 simulator!
From here we talk memorabilia and his treasured collectibles. And I couldn't resist asking him if he does impressions like his famous dad, sportscaster and former Bob and Tom Show member Mark Patrick.
All in all a fascinating talk with a talented, interesting, and likable young man.
Twitter: @DrewStoren
The Bob & Tom Show favorite Pat Godwin joins us this week. Pat began singing and writing songs as a young man growing up in northeastern Pennsylvania. In his 20’s he was performing in and around Philadelphia where he caught the attention of veteran comedian Todd Glass.
Todd found Pat’s songs nice but it was the funny banter between songs that Todd really enjoyed. Enough that he convinced Pat to show up for an open mic at a comedy club to try his hand at stand up. In the crowd that night was the legendary Philly radio God John DeBella. DeBella was so impressed by Pat’s funny songs that he hired him to compose 4 on a daily basis.
Taken straight from the headlines these tunes became a staple on the Morning Zoo at WMMR for nearly 7yrs. We learn how Pat ended up going to The Howard Stern Show where he stayed until around early 2002. We discuss the first time he visited The Bob & Tom Show, let him play us a few tunes, and then things turn a bit serious.
Pat has suffered in the past from situational depression usually following a breakup. These bouts have seen him abusing anxiety medication and alcohol with some not so pretty results. We relive one of those moments following a comedy show in Farmington, New Mexico.
We also discuss life as a single dad to an adopted teenage daughter and a 7yr old son Jimmy, who sometimes goes out on the road and even steps on stage for laughs of his own.
And please stick around for the amazing Keith Richards encounter that Pat decided to save for last. You may laugh, sing along or even tear up a bit with Pat Godwin this week.

Jeff Boggs is a producer, writer, and sometimes actor based in Los Angeles, California.
Jeff started his career with an internship on “Late Night with David Letterman” on NBC. The odds of getting an internship with Dave is slim so Jeff had an interesting way of getting “in the door”.
Once there he took full advantage of the position. Find out about his big break becoming the “Board Guy” leading to a job as the receptionist on the talent floor and then on to the writers floor receptionist. (Many start at the bottom and work their way up. Good life lesson young people.)
Writing proved to be one of Jeff’s greatest talents and the staff of Late Night took notice. Jeff’s first joke to make it on the show was part of the famous Dave’s Top Ten list. His stint with Dave saw him nominated for a Prime-time Emmy and trip to the Emmy’s! His next job was with The Tom Green Show on MTV. This required a move to LA and an ironic skit where Tom “marries” actress Drew Barrymore. However that fell through when Tom and Drew actually started dating.
Jeff went on to Nashville as developer and producer of “Nashville Star”. The show was inspired by American Idol but unlike Idol the contestants had to sing country music. Judges included Blake Shelton, Brett Michaels, Wynonna Judd and more. Jeff has some wonderful stores about his time with these powerful country music stars.
Jeff is currently working on a new project which he is being a bit secretive but we will keep you updated.
When not working Jeff has a love of Karaoke! Learn which songs are his favorites to perform and which song ALWAYS brings down the house. Enjoy the humor, wit and storytelling that comes so easily to Jeff on this weeks episode!

Like most of our Sh*t with Britt shows I never know where they will go. This time it is no different.
I supplied the soup, wine and atmosphere and we started with a “New Years Resolution” theme but quickly veer off. Like many of you losing weight and getting in shape topped the list for Britt, Tiffany and myself. We talk about Weight Watchers, gyms, fasting diets, and plastic surgery.
Then switch to Global Warming (ah the art of conversation) which leads to Tiffany announcing that her sister lives in Alaska. I know what you are thinking, yeah well so what, she lives in a DRY cabin and rides a BIKE everywhere. WOW!
I bring up my favorite book “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. Buy it, read it, live it! Tiffany also has a great story about letting her oldest son “fail” on a recent trip to Chicago. Sometimes live lessons have to come the hard way and as parents its our jobs to facilitate those lessons.
The rest of my notes from this night are just words. Knitting, shingles, stress, Christmas, mom calls, ballroom dancing, Sam Elliott, Roadhouse, Tom Cruise, Cardi B, Madonna and Bruno Mars. Now I can’t wait to listen and figure out exactly what the heck happened.
Cheers!
Who doesn’t love magic and magicians? My guest this week, Justin Willman is not only a talented magician he is also a stand up comic. A combination that adds up to amazing entertainment.
We learn how a couple of broken arms at the age of 12 put Justin on a path to stardom. With the stage name Justin Kredible, given to him by his mom, Justin honed his early craft at kids birthday parties and entertaining friends.
His love of magic eventually led him to LA and the legendary club the Magic Castle. Although his first visit did not go as planned he did end up doing lots of stage time.
Now he travels the country with his combo show of magic and comedy and will soon bring his talent to TV. Justin has just finished filming 6 episodes of his new show Magic for Humans for Netflix. A show that looks at magic from different facets of being human. Example: Love, guilt, self-expression, etc. I am intrigued and can't wait to watch.
We also learn what it takes to bring a show from an idea to your home.
Magic isn’t his only talent Justin also was the host of the show Cupcake Wars and more on the Food Network. He shares the worst cupcake he ever sampled and some of his favorite flavors. Oh and we find out how a magician ended up hosting a food show in the first place.
Justin also shares his wedding with us. He married Jill a couple of years ago in a ceremony that was both unique and romantic. The couple also threw in a little magic… The video of their first dance is mesmerizing. Suspend reality for a bit and let Justin bewitch you with his story!

Behind all successful people are those who get little if any recognition. The Bob and Tom Show has producer Dean Metcalf.
Dean joined the show as an intern in 1988 and never left. In fact as the producer of the show his role is critical. But just what does a producer do? Dean will enlighten us.
He is also the voice behind many of our characters including, Jumbo the elephant, The Pope, and many nameless accents and on the fly call ins.
We learn how the Godzilla bit started, how he is a genius at editing on the fly, the birth of the Deans and more. What does an average morning look like for Dean? What is it like to work with Tom? We also veer away from The Bob and Tom show to talk about his incredible guitar collection.
Dean has amazing stories about his first guitar, his most expensive guitar, and his most cherished. Not only does Dean collect guitars he is an incredible player. He is a member of several bands including The Electric Amish, The Tempos, The Turnip Seeds, Area Code 812, and a couple of bluegrass ensembles.
In his spare time he collects Presidential memorabilia. How did that start? He has even acquired a couple of actual life size wax dummies of Presidents Grover Cleveland and Franklin Pierce. Where does one even buy a wax dummy of a former president? You will learn.
A fascinating look at a guy who rarely gets the attention he so deserves.

Our favorite sommelier is back! This time Arthur is talking holiday drinks. Did you know that champagne has to come from France? Most of the “bubbles” found on store shelves in America is of the sparkling wine variety. Find out which are Arthur's favorites.
The other big drink now is bourbon. We talk bourbon and more bourbon. We also discuss expensive wine, I mean very expensive wine. Is it worth the price? What was the most expensive bottle Arthur has ever shared?
And we can't talk drinks without talking hangovers. Are there any good hangover cures? We find out. Also Arthur and restaurateur Ed Rudisell started their own podcast called Shift Drink. Their show has prompted some rather unusual travels to places like Amsterdam, Paris, and Alsace France.
I would be remiss if I didn't say Arthur has some amazing and unbelievable tales from his adventures. Cheers to a wonderful Holiday Season! Enjoy!
Ooh that voice so distinct and smooth! World renowned motivational and business speaker Scott McKain is my guest this week. Scott has a remarkable ability to captivate and motivate anyone.
With a passion for business and bestselling books to back him up, Scott wows crowds with his dynamic presentations. We learn how he has become one of the best in the business. With a surprising start in not only radio but Future Farmers of America or FFA. As the state of Indiana FFA chapter president he took to the stage giving speeches all over the country.
After college hear how Scott met the famed film director Werner Hertzog. Hertzog was so impressed he asked Scott to play a villain in the movie “Stroszek”. Which was named one of the 50 great movies in the history of cinema by film critic Roger Ebert.
That role lead to a syndicated entertainment segment on 80 television stations for a decade and a stint as an anchorman for a CBS affiliate.
And then came the speeches, 7 books, and the founder and owner of several businesses.
Scott shares with us how to make your business stand out and some of the tricks to breaking into the speaking world. Are you one of the millions who suffer from public speaking? Well, Scott has help for you too!
A gifted storyteller Scott shares some amazing tales with us. Like his chance meeting with a taxi driver in Jacksonville, FL and the hunt for cuff links on a Sunday night at closing time. Both are not to be missed.
I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to sit down with Mr. McKain and learn some tips from the best of the best. I am pretty sure he will be as informative and helpful to you as well.

