Deani Van Pelt is many things, but first, she is a mother. When her own daughter was very young, she realized quickly that many questions needed to be answered surrounding education. Enter Charlotte Mason education. Charlotte Mason was a pioneer in shifting the way students were viewed and therefore taught. Deani has devoted her life to taking that foundation and making education better for children all over the world. Kristi Velasquez has been with NorthStar Academy for 5 years as a teacher and curriculum writer. She is married to her husband Todd and they have two children. Hunter is the worship pastor at Redeemer Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi, fundraiser coordinator for Fund the Nations, and singer/songwriter for his band, Sow and Tether. Kelsey serves as the Childcare Administrator at their church, teaches Language Arts to 6th and 7th graders all over the world here at NorthStar, and is currently authoring a course with us as well! On top of their busy lives in ministry, they are also parents to their two young children, Jett and Wyn.
