HistoryWhen I first conceived the idea of Bwise, I had sharing in mind. I have always considered collaboration the best community effort. Pure value in doing something constructive while networking and sharing at the same time. I had hoped that BWise would be a platform where grandmothers were teaching canning and cooking. Grandfathers were teaching masonry and tree pruning. Where you could find an educator local to you on any subject you can think of.PhilosopyI have always dreamed of being an engineer. Of developing a better car, or gadget. A way to capture or use energy. I only want to improve, not to be a burden.Since I was a child I thought one should invest in what is closest to you first. God, Yourself, your family, your community and your country. As part of my transition from the Army I had to ask myself what I wanted to do afterwards. It’s a big ask, you must know your own self-worth to give yourself an honest answer. I settled on property management...you could say I settled on it because it was a sure bet. I was comfortable with all the tasks and duties associated with it.  I know the return on investment. BWise www.bwise.appBWise is a fully comprehensive sales and marketing platform for the teacher, instructors, DIYer and mentor. Hello, my name is Laurie Sisson .Dollmaking has been a large part of my life for many years. I invented "The Foot" which allows dollhouse dolls to stand without doll stands and look more lifelike because they can bend at the knee and hip. All of the individually sculpted dolls I create are made with The Foot. Making One Inch Scale Character dolls led to making smaller scale dolls. Things I wanted for them were not easily available so, I made them for myself, then sold them to others who also wanted them.  The Foot was one of these products (13 sizes) and so are the half-inch scale hats.I have always worked in multiple fields: painting, sculpture, photography, graphics, and miniatures.   No matter what you learn, you can always find ways to use that knowledge. It seems that for me, one thing leads to another. Miniatures uses everything.

She pushed forward to develop new methodologies addressing intranets, lessons learned, knowledge retention, collaborative knowledge development, and more. These methodologies, based on fieldwork, were later the basis for her research papers and books, having nowadays over 1,000 citations. In 2017 Moria Levy was included in the Journal Impact Factor of Thomson Reuters.Dr. Levy led the first worldwide initiative of a KM standard: the Israeli KM standard SII25006. This standard was published In 2012 and was the foundation on which KM in Israel later developed. The tools and methods have been used to drive both performance (real results) and change (new capabilities) across more than sixty different industries and fields – at both the enterprise as well as entire field level.Ed MorrisonEd Morrison is co-CEO of Strategic Doing Networks and Senior Research Fellow of The Conference Board. Kurt drove away from New College of Florida for the last time with the phrase “organizational therapy” rolling around in his head. He left in his wake; many Rancid City Improvisational theater shows and an accidental college food-service boycott. He returned to DOE's Richland Laboratory to continue his work starting up the Fast Flux Test Facility, a sodium-cooled research reactor. When he drove away from the nuclear reactor for the last time, the personnel airlock was not breaking down every few weeks. The Camrol bearings rolled much-more smoothly. Kurt has started up training programs, support organizations, planning groups, and many of the organizational and technology-development projects that flowed from them. These projects have synthesized lessons learned across the energy, high-tech, transportation, pharmaceutical, education, publishing, and political sectors. His current focus is on: Values-based decision making Infrastructures for collaborative, bottom-up conversations and negotiations Nurturing grassroot organizations, communication networks, and publishing pipelines Facilitating policy and knowledge architecture discussions Building operational solutions to speed intelligent behaviors Contributing his cello/ piccolo-bass hybrid to improvisational musical ensembles From research reactors to research documentation, Kurt gets people on the same page and gets things rolling. The reviews tell the story. “Anyone could learn from you.” “It was like we worked together for years” “I should be talking with you more.” “You always come up with something” “It's never the same way twice.” “They play better when you're here.”

Lloyd has been a knowledge management practitioner for seven years, after discovering it in 2014. Prior to this Lloyd had a solid background in IT support, spanning over 20 years in a wide range of industries and multi-national organizations.

Having experienced the success that knowledge management brought to an IT support team in Airbus Australia Pacific, Lloyd found his new passion! He took up an opportunity to perform knowledge management at an organizational level for Airbus in Australia when they upgraded their ISO9001 standard to the 2015 version. This involved his first foray into developing a Knowledge Management framework. This framework included tools that help an organization preserve knowledge when staff exit, prevent costly re-work, reduce organizational risk, fast track projects and unblock tasks holding staff up.