Britt, Tiffany and I are back with another fabulous edition of Sh*t with Britt. This episode lands us in Tiffany’s newly renovated kitchen (very jealous) complete with yummy snacks and plenty of prosecco.
We start by talking about one of Tiffany’s sons, Gage, who is 13 and waiting for his mom to turn back on his “Call of Duty” game. Do you edit your kids time on electronic devices? Tiff does and we find out how and why.
We also get an update on Briggs her eldest who had a scary incident that was discussed on an earlier podcast. He has decided on a college for next year and we reminisce about our own days of higher education. I may not have attended college for any length of time but I still pledged a Fraternity. Yes I said fraternity. Rho,Rho,Rho!
Oh and we also find out that Tiffany is against selfies. (she sounds like such a mean mom, ha) And what would this ADD podcast be without throwing in some serial killer talk, teeth whitening, holiday traditions and the first male to visit the show!
I think that about covers it. Honestly, I am not sure because when the prosecco is flowing and Britt is involved you never know. Guess you just have to listen.
I hate to break this to some of you but Donnie Baker isn’t real. There I said it! He is however, the brainchild of the talented stand up comic and professional broadcaster, Ron Sexton.
On the podcast we find out how Ron began his career. He didn’t just jump into calling The Bob and Tom Show with character voices. He got a start very early in middle school doing sports reports for the Franklin Central High School radio station in Indianapolis. He knew pretty quickly that radio was something he wanted to pursue.
Ron continued to follow his passion while attending Butler University mainly doing play by play and sports reporting. Which led him to covering sports for an Indianapolis TV station. He quickly learned that TV wasn’t his thing and took a job with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. It would be an executive position in the broadcast department complete with a company car and steady employment.
His suit wearing days were numbered though when he was approached by Indy sports legend Mark Patrick. Mark offered Ron a full time job that would put him back “on the air” for Fox Sports Radio. A show that ended up being ahead of its time featuring a heavy dose of comedy over hard hitting sports.
After a 3 year run the program ended and that’s when Ron started to call into The Bob and Tom Show. His impressions are many, Tony Soprano, Charles Barkley, Jim Rome, Morgan Freeman the list goes on and on. Along with these famous impressions Ron has created the long running characters, Kenny Tarmac, Floyd the Trucker and of course Donnie Baker.
We talk about how Donnie evolved on the show, the creation of his band the Pork Pistols, and his new found fame on the internet. My favorite segment is when we talk about comedic heroes. Especially the late great Tim Wilson! Ron has some special memories to share about this wonderful comedian. (many in Tim’s voice which Ron has DOWN).
Things you also learn on this episode: Ron is an excellent high school baseball coach. He LOVES music and would like to open for a famous rock star! And yes, he has a hidden talent! All you have to do is listen to find out. State Law!

Drew Hastings’ road to politics was gravel and a bit bumpy. After spending 13 years in Hollywood he yearned for a less hectic life. He returned to Ohio were he had spent his formative years. But instead of a big city like Cincinnati or Cleveland he decided to buy a small farm in rural Hillsboro.
Determined to make his town more vibrant he ran for mayor. And to the surprise of many was actually elected. This tall, well dressed man with the rock n roll hair proved to be quite a competent leader.
During his tenure his sleepy little town has been spruced up and made financial more sound. However, after finishing his second term he will not seek a third. We find out why and how the last years in office have changed him.
In this hodgepodge of a podcast we jump around from his start in comedy to women’s rights and from polo to paintball. (You HAVE to listen it will make sense.) Drew also gets a bit serious while discussing his marriage of almost 4 years and coming to terms with his own death.
Sprinkled amongst his stories of the shredding business that got out of hand and the polo mallet earring he used to wear we meander into technology. What is it like raising a child in this ever changing fast paced world? We even hear from my social media director/promotions person Katy who’s approach to technology and social media is a complete 180 from mine or Drew’s.
Other tidbits: discover what career Drew really wanted, the name of his national silver medal paintball team, and what’s next for this smart talented mayor.
Like many artists he is anxious to get back at being creative 24 - 7 with many projects in the works. Including, a book, storytelling tour and more.

Since the early 80’s Ace Cosby has been a staple in the lives of many rock and roll radio fans. He dominated the airwaves in central Indiana for over 30 years.
Not only was he an amazing radio air personality, music director and assistant program director he was a great friend to many of the classic rock bands of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Including; Kiss, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Sammy Hagar, Quiet Riot, Styx and so many more. And on top of all that he has been one of my dearest friends.
Not only did he help me get my job at WFBQ (which led me eventually to Bob and Tom) but we have shared more adventures than should be allowed in a lifetime. Like the time we went to the Playboy Club in Lansing Michigan with Kiss members, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Bruce Kulick. Or when I played house mom to Ace Cosby and Off Your Rocker the band that would practice in my basement and infuriate all of my neighbors. Twice drawing a visit from the police.
But the more interesting stories are all Ace’s. Learn who is the nicest guy or gal in rock and roll. Find out how Ace broke into the radio business. His encounter with Michael Bolton that in a way actually effected my life. His “date” with a Playboy playmate that came back to haunt him later in life. The almost proposal involving a Jon Bon Jovi concert in Atlanta.
Find out what it is like to hang with the Jack Blades of Nightranger and Tommy Shaw of Styx. And then to have your whole world come crashing down with a massive corporate radio house cleaning.
Ace has lived quite the life and thanks to Tom of The Bob and Tom Show (who makes a brief appearance on this podcast) he is back for round two. Ace is the definition of a legend and we are damn happy to have him back on the air where he belongs!

“When was the last time you did something for the first time? “
I heard those words for the first time in a documentary at the Heartland Film Festival entitled “Live Adventurously” featuring Kate Nolan and her wife Danielle Wolter-Nolan. Together they own and run a company called DNK Presents which takes everyday folks on the adventures of a lifetime. From couples trips to discover the dinosaur tracks in Moab Utah, to an 8 mile trek down into the South rim of the Grand Canyon into the Havasupai Indian Reservation, to a yoga retreat in Guatemala. Kate and Danielle do it all.
Not only do they work for companies and retreats but they have also taken to helping others through their women’s adventure contest. This contest was the basis for the documentary that I stumbled on and cannot forget.
Four women were chosen from a group of nominations for a 4 day backcountry adventure. All of the women have a story and they all finished the weekend much stronger than they started both mentally and physically. This first contest started in 2016 and has now become an annual event. The 2017 adventure is being worked into a feature film and nominations for the 2018 adventure begin on January 1st.
Kate and Danielle share their top thrills, the things they WILL NOT do and adventures yet to be discovered. These two could motivate even this “set in her ways” gal to get off the couch and onto a mountain bike. Well, maybe…

This Halloween I decided to revisit the Friday the 13th with the ultimate Jason, Kane Hodder. I co-hosted this episode with Josh Arnold.
Before I bring Jason back from the dead, I talk with my producer, Brad Shoemaker, about a new venture he is working on called the "Don't Flinch" podcast. Think of it like the old 30s and 40s radio horror dramas. Find out the multiple ways you can participate.
Don't Flinch is looking to raise funds to buy scripts, pay for voice talent, and some new equipment for sound design work. Their first episode is online now. We would love it if you had a few dollars you wanted to throw at this project to help Independent artists get their stories told.
If you're the creative type and think you can write a good script, you can submit your script on the Don't Flinch website.
Now back to Kane, the ultimate Jason Voorhees.
I am quick to admit I have never seen a Friday the 13th movie. However, that didn’t stop me from sitting down with the man, who many feel is the best actor to ever portray Jason Voorhees, Kane Hodder. For this episode I brought along my cohort and horror movie expert Josh Arnold to share his expertise.
Kane’s story is compelling, from a childhood where his teen years were spent on the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific. Then becoming a stuntman in Hollywood and working on shows like Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk, Dukes of Hazard and too many movies to list. (Safe to say if a movie had action in it, Kane was one of the stuntmen.)
Early in his stunt career he suffered a major burn injury over 50% of his body which had an incredible impact on his life. He now does work with burn centers across the country to help others. And of course, his path would eventually lead to acting. Fans don’t worry we do talk horror and movies and his run in the successful Friday the 13th Series. (This is where I start getting scared….)
He also touches on other famous “killers” he has played. And recently Kane was asked to reprise his role as Jason for the Friday the 13 video game. It’s a fascinating process to do motion capture for a game. And lets not forget he is also a part of a paranormal group called The Hollywood Ghost Hunters. Does he really believe in ghosts? We not only find out the answer to that question but also to what scares him. And learn about his latest film, a horror comedy, called “An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)”. The premise of which is quite funny if not a bit unsettling for a horror novice like me.
I started out scared of Jason and ended up in awe of Kane! Enjoy!
To find out more about Kane Hodder go to: KaneHodderKills.com or HollywoodGhostHunters.com and don’t forget to check out his documentary:
To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story
Let’s face it cancer SUCKS! In one way or another we have all been effected by this horrible disease. My guest this week has lived through some of the scariest words ever uttered: “you have cancer”. Vince Todd was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease (a blood cancer) at the tender age of 26. He shares with us what it was like to hear his diagnosis and enduring the 7 months of chemotherapy that followed. Halfway through the treatment he was gifted Lance Armstrong's book and became inspired to help others like Lance did with his LIVESTRONG foundation. So, he and his wife Cindy threw a party hoping to raise 10,000 dollars. They called on family and friends and brought in close to 45,000 dollars that first year! The Heroes Foundation was born and now they annual “beer kegger” has turned into a 700+ gala and 4 other annual events. This years “An Evening With Heroes” will be held on January 20th 2018 at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The special guest speakers is Samantha Smith, widow of Butler basketball standout Andrew Smith who lost his battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in early 2016. Money raised will help in three areas, Research, Prevention and Support. So dress up, get a babysitter and make it a weekend getaway to help others. Vince is a 17 year survivor and proving that cancer doesn't always win. In fact sometimes it is the reason to throw a really awesome party.

Dave Dugan, probably best known as the voice Bart McAlister as well as many other characters from the Bob & Tom Show over the years, joins us in the studio.
We talk how he began his radio career, what led him to LA for comedy and voiceover work, his entrance to the Bob & Tom Show, a couple of funny stories from some Bob & Tom trips and also his latest comedy tour "Dugan's Aren't Losers".
We hope you enjoy the show.
Update: New intro and close, as the Comedy Club Dave was going to headline this week (October 27 - 29) is closed. Crackers Comedy in Broad Ripple has been shut down... New intro and close have been added to the podcast to reflect this change
I don’t know about you but I have been in a bit of a funk lately. When that happens I call on Dr. Will Miller! Sit in on my “free” session. We discuss the horrible tragedies that have been occurring nationwide. How do we cope with “bad news” that is forced upon us from every angle? His answer, relationships. We can not hope to be anxiety free without the help of friends and family. And in some cases your friends are your family. Never take that for granted and surround yourself with your “village”. Set down your devices and spend some quality time with the ones you love. It can work wonders to relieve anxiety and the feeling of isolation. We also dip into talking about death. Not a ha ha subject but one that all of us will face. I have a great deal of trouble dealing with this issue. Sound like you? Let Dr. Will help. We finish up with a wonderful metaphor for life using the PBS series Downton Abbey as a model. I felt so much better after our visit. I hope you do as well.

You may know him from The Late Show with David Letterman where Bill Scheft served as a writer for 24 years. However, there is much more to this brilliant former stand up comedian. I spoke with Bill recently via Skype from his home in NYC and we had a lot to catch up on. Since his last visit on The Bob and Tom Show Bill had lost his job following Letterman’s retirement. An even bigger blow was dealt when his wife, a pioneering figure amongst female comics, Adrianne Tolsch died after a long illness. We start the show talking about these two important topics. And not without a few laughs even when the subject is far from funny. Dealing with grief is such an individual process and Bill is gracious enough to share how he is coping. I can give you a hint. He is blessed with a wonderful support group including friends and family. Oh and the 29 yr old niece who now shares his apartment complete with a pet bunny named Albert. (yes there is a story there)
The novelist, Bill Scheft announces his latest project: “Is It Everything I Said”, Tommy Dash Apologizes. A collection of installments featuring a fictionalized stand up comic named Tommy Dash. Stories based on real situations either he or other comedians have encountered in their careers. Then we discuss music. His band The Truants performs in and around NYC playing British Invasion music and nothing after 1967. They DO NOT play “Do the Freddy” by Freddy and the Dreamers. (Take that Tom Griswold!) And they are available for your private party! Find out more at thetruantslive.com. Bill shares a great Paul McCartney story and touring with the band Tower of Power. Bill is now working on 2 projects for satellite radio including a podcast interviewing comics about relationships. I have been blessed in my life to meet amazingly talented people and Bill Scheft is at the top of the list. Enjoy!

Let’s face it every now and then it we need an escape. I give you myself, Tiffany and of course Britt. This show was recorded on a Friday complete with pizza and beer! Some of the subjects we discuss, life hacks, cooking, my ever growing fascination with cars and the Royal Family. Did you know that Tiffany has a REAL infatuation for Princess Diana? Complete with souvenirs! And we also talk about a subject no-one wants to address, funerals. This comes up because of the death of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. Find out which of the three of us loves funerals and which one has already planned hers. Never a dull moment when we get together. So crack open a cold one and join us!
In between two shows, we were able to catch up with Comedian Greg Hahn, a frequent guest on The BOB & TOM Show and is a completely unique comedian. His energy is notorious. A former Marine, we talk about what it was like coming from military life to become a comic. The steps in between, some of his jobs and what made him realize he could do this. We even delve into his friendship with Daniel Tosh (Tosh.0) and more.
Check out Greg Hahn in person, you won't be disappointed.
I recently had the opportunity to drag out the microphones on a Girls Night Out. 7 of my best girlfriends and I met up at a local Mexican restaurant. After, several rounds of margaritas the inhibitions were lowered and some pretty funny stories emerged. (and yes we took Uber-DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE) We discuss, sex, how some met their husbands, dating at a certain age, and drunken antics. Find out which of my friends has great t*ts. Yes, we refer to them a lot. Frankly this show is a glimpse into what women talk about when men aren’t around and they have had one too many. I hope you enjoy!

Ron Capps is the current NHRA FC World Champion in the NAPA Auto Parts Dodge Charger R/T! A crown that eluded him 4 times before 2016. One of the only titles he has still not claimed is the US Nationals Title. This year, 2017, I sat down with Ron in the NAPA Auto Parts trailer in the midsts of his very busy pit and we talk about “the big one”. Even with a World championship under his belt, he wants Indy! Ron shares his love of a sport he was literally born into. Dad was a driver and worked on cars not only for himself but friends. Ron grew up hanging with his Dad and helped to work on cars before he ever became a driver. If you have never been to a drag race in person it is something to experience. Even as a spectator you can feel the power. The ground shakes, the air smells of burning nitro and the sound! For a little under 4 secs your heart skips a beat and you hold your breath. If you are the driver its magnified by throwing in G forces. 6 g’s on the start and 7 to 8 g’s when the shoot pops out to help stop you. Ron walks us threw that feeling and what happens when your parachute doesn't deploy. A scary scenario that happened as last years US Nationals. We also find out about Ron’s love for other forms of racing, heroes, UFC fighting and Rock n Roll. When we recorded this interview it was the Saturday of race weekend. On Monday afternoon Ron lost in the Final Round at Lucas Oil Raceway at the 2017 US Nationals to J.R. Todd by .026th of a second. We will be watching and cheering for Ron the rest of the season as the Countdown to the Championship begins…

Comedienne Ms Pat has lived a life most of us cannot even fathom. She grew up in Georgia at the height of the crack epidemic with an alcoholic mother and a father who was not around. Sexually abused as a child, pregnant at the age of 13 and the mother of two by 15. Pat learned quickly that life on the streets is not what she wanted for her kids. Especially after being shot by her babies daddy. Determined to find a better life she received her GED. And with the encouragement of her case worker on Bill Clinton’s Welfare to Work program attended an open mic. She found she could make people laugh with her amazing stories. She also met and married her current husband who has stood by her since. We chat about her life and her new book, Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat: Patricia Williams.
Pat shares with us her families reaction to the book, the power of forgiveness, threats us to a tale that’s not in the book and her favorite pro wrestler growing up! We also learn how a couple of adults who crossed her path as a child played an important role in Pat breaking the cycle of poverty and living in the “hood”. It is not surprising that this powerful woman is now seeing the success she so deserves.