In Lloyd’s current capacity working for a state government agency in Australia, he continues to hone his knowledge management skills while coordinating knowledge flows and facilitating sessions to improve support outcomes, build working relationships across teams and geographies, unblock tasks and preserve organizational knowledge. In this time, he has also been called upon in a consulting capacity by other Australian State Government agencies and even Auckland Police in New Zealand.

Outside of work, Lloyd likes to contribute to global knowledge management sessions and initiatives and is very passionate about permaculture and traditional food preparation methods such as dehydrating, fermenting, sprouting and sourdough…though perhaps not so successful at times!

BYNTK with Ivan Butina

Ivan encountered KM in 2013, when he used his community building and communication background on a World Bank Group (WBG) project aimed at improving knowledge sharing. For a year he only flirted with KM, committing to it fully in 2014. At the WBG Ivan focused mostly on community management and communities of practice (CoPs). He created and led the organization's first community management training, the CoP program, and the first centralized community management team. Because of his passion for community building, in 2018 he took Harvard's Leadership, Organizing and Action course on community organizing. He introduced some of its key concepts to the WBG's KM community and CoP program just before leaving the organization. He joined UNICEF in December 2018. Here he has been coordinating the development and now implementation of the organization's first global KM strategy and has been using some community organizing in doing so. Ivan holds a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Deep dive into municipal knowledge challenges. What will society do to improve how we govern? Bill shares his expert perspective. _________________________________ Bill Kaplan is an independent Knowledge Management (KM) consultant, coach, advisor, and trainer. My approach to KM is business focused, non-academic, and practice-based, evolved from 20 years of hands on, roll up your sleeves KM solution planning and delivery.

KM is a business discipline that must be focused on "Creating Value from Knowledge" throughout the workplace as part of the way the work gets done. It is about understanding the multi-year investments in time and resources necessary to sustain the KM outcomes that are part of your mission.

I focus on the growing knowledge capture, sharing, and retention challenges increasingly faced by organizations like yours -- mitigating and preventing knowledge loss due to workforce turnover, whether it is from retirement, job or career change, or any of a longer list of causes, affecting both your leadership and workforce.

Through the application of client specific, relevant KM concepts, strategies, and implementing practices, I work with you to facilitate your ability to deal directly, quickly, and sustainably with the knowledge challenges you face. ___________________________________________ Edwin K. Explore the use of podcasting to share stories worth hearing. Ginetta describes her experience doing a podcast for the first time. Don't be scared join the discussion. _____________________________________________________________

Mrs. Ginetta Gueli holds a MSc in Business Administration from Pisa’s university and is an AIESEC alumna. She has more than 10 years of experience in Knowledge Management and has an extensive understanding in dealing with different cultures. In her current role, as Business Analyst for a Law Firm, Ginetta is supporting the CEO in reshaping business processes and detecting shareable and valuable knowledge to increase business volumes and improve cooperation between teams.

Ginetta began her KM journey in The Boston Consulting Group, where she was the Consumer Practice knowledge coordinator for Italy. In that role she managed the intellectual capital of the company ensuring that the relevant knowledge was accessible and to promote a culture of sharing that enabled teams to work more efficiently and effectively.

After that, Ginetta joined Valore D, where from scratch she structured and implemented a Knowledge Management system designed to avoid the costly practice of re-inventing the wheel. It provided team members a way to find valuable information in unstructured shared folders.

AIESEC (pronounced eye-sek) was originally an acronym for Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales. AIESEC is no longer used as an acronym but simply as the name of the organisation. Members of AIESEC are known as “AIESECers.” aiesec.org/about-us

Members of AIESEC are known as “AIESECers.” https://aiesec.org/about-us

According to Green: • The conduit to actionable data and information are the tools and systems used to capture, store, manipulate, disseminate and present. However, we must bring together the thought leaders and experts to gain a clear view of how to build structures that enable dissemination of intelligence and knowledge. • Seeking and finding intelligence and new ways of improving the current state should not be done in the aftermath of negative outcomes. Consider if the effort of being proactive is more valuable than the cost of being reactive. • Communication is duplex. Not only do machines augment humans, but humans augment machines.