Boxing vs MMA! We preview the upcoming Floyd Mayweather - Conor McGregor fight with former heavyweight champ Lamon Brewster and his business partner John King. Brewster and King met when both were fighting in the 1991 National Golden Gloves.
While King went into the business side of things Lamon continued to box. He won his WBO title in a stunning upset over Wladimir Klitschko on April 10th 2004. Relive that monumental fight through the Champs eyes. We talk about how his life changed once he had the title and what it took to defend said title.
Lamont suffered a detached retina in the first minute of the first round in a unanimous decision loss to Sergei Liakhovich on April 1st 2006. He went on to fight again but received further damage to his eye contributing to his retirement in 2011. He also recounts the time he attended a reunion of all Heavyweight champions, except George Foreman and Muhammad Ali, at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood Florida.
Could these exceptional athletes leave it in the ring? Find out. And we dive into the old adage, sex or no sex before a fight. Lamon Brewster continues to inspire and remain a positive influence on the next generation of boxers.
(and he does pick of winner of the big fight!)
Normally when Britt, Tif and I get together its hardly serious. This week is different. Tiffany lived through every parents nightmare a few weeks ago. She goes into great detail about the night her oldest son ended up hospitalized from alcohol poisoning. This could happen to any of us at any point in our children's lives. Are you prepared? How do you talk to your child about drinking? Do they know they can call for help and NOT get in trouble? Many of us, myself included, have teens going off to college. NOW is the time to sit them down and let them know of the serious consequences of binge drinking. Not only is it illegal it can be deadly. Ok, and even though the subject is sobering our show is not without laughs or some f'bombs. (Thanks Britt) Later in the program we lighten things up with finding Britt a date and discovering the "T". You may not let your child listen to this one but I hope you learn something you can pass along. Here's to a safe Back to School season.

This former MMA Champion has now become a champion for others. Chris fills us in on a career that began in 1993 as a UFC fighter and also included a stint in boxing. A journey that earned him multiple championships and honors. Find out what it takes to compete at this level.
Also Chris compares the two disciplines and offers one strong opinion on how to make them better. We also discover that at one point he tried his hand at politics. He was not successful at the polls but he certainly learned a lot about the political process.
When he is not fighting Chris is a full time firefighter. A job he loves right down to the cooking. You will also find Mr. Lytle, speaking at schools in honor of the Chris Lytle Foundation an anti-bullying foundation, training the new up and coming stars in the world of the UFC and he has teamed up with Pat McAfee and Barstool Heartland with his MMA 2 minute drill. AND he also works with Todd McComas also of Barstool on a podcast called “Behind the Badge”. I am tired just writing this paragraph.
Throw in a wonderful wife and 4 children and you have one very active, interesting, and wonderful human being. Chris “Lights Out” Lytle is a special person with an inspiring message. Let him inspire you!

I am back… with radio sports host and reporter for the IndyCar Series, Jake Query.
Jake is one half of the Query and Schultz show which is heard weekdays from 3p-7p on the iHeart Radio app or if you live near the Indianapolis area, Fox Sports 97.5 and WNDE 1260. Wether he is hosting his show or covering the Indy 500 Jake really stands out.
His knowledge of sports is vast and more importantly entertaining. Jake has a memory unlike anyone I have ever known and it’s not just full of sports stats. No, Jake is well versed on history, crime, presidents, cemeteries and more.
He also fosters a love for his hometown, Indianapolis, that is admirable. In fact, if he were to select his own tombstone it would read, "Here lies a man who loved life as much as he loved the city he lived in". I wouldn’t be surprised if someday he isn't mayor! And although a born and raised Hoosier, he travels over 500 miles one way to see his favorite college football team the Clemson Tigers every fall.
We cover these topics and more on the show this week. I have had the pleasure of knowing many professional broadcasters, Jake is on of the most fascinating.
Enjoy!
To find out more or contact Jake on Twitter: @jakequery
While Kristi is back from vacation, I, her humble producer, am not. Since I am the cause of this week's episode not being new, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite throwback episodes where we talk with Jimmy 'Mad Dog' Matis.
It's one of my favorites because I worked with Jimmy for 11 years at Q95 and he has a long history with the Bob and Tom Show. Plus, along with the Bob episodes, it's another sneak behind the curtains of one of the longest running morning shows in America.
Ron Jeremy the #1 Porn Star of All Time joins me this week. Ron’s career in adult cinema began in 1978 and he continues to work in the business today. One of those appearances happens on July 15th and 16th 2017 at the Ponderosa Sun Club in Roselawn In. Ron, along with other celebrities, are part of the annual Nudes a Poppin’ event. The top male and female adult entertainers from across the country compete for some big prize money and coveted titles. In case you would like to attend, Ron has all the details.
Then we get into a discussion on how some things have changed in the adult film industry since his early days. The word “bukkake” is brought up again on my show. Find out why. Hear what Ron is “up” to at this point in his career. (I will give you a hint to one of the latest ventures, “virtual reality”). He shares with us a couple of movie ideas he has had for quite sometime. I assure you they are very unique!
And did you know that he appears in Kid Rock’s video for Cowboy playing piano? Yes, music is also important to Mr. Jeremy. He plays not only piano but violin and harmonica.
And probably the biggest surprise to me was finding out his mom was a spy for the USA in World War II. That’s not the only war hero in Ron’s family. We learn about two Purple Hearts bestowed on his relatives. Yes we can talk seriously for a few moments then it swings back to porn. We find out our “porn names” using the first pet - street you grew up on formula. Who is the most famous person to say hi to him? Has he shook hands with a President or Presidents? What turns him on? Does he use ED drugs? Answers to these questions and more with the “Hedgehog” himself, Ron Jeremy.

Enjoy!

Every now and then the time comes when we have no show for the week. Guest falls through, Kristi breaks her ankle, or some other act of God.
Although we take great pains to try and release a new show every week sometimes it just isn't possible.
So as a throw back to meeting Britt... We are airing the very first Stuff with Britt episode.
I won't lie... listening to the intro and realizing that is how we once started the show is very amusing... it's always fun to see how the show has grown from the early days... and knowing Britt was right there at the very beginning (3rd episode in fact) is amazing. Enjoy this rebroadcast of our very first interaction with Britt and the stuff she says.
Thanks,
Producer Brad "BS" Shoemaker (taking control of the show notes for the week...)
ORIGINAL SHOW NOTES
WARNING: NOT FOR THE WORKPLACE.
Our friend, who will go by the name Britt for the podcasts, is raw and funny whether she is describing the "grey" dating area she finds herself in after her recent divorce or the act of butt chugging. The bottom line is she likes her boobs.
Kristi Lee's class remains intact but does mention the word penis. It is just three gals sitting around the table talking like they would if they were at a bar. Topics ranged from sexting to tit pics to maintaining groomed or ungroomed lady parts.
This isn't the last time you'll hear from Britt...
John Evans began comedy in Tulsa Oklahoma back in 1996. Since that first open mic he moved to Minneapolis, LA, and Pittsburgh. Along the way he has had countless comedy club dates, performed on Live at Gotham and was a semi-finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. However, his biggest stage is the one he stepped onto about 11 months ago when he decided to get sober. We discuss this life changing moment and how his career and relationships were effected.
He shares an especially private moment that occurred when he ran across letters his father had sent his mother while stationed in Vietnam. And how he is now a better father to his own two sons. John also talks about growing up in the 70’s (his favorite era) and his love of thrifting. A love that led him to open his own vintage store in Pittsburgh for a time.
With a new found sobriety and a wealth of new material look for great things to come from John Evans! Enjoy our conversation and look for him on social media: @thriftstoreguy on Twitter and he is updating his website: JohnEvansComedian.com
Meet the newest member of the Bob and Tom Show family, Jeff Oskay! Jeff has worn many hats in his career, but the most important is that of DAD! On this Father’s Day week we celebrate all dads by discussing Jeff’s experience being a single dad or as he says “single parent”. Ok sure we talk about others things too… moving on from being “single” to a committed relationship with his girlfriend Maggie and her two daughters. Combining the two families, oh and chickens and goats! Jeff and family are now the proud owners of 7 backyard chickens and he hopes to add to his menagerie at some point in the future. If I haven't enticed you to listen yet we also talk comedy. Jeff is a stand up comic who not only writes for the Bob and Tom Show but also performs in comedy clubs across the country. And he has just added becoming the guy “behind the scenes” on our VIP video feed. This show has a little bit of everything and you might even end up with a dozen fresh eggs. Yum!
Good news, Britt and Tiffany are back! Bad news, we did this show sober. That doesn’t mean it is PG oh no…
We start out innocent enough talking about high school graduations, teaching children about money, our credit score competition and more. Then work our way up to what Britt wants in a man, Mother’s Day, who is a rule follower and who isn't and my upscale grill cleaning. We end with who has gotten black out drunk, who falls down when drunk and gray pubic hair. You will learn a new term: twat waffle. So stick with this one it’s worth the wait.
Britt always brings out the best in us!
A self proclaimed “gypsy”, Karen is a marvelous Stand up comic, Paranormal Investigator, Tarot Card Reader, and Reiki Master. We talk about all of the above in this weeks podcast. I have never taken so many notes while talking to a guest. From being a cigarette girl in Vegas to stand up stages around the world and knowledge of the paranormal, Karen is simply fascinating. We learn about fairies, guardian angels, paranormal investigations, tarot card readings (mine included), demonology, reincarnation, reiki and more. Her belief in Jesus and why she thinks he hangs with Buddha. Karen also talks about her own podcast which she hosts with comedian Kira Soltanovich. The two read tarot cards for fellow comedians at Karen and Kira Can Read! This is one of my favorite podcasts to date. ENJOY!

After 4 years (it seemed like 1), my favorite employee of The Bob and Tom Show has decided to move on. Jeff Vibbert came to us as a kid fresh out of college with a dream. We hear about his aspirations and goals as an up and coming comedian who has taken a detour on that career path. Jeff is now working for ex-punter for the Indianapolis Colts Pat McAfee’s new venture at Barstool Sports. Jeff is a perfect fit for the hilarity and bro buddy of Barstool Heartland. He has already experienced his first trip to NYC along with hosting the online “The Things You Missed” segment of Barstool Heartland. Find how Jeff has landed on a show that is perfect for his talent, relive the famous “Beer Mile” segment, why he hates magicians and more. And don’t forget you can still hear Jeff on his own podcast “The Jeff Vibbert Podcast” and on Chick McGee’s podcast “The Chick McGee Show”.
To find out all you about Jeff check out his website: JeffVibbert.com
My love for comedy and wonderful comedians continues with my guest this week the talented Carmen Lynch. Her professional credits include: Conan, Inside Amy Shumer, The Late Show with David Letterman and more. Carmen has an interesting background having spent many of her formative years living in Barcelona Spain, her mothers home. The story of how her American father met her mom sounds like a romance novel and has left Carmen with a unique view of love and a wealth of material. We also delve into her fascination with death. (and yes, she even makes the subject funny!) Carmen is about to embark on a tour overseas that includes the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as she promotes her new album “Dance Like you Don’t Need the Money”!

I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with former Kiss and current Grand Funk Railroad guitarist Bruce Kulick and his lovely wife Lisa recently. What transpired may be a surprise to hard core Kiss fans or classic rock fans of GNR.
Seems the Kulick’s have a fondness for the songs of The Great American Songbook or standards. While Bruce’s guitar playing is world renowned, his wife Lisa Lane Kulick has an amazing singing voice. She spent 3 years in a one-woman cabaret show in NYC.
In this interview they talk about blending their two different musical backgrounds into a brand-new single, “If I Could Show You”. Hear the song and find out how this husband and wife became a musical duo.
Will there be more collaborations in the future? Let’s find out.
You can download the song “If I Could Show You” through Apple Music/iTunes and Spotify

First show back from the Spring Break/Leg Break saga and who better than to have as a guest than Marilene Isaacs Kauffman. Marilene is a natural healer, and intuitive counselor (psychic the old term).
She will discuss why my leg is broken, what it means and then will do some hands on “healing”. We get into the discussions on unconditional love, heaven and hell, karma vs dharma, meditation and so much more.
Find out why Marilene hates the term “New Age”. And relive our experience meeting the Dalai Lama (and Steven Seagal) many years ago. I also ask her what she thinks of those who doubt her abilities. So “live in the moment” with us now….
To reach Marilene: centerofpeace.com
I planned to have a new show ready this week; however, due to my leg, a new cast (pictured), and probably a bit of the meds, I'm revisiting my talk with Marc Maron in a Bloomington hotel room. It was an interview that I enjoyed doing and there was so many interesting things we talked about that it's worth a second listen.
Marc takes us through his many ups and downs in life and he is on a BIG up right now. We chat about the stand up process, how this whole comedy thing started, and happiness.
As one of the most successful podcasters in the business we delve into how that came about and some of the famous guests he has talked with in his garage studio in California. He shares what led up to one of the most famous podcasts of all time, The President of the United States, Barrack Obama. And let’s not forget his semi auto-biographical show that just ended on IFC, Maron. After four seasons Marc decided to put an end to the comedy, we find out why.
Next week I'll be back with an all new episode. Until then, Be Kind!
ReBroadcast: Let’s get to the know the newest member of The Bob and Tom Show, Josh Arnold! After "guest hosting" for the past few month it’s official, comedian Josh Arnold has been hired full time to round out the cast of The Bob and Tom Show which also consists of Tom Griswold, Chick McGee and me, Kristi Lee.
This St. Louis native stuck around in the studio after a recent show and talks about how he landed this coveted job. We delve into his career as a standup. (which began with his first joke being told in kindergarten!) His detour to teach English in South Korea for a few years. His interest in Horror films and Romantic comedies. His writing skills which has led him into screenwriting and the making of The Impersonators written by and starring Josh.
There is also the more serious side of Josh. Both he and his father suffer from Panic Disorder or Panic Attacks. He explains how that affects his life and how he deals with it on a daily basis.
And although he claims NOT to have a hidden talent we do find out that Josh is teaching himself to play the harmonica!
All in all, I think you will agree that while Bob Kevoian will NEVER be replaced, Josh Arnold is a wonderful addition. We are lucky to have found him.
A mysterious death connected to the JFK assassination is the subject of a new book by author, attorney, legal analyst and TV personality Mark Shaw. "The Reporter Who Knew Too Much" focuses on the career and death of What's My Line? TV star, celebrated journalist and revered investigative reporter Dorothy Kilgallen.
When Kilgallen was found dead in her Manhattan apartment in November of 1965 of an alleged drug overdose, no investigation occurred despite a staged death scene and suspicions by those closest to her that she had been murdered. Why murdered? Mark's book reveals that Dorothy was covering the trial of Jack Ruby and was the only reporter to actually interview Ruby twice. She also had a source inside the Warren Commission and was convinced that Oswald had not acted alone in the assassination of President Kennedy.
Was her search for the truth and the threatened tell-all book she was writing for Random House the motive for murder? Mark Shaw discusses his true crime "whodunit" book with me and the possibility of the case being reopened after 52 years. Dorothy Kilgallen was denied justice following her death. That is, until now!

Most of us have been to a concert, not many of us have made it a career. My guest has the envious job of being up close and personal with the top entertainment acts and bands of our time. Meet Steve Gerardi. Steve has worked in the concert business since the early 80’s. A passion that started with his first concert, Edgar Winter, at the age of 15.
Steve has stories about nearly any band you can think of, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, Gun’s and Roses, Metallica, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, you get the idea. We talk about what it was like to work with Chuck Berry, Frank Sinatra, and Aretha Franklin.
Find out which acts are divas and the band he hated. If you love music you will love Steve and his memories. To find out more or to book a band for a corporate event you can reach Steve at Stevegerardi@sg-entertainment.net!
Rock On!
Most of you are familiar with therapist, keynote speaker, professor and former stand up comedian Dr. Will Miller. He was the first guest I ever had on my podcast and you may have heard him on one of his many visits to The Bob and Tom Show; However, his wife Dr. Sally Miller is just as engaging and interesting and she joins us today as well.
Sally is a national authority and speaker on coping with a loss. She has written books on the topic, (Mourning & Dancing: A memoir of grief and recovery), made appearances on TV talk shows, and tours extensively discussing a topic that makes many of us uncomfortable. Not Sally; however, she loves to talk about grief and loss and she speaks from the heart.
At 24 she suffered the tragic loss of her husband unexpectedly. She was left a widow with two children under the age of 4. How did she move on? What tools did she learn that may help you deal with a loss?
We also talk about Will and Sally’s belief in the afterlife. Will's from his near death experience and Sally from an encounter with her first husband Bob after his death. An encounter that happened the day their first grandson, Henry, was born with a serious complication. One that has left Henry with Cerebral Palsy, paralyzed from the the waist down and limited use of one arm.
Now, at 23, Henry is an inspiration to all who meet him. He works for the Purdue Women’s Basketball team as a statistician and is a delight to all of his friends and family. Sally is on a personal crusade to help Henry and others with physical disabilities.
She is spearheading a program to build "Henry’s House" on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.This self-sustaining co-op will be designed so that people with physical challenges yet intellectual abilities would be responsible for their own care. While tenants without disabilities would provide help with simple tasks. The mission is simple give people like Henry the chance to live independently. YOU CAN HELP MAKE THIS HAPPEN. If you would like more information on “Henry’s House” , find them on Facebook, or check out their Go Fund Me page: gofundme.com/ecxunyks.
Also be sure and check out Dr. Will’s podcast at DrWill.com. I hope you find this show as special as I do.
Until next time:
Be Kind!
It’s been awhile but Britt and Tiffany are back! I have to admit this show has a little bit of something for everyone and a lot of something for a few. We talk about Tiffany’s weekend getaway with her husband which includes a serious reflection of 9/11. Moves to Britt attending a dance at West Point while in college. Then it’s on to Cards Against Humanity. A discussion that includes a vocabulary lesson not for the timid. And I mean NSFW!!!!! And all this time I thought Limp Bizkit was just a band. Back to serious with body shaming and working out. Prom, Parenting advice for Britt, and Tiffany’s trip to the Sundance Film Festival. (I want Tiffany’s life!) We wrap the show up with a little sex and menstruation talk. Find out what a menstrual cup does and learn about Toni the Tampon Coloring Book. See I told you this show has A LOT going on. Enjoy!
In 1990 you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing “Same Old Look” by Jimmy Ryser. Fast forward to 2017 and Jimmy has changed to Jim and his “look” is anything but the same. The musician, known for other top charting songs like “Rain Came” and who played with John Mellancamp, Tracy Chapman, and Hall and Oates, is now the Director of the Chronic Pain and Chemical Dependence programs at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
In part one of our interview with Jim, we listen to his music and mainly talk about the early days of his and his “taste of rock n roll success”, which would eventually play into the bigger role his life has taken. We get to that portion of his life in part two as we hope to enlighten and enterain you over these two episodes.
For more info on Jimmy Ryser’s music: Google Jimmy Ryser or check Amazon
To listen to part 2, click here.
Jim, himself 17 yrs sober from any mood altering drug including alcohol, has left rock and roll to help others with addiction, mainly to prescribed opioids. With a heroine epidemic touching many of our lives this subject is one that is top of mind. And a calling that hits VERY close to home.
In part 2 of our interview we talk about Jim's spina bifida and how he has endured over 55 surgeries. He received opioid treatment for 18 years and is convinced he was addicted for 17 of those years. In 1999 he decided to get help. He went back to college and acquired a Master’s degree in counseling and human services from John Carroll University and is a licensed mental health counselor and licensed clinical addictions counselor.
He was determined to find a better way to manage chronic pain. Including treating addiction/mental illness with the same dignity that we treat other behaviorally based illness such as diabetes, heart disease or high blood pressure. Very few people “shame” a diabetic for ending up with problems because they forgot to take their insulin or ate too much sugar. Jim believes the same can be done for those suffering from addiction.
Using an Outpatient program that encompasses support groups, a 12 step program and physical and occupational therapy he hopes to keep fighting the war on drugs one recovering addict at a time. This podcast will enlighten and entertain as we talk about the early days of his music and “taste of rock n roll success” to the continuing job of staying sober and helping others. He even pulls out the guitar for a live musical treat.
Since the time spent with Jim was so informative and entertaining we are separating the podcast into 2 episodes this week. Enjoy!

The positive and negatives of the “Big Box Gym," the power of having the right mind set, what to look for in a trainer, nutrition, stretching, bad gym etiquette and STRESS. We discuss the “I have to lift heavy weights to get buff” mentality, one that almost cost Tom Brady his football career, and ladies, yes you can lift weights and not bulk up. I promise.
So pop in your earbuds and jump on the treadmill. Or take a walk outside and listen as Joe and I hold a pep talk just for you! Let’s GET LEAN in 2017 together! You’ve got this! For more information on Joe Boggs check out his website: myconcepttraining.com
The most creative, talented guy I know who hasn’t made it big in show business, yet!
Comedian Henry Phillips has been a favorite on The Bob and Tom Show and the Friends of Bob and Tom Comedy Tours for years.
Today he joins me on the podcast to talk about his comedy, his early years in LA, family, and movies. More importantly HIS movies.
The first, Punching the Clown which was an audience award winner at the Slamdance film festival in 2009. And the sequel Punching Henry that will be released in February of 2017.
The latest film stars academy award winner J.K. Simmons, comedians Sarah Silverman and Doug Stanhope along with Silicon Valley’s Mike Judge. We find out how the films came about and how hard it is to get people in the seats to see them.
We also explore his wonderful Youtube series, Henry’s Kitchen. Which has become a creative outlet for not only his comedy but also his music. (We are including one of those songs in this episode.) Last but not least Henry has the BEST hidden talent story to date. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS IT!
To find out more about Henry and his work check out HenryPhillips.com or @henlips on Twitter.
Smart, Talented, and Funny! Just a few adjectives to describe this weeks guest, Comedian Nick Griffin, a veteran of Conan, The Late Late Show, Comedy Central and 11 appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman stops by the podcast!
A longtime friend of The Bob and Tom Show, Nick shares with us his how he started in stand up and his upcoming taping at the Comedy Cellar-The Village Underground on the 31st!
We talk about his life in New York City, his love of horror movies, screenwriting and the revelation that he has NEVER taken a vacation. Enjoy spending some time with one of the hardest working comedians in the business and one of my favorites! Find out more about Nick at nickgriffin.net and @thenickgriffin on twitter.
Ralph Harris brings his hilarious, infectious and warm personality to the podcast this week. His credits are many: DREAMGIRLS with Jamie Foxx and Beyonce, EVAN ALMIGHTY, ON OUR OWN, (which can be seen in syndication on TVOne), SEINFELD, THE PARENT ‘HOOD, LIVING SINGLE, IN LIVING COLOR, THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JAY LENO, LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O’BRIEN and more. He has had specials on HBO AND COMEDY CENTRAL. And is a regular guest on THE BOB AND TOM SHOW.
To me, Ralph is family. We sit down and discuss the early days growing up in a very “untraditional” home. How joining the Army led him to comedy. And growing into finding his "voice" on stage. We also talk about his one man show MANISH BOY. And the special relationship he has with Bob Kevoian and his wife Becky. I hope you enjoy this time with Ralph and much as I did. Like I said earlier he is and always will be family.
Step into the world of the Orangutan with Indianapolis Zoo Executive Vice President and Zoo Director, Dr. Robert Shumaker, PH.D. Dr Shumaker or as we like to call him Dr. Rob is one of the foremost authorities on primate behavior, including the cognitive abilities of the highly intelligent orangutan.
In 2009 Dr. Shumaker moved to Indianapolis to open the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center. After opening in 2014 it has become the largest of it’s kind. His main goal is to make people care more about these amazing, intelligent creatures that deserve our respect and the chance to survive.
The wild orangutan habitat is being threatened in the Southeast Asian islands of Borneo and Sumatra. We discuss ways to help replenish forests and keep the species thriving. If we do nothing the orangutan could die out in 10 to 20 years. We also discuss the incredible cognitive skills of the orangutan and the role “Rocky”, one of the orangutans, is playing in the origins of spoken language.
Fascinating insight and conversation with one of the leaders in his field. I hope you are inspired to help these spectacular animals. For more information please go to: indianapoliszoo.com or check out Dr. Rob on twitter @RobShumaker
Get ready to be “knocked out” by my guest this week. He may only stand 4ft 4in tall but comedian Brad Williams packs quite a talented punch. Brad’s comedy specials for Showtime, “Fun Size” and “Daddy Issues” and tours with the likes of Carlos Mencia have catapulted him to the best of the best in the comedy world. He also co-hosts a podcast with comedian Adam Ray called “About Last Night”. He has appeared on numerous TV shows including Legit, Dave Attell’s Comedy Underground, Sam and Cat, Live at Gotham, the Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Mind Of Mencia, and Pitboss. On this episode we cover not only comedy and acting but Brad’s recent engagement and discover his hidden talent! Find out more about Brad at bradwilliamscomedy.com.
I can’t think of a better way to kick off 2017 than with comedian Bert Kreischer! He is the most energetic, happy, enthusiastic person I have ever met. His genuine passion for his work is palatable. Bert began his rise to fame by being the “party guy” at Florida State University. Seriously. His love of having a good time became the subject of an article in Rolling Stone Magazine that changed Bert’s life path. It made him an instant celebrity. He cashed in on his “15 minutes of fame” and is now a star! Standup, movies, tv shows, a book... We dive into as many of these topics as time allows. And maybe the biggest surprise to some is the family side of Bert. Yes this party boy is a happily married father of two girls. Find out how he balances work and home. Let’s jus say, I think he married a saint! To learn more about Bert Kreischer simply go to his website: BertBertBert.com
This podcast was the best of the year. It was my first and strongest to date. I am sharing it again for those who loved it the first time and for those of you who may have missed it. The special guest: retired radio hall of famer, Bob Kevoian with his writing partner and long time voice artist (one of the Love Brothers) Whit Grayson recorded at Bob’s secret home studio. Hard to believe it’s been one year since Bob decided to retire from The Bob and Tom Show.
When we recorded this it was still fresh for both of us. Much has changed but the memories will always be the same. We reminisce, talk about the future, drink whiskey and take you behind the scenes of some of you favorite Bob and Tom moments...
You also get to hear some of those on air moments from the Bob and Tom archives. Disclaimer: the interview portion of the show was produced and edited by Bob Kevoian. Who did such a great job he now has his own podcast with his lovely wife Becky called June Bug Podcast find it on iTunes or at JuneBugJourneys.com.
If you are a regular listener to The Bob and Tom Show then my guest is no stranger. Dave Dyer hails from Michigan and has distinguished himself in the world of comedy as both a writer and stand up. He has written for Bill Maher on ABC’s Politically Incorrect and Jimmy Fallon on Late Night. He is a theater major from Michigan State and has also played drums in a band. His radio skills are not limited to Bob and Tom, he is also a regular fill in host in the Grand Rapids, MI area. On this podcast we discuss some of these things and a lot more. How did he get his start? The influence his dad had on his comedy. His favorite karaoke song. Plus the wonderful “Pillars” series he films for Youtube. You can find out more about Dave at: daviddyercomedy.com!
Tis the holiday season and along with it go the pressures of family, gift giving, traditions and more. What better way to talk about the stresses and fun of the holiday season than with Tiffany and your favorite guest, Britt. She's back and she's been laid on this Holiday edition of Stuff with Britt.
Excited to share with you a hot new band out of Atlanta NAKD! This trio features Frontman Nate Davis, Guitarist and Singer Davey Heritier, and the fabulous DJ/Producer DJ Krillz. Speaking for the group Nate Davis shares the origins of their "Soulful Street Pop" sound that combines pop riffs and hooks, passionate Motown-influenced vocals and the energy of EDM. You will hear a sample of their latest work and we discuss the struggles of making it in the music business today. Nate talks about touring in Europe that may or may not include an interesting "trip" to the Van Gough Museum in Amsterdam. There was also a memorable trip to the Playboy Mansion which included a meeting with Hef and more. Watch for this up and coming band with an incredible live show to come to a town near you. For tour dates and more info follow: NAKDMUSIC.com
Sure Adam Ferrara is a top notch stand up comic and an amazing actor but his is also a “good man”. After you listen to this episode you will understand exactly what I mean. We chat about his career which includes 3 Comedy Central Specials, working along side his best friend Dennis Leary on the Emmy nominated “Rescue Me” and countless other roles in movies and television.
On his latest TV gig he was as one of the co-hosts of “Top Gear US”. So naturally we talk cars. Lots of car talk! However, the best part of our conversation focuses on family and the important role his father had in Adams life. From early in childhood to the wonderful husband he has become today the love and respect Adam has for his dad is heart warming.
In a very unexpected twist we remember 9/11/2001. Adam a native New Yorker was in Manhattan that fateful day. He shares with us what it was like in the area around ground zero the day of and for many many days after. We could use a few more “good” men like Adam Ferrara these days...
Haling from the small isolated Canadian town of Terrace, my guest today has made a big name for himself in comedy. Ian Bagg shares with us his journey through Canada into the United States all in the name of making people laugh. His stand up has come a long way from his first open mic, where all of his jokes that were written on his hands melted away in his nervous sweat, to one of the finalist on “Last Comic Standing”. Ian shares his thoughts on hockey, a horrible reaction to a tattoo, and his brush with dynamite. We also get a glimpse into his private life as we talk about his wife and dogs. Find out what terrifies him and what it was like to hear that your mom may or may not have slept with Wayne Newton. And how could we not talk about his movie career which included working with chimpanzees. Who wouldn’t want to do a film about a hockey playing chimp? All that and more as we have a fascinating conversation with comedian Ian Bagg.
Comedian Chad Zumock joins me on the podcast! Chad is from Cleveland and a HUGE Cleveland sports fan. We will touch on the World Series, the Cavaliers Championship and Chad’s most prized possession, which happens to be sports related but NOT from a Cleveland team.
Chad shares with us the touching story of meeting his dad for the first time at the age of 22! How his mom almost named him Elvis. A stint in radio on the legendary WMMS which came to end with a DUI. A bout with depression that lead him to therapy, anti-depressants and ended with finding himself in a “good place”. And it wouldn’t be a podcast without finding out about Chad’s hidden talent. Oh and I think he is the first stand up comedian I have ever met that has never taken a selfie!
Check out Chad at chadzumock.com. He is also on the Twitter, Facebook, etc...
Shaun Latham is a standup comic, foodie, world traveler, self proclaimed “King of Useless Talents” and the Leader of “Team Lazy Eye”.
On today’s show we explore each of those topics and more. Including his stint as a corrections officer in Yuma Arizona, a friendship and working relationship with comic Gabriel Iglesias, and what it’s like to be in the world of NFL Indianapolis Colt’s punter Pat McAfee. Shaun shares his wonderful wit and a great recipe for Carne Asada on today’s show. And yes, he has a lazy eye. Thus “Team Lazy Eye” of which I happen to be a member, sort of. Find out why I technically I am not a member anymore. Fun show with a talented smart guy.
There are few people in the world who have almost been killed by an ex-lover. Comedian Pat Dixon is one of them and he tells us in spectacular detail about the experience. The talented Mr. Dixon was left with his life and an obsession with crime that he channels into his podcast, New York City Crime Report. He shares stories ripped straight from the New York City headlines and police blotters that are just unbelievable.
We also talk about happy stuff as Pat has recently been married to journalist, podcaster Mandy Stadtmiller. Learn how the two met through a story Mandy was researching, how Pat played hard to get and eventually married. They staged their nuptials at the Gotham Comedy Club in November of 2015 and unlike most weddings they actually made money. Of course we talk stand up too! Pat’s slant on comedy is unique and a bit edgy. Fascinating conversation... Enjoy.
In honor of Halloween my guest today is Shaun Burris star of the A&E Special “Extreme Paranormal” and the co-host for the past 10 years of the Ghostman and Demon Hunter Show podcast. Shaun calls himself “a collector of strange experiences” in the realm of the paranormal. He shares stories of growing up in a haunted house that he and his family shared with a “woman” spirit. That experience led him on a journey of many haunted houses and spooky places across the Unites States.
He has visited and “felt” paranormal activity in Octagon Hall in Kentucky where he spent the night with “ghosts”. You will hear stories of Voodoo when he talks about visiting Manchac Swamp in Louisiana and the legend of The Curse of Julia Brown. The most “haunted” place he has ever encountered is revealed as the New Mexico State Penitentiary In Santa Fe, NM. We discuss reincarnation, aliens, monsters and more; However, the most compelling story involves a close call for his family after a discussion on his radio show/podcast of the Haunted Dybbuk Box. It is so scary I was afraid to even google Dybbuk Box.
A chilling, hair raising show for the Halloween holiday. Enjoy but maybe do so with the lights on!
Oh and here is the survey info: bitly.com/KristiLee If you have a few seconds to fill it out that would be great!
Until next week: Be Kind!
Even if you are not a divorced parent I can bet you know one or two. We live in an age when divorce is almost the norm for many parents and children. I brought my ex-husband Adam Ritz and Psychotherapist/Emotional Wellness Expert Dr. Will Miller in to discuss how to coparent more effectively.
I do not claim to be an expert on this topic but I am not afraid to say that Adam and I have done a pretty good job raising our two daughters in a “non-traditional” home situation. I hope we may be able to answer some of your questions. Dr. Will touches on topics like, bringing in a new partner, the knowledge of extended family members, and the importance of putting KIDS FIRST!
I admit we barely scratched the surface on this topic and I hope to have another show with the three of us again. I would also like to recommend a book that helped me tremendously when I divorced. EX-Etiquette for Parents by Jann Blackstone-Ford and Sharyl Jupe. You may have to look for it since it’s been around for awhile but I can’t tell you how many times I referred to this book. I have also given it too many of my divorcing friends.

30 years ago a little film about high school basketball in Indiana made it to the big screen. No one could have predicted the impact the movie “Hoosiers” would have on moviegoers to this day not even the two men responsible, Emmy award winning Director David Anspaugh and screenwriter/producer Angelo Pizzo. The 1986 classic went on to garner two Oscar nominations one for Dennis Hopper for Best Supporting Actor and for Best Original Score for composer Jerry Goldsmith.
I traveled to Mr. Anspaugh’s lovely home for this comfortable conversation. Amongst his wonderful movie memorabilia we discuss how the end of Hoosiers could have been very different or not at all. Plus the cameo appearance of David Anspaugh in another of the duos great films "Rudy". We discuss the art of filmmaking from both David and Angelo’s point of view. Find out how the movie Hoosiers is still inspiring and influencing people today. (hint: Michael Phelps) And let’s not forget the revelation that Angelo Pizzo was once in the ballet! All in all the hour scratches the surface of a wonderful friendship and working relationship that has lasted some 50 years.
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you!
Please take a moment to fill out this quick survey. We'd be very grateful if you did.
You may be an avid reader of his column in USA Today. You may have seen him on Good Morning America. Heck, maybe you have read one of his TEN books! Pete the Planner is a seriously funny guy about a serious topic...finances! He makes often dreaded and scary topics such as 'financial security' and 'saving for the future' fun and interesting to discuss...which is precisely what he did with Kristi Lee.
This 'reformed slacker' will be the first to admit the money makes people jerks and can cause them to feel vulnerable. In fact, one of the most controversial topics he ever wrote about was 'adult children living with their parents.' Many listeners can likely relate to this. It struck a nerve he wasn't expecting.
Branding has been critical to his success. He and Kristi chat about his family, his visit to the Bob & Tom Show that he left concerned he might have melanoma, and their joint love for being an emcee at charitable functions (they mutually agreed no cussing or drinking).
Kristi hopes to publish a book someday. The advice Pete gave was simple...write like you talk. I think that would be a pretty great book to read.
We would like to get to know you better. Please fill out this quick survey link: http://bit.ly/kristilee
Bob Zany is a legend in the world of comedy. He began his career at the tender age of 15 when he auditioned for the Gong Show and he hasn’t looked back.
As a teen he became a non paid regular at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles working on perfecting his stand up. He also worked in radio at the legendary KLOS in LA one of THE top stations in the country all before his 22nd birthday; however, comedy was his first love and he eventually put down the headphones and pursued his dream.
He has made quite a career, from co-hosting the MDA Telethon with Jerry Lewis, working 2 years with Rodney Dangerfield, acting in movies with the likes of David Spade & Matt Damon, being the subject of a Documentary about his career called “Close but no Cigar” to touring the country with The Bob and Tom Comedy Tour and performing stand up in every state of the union.
Bob Zany has been there done that. And we are lucky enough to hear stories from these remarkable milestones and more....
Without further ado, lets chat with my good friend Bob Zany....Baybee!
Ben Glenn not only had a difficult time sitting still in school but concentrating on what his teachers were instructing. As a young boy, he was mis-diagnosed with Dyslexia and other learning disabilities. It wasn't until he became a young adult that the picture became clearer...he had ADHD! He struggled consistently through school (until he took an art class), and finally left a college basketball scholarship to pursue his love of art and public speaking.
He has traveled internationally as an advocate and inspiration to thousands of young kids and their parents. Ben's message is powerful, and his success a testimony to how the diagnosis can be a blessing depending on how it is handled. While he was wriggling in his seat, Ben shared with Kristi Lee, the tools he has learned after years of living with and studying ADHD, as well as overcoming adversity, into creativity.
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has one of the most impressive collections of Rock n Roll memorabilia. The man with the distinct honor of taking care of and adding to that collection is Mr. Chris McKinney.
Chris joins me on the podcast today to talk about some of the legendary rock guitars that make their home in the office of Jim Irsay. There is Jerry Garcia’s one of a kind "Tiger" which is displayed in a glass case behind the Colt’s owners desk. Quite a few Beatles guitars are in the collection, including George Harrison’s 1964 Gibson SG, and a 1963 Gretsch Chet Atkins that belonged to John Lennon. And that’s not all.
The Bob Dylan Goes Electric Guitar is also featured. Plus my favorite, Ringo Starr’s Ludwig 3 piece Oyster Pearl Drum Kit with the original Drumhead from the Ed Sullivan Show!
Chris McKinney has some amazing stories to tell about all of these instruments and more plus the musicians who played them! So join me on this amazing adventure into Rock n Roll history! Thank you Jim Irsay for allowing us to share your treasures!
If you enjoy watching Shark Tank, if you love hearing how big ideas started out small, if you can appreciate the hard work and tenacity of an entrepreneur, then you will LOVE the podcast with the creators of Edwin the Duck, Matt MacBeth and Don Inmon.
The yellow rubber duck may be an internationally recognized toy but Edwin is one-of-a-kind. In fact, Matt and Don created an entire new category of toy that has never existed. Edwin is curious, intelligent. At his simplest he is a waterproof floating Bluetooth speaker. But he has been the answer to many tired, worn out moms. Bring Edwin to the bath and he can report the temperature of the water. Edwin can be placed in a crib at bedtime for a child to find comfort in. Mom with the help of the Edwin app (free to download on iTunes) can manage the sounds and light illuminating from the duck. A familiar heartbeat sound for an infant...no problem. A soothing lullaby for a weepy toddler, they have it covered. You can even record your own 'shushing sound'! Edwin tells stories and has his own band with sing-a-long songs too!
This Indianapolis-based company is taking the technology and toy industry by a storm. They have won multiple awards at the highest levels. And, Edwin can be easily found at Best Buy, Apple and Target. Kristi Lee appreciates the dedication it has taken these former Klipsch employees to bring Edwin to life for many families across the U.S.
In exchange for a ride to the airport, Comedian Al Jackson sat down and dished on the podcast. We find out how a man with a graduate degree and about to go to med school decided on a life of comedy. He reminisces about the early days at the Miami Improv that shaped him into the awesome talent he has become. We learn a secret that both Al and I share.... and we talk prom, famous friends including Hannibal Buress and Jim Jefferies, and Al’s hidden talent! Al Jackson is currently featured on Comedy Central’s “The Meltdown” and “This is Not Happening” as well as the host of the BBC’s “Officially Amazing”. Our visit took place in the comfort of my living room so grab a couch and join us!
After a summer of frolicking on the beach in bikinis, they're back. Well, Britt is back. And, really, we all know her well enough to know she was topless on the beach. And just as you would expect they have some catching up to do. The threesome caught up around the table with a bottle of wine sipped only in yellow plastic cups because they're classy like that. So, now that both Kristi Lee and Britt are wildly single, they wonder if it's alright for them to ask a guy out. Have an opinion? And, what about weirdisms? Do you have any? Like any good conversation amongst friends, they dip into some highly relevant 'mom' topics they're currently experiencing with their kids. Some are college-bound soon which is throwing some unexpected curves. But at the end, they just kept the party going. It was Friday night, afterall.
Let’s get to the know the newest member of The Bob and Tom Show, Josh Arnold!
2008 Silver Medal Olympian. NCAA All-Around Champion. Hoosier turned UCLA Bruin. And now...a sports commentator. There isn't much Samantha Peszek can't do. She is a compact ball of energy that has a bright future ahead of her.
Samantha grew up in Indianapolis as an elite gymnast. Once she was done competing at the elite level, she packed her bags, headed west to the University of California at Los Angeles where she killed it as a Bruin. The school recently surprised Samantha by retiring her leotard. While her heart and family remain in Indiana, she loves the healthy lifestyle that California provides from both a nutritional and fitness perspective.
We sat down at Deveau's Gymnastics, the gym where she grew up, to chat with Samantha before the Olympics. She discussed overcoming mental blocks, some of her predictions for the Olympic games, and what is in store for the future. For those Instagram fans, she and Olympic teammate, Alicia Sacramone, recently launched The Gympire ('thegympire') to inspire people to keep moving.
Samantha is well-articulate and smart. It was an exciting interview for Kristi Lee and Tiffany Stoner...two enormous gymnastics fans.
