Over 6 million men suffer from depression per year, their suicide rate is four times higher than women and they're more likely to turn to substance abuse as a coping mechanism for mental health issues.
These statistics raises a question: "Are men misunderstood?"
The notion that men are exempt from pain, emotions, or empathy beyond themselves has shaped a distorted view and narrative about men, resulting in being overlooked and misunderstood.
This misconception extends from their closest relationships to societal and cultural norms, creating a narrative that often fails to recognize the depth of men's emotional lives and experiences.
On this week's podcast join me as I talk with Licensed Family & Marriage Therapist, Jonathan Gustave. Join us as he talks about being abandoned by both his parents, the challenges faced by the men he works with, and the barriers men encounter in expressing their emotions post-divorce.

Motherhood is a multifaceted journey that encompasses a variety of roles, experiences, and emotions. Striking a balance between family, work, and personal needs can be quite demanding.
So, what happens when divorce is added to the mix? For mothers facing this change, their children's well-being and their ability to parent effectively in this new situation become major concerns.
Worries about not doing enough, overextending themselves, and comparing themselves to other parents can lead to mom guilt, resulting in overwhelm, doubt, increased stress, fatigue, burnout, and exhaustion.
Oftentimes this area of motherhood goes unchallenged, causing us to not redefine what motherhood can be and look like. We adopt beliefs and outdated narratives that can keep us stuck in old patterns that may no longer serve us or our children. This can hinder our ability to grow as parents and individuals. By questioning these assumptions and embracing a new, more authentic approach to motherhood, we can better navigate this journey and create a nurturing environment that supports both our children and ourselves.
Tune in to this week's podcast as I share my top six insights on motherhood and tips for becoming the best you can be.

Experiencing a sense of failure and the belief that you've disappointed your loved ones is a common emotional response during a divorce. However, when these feelings become a lasting, permanent emotional state, it can develop a unhealthy self-perception about an individual resulting in self-sabotage, fear, a loss of trust, and even a pervasive pessimistic outlook.
Persisting in this state of perceived failure can drain your motivation and result in a feeling of defeat, making it challenging to move forward. It's crucial to acknowledge that while feeling like a failure is a natural initial response, allowing it to persist can harm your self-image and set you on a downward spiral of self-criticism, shame, guilt, and a victim mindset. On this weeks podcast, join me as I discuss three important reminders to move past this feeling of failure.

Your beliefs about your body can determine whether you perceive yourself as deserving or undeserving of love and acceptance.
Influences from movies, media, magazines, and our families have embedded messages that can foster an unhealthy narrative, suggesting that bodies not conforming to societal standards are inadequate and lack appeal. Consequently, individuals may develop eating disorders, consider cosmetic surgery, experience suicidal thoughts, or engage in unhealthy dieting.
The mindset that there exists a single, universal body standard compels people to believe that their bodies are either lovable or unlovable.
In this week's podcast, join me for a conversation with Jasmyne Reynolds, a former bodybuilder and the founder of Black Fitness Mommy. She will share her personal journey towards body confidence after having three children, discuss why women often feel the need to "perfect" their bodies, the unhealthy need to lose weight for their relationships and provide insights on how to cultivate a love for your body starting today.

This past weekend, I celebrated another birthday. Every year, I take a moment to contemplate the various factors that have played a role in my personal growth and development. One significant aspect of this reflection is the notion of celebrating life.
Life frequently presents us with disappointments that lie beyond our control. Often, when our carefully laid plans do not unfold as expected, it can limit our perspective concerning ourselves and our future.

Expressions like "I don't trust anyone," "No one can be trusted," "Loyalty is scarce nowadays," and "Opening up will only lead to pain" may appear straightforward, but beneath their surface lies profound implications that hinder genuine connections, vulnerability, and living authentically. Contrary to popular belief, your "ex" holds minimal relevance to your journey of moving forward.
Too much credit is given to someone who no longer holds the same level of significance in your life and when that's the case, the focus needs to change. When the decision has been made to dissolve, it's important to be mindful on how much you're giving "life" to this story.
While reflection is important, it is equally essential to avoid excessive rumination on this story, which can hinder your ability to process the experience. Striking a balance between introspection and allowing yourself to move forward is key to embracing personal growth and healing.
On this week's podcast episode, join me as I discuss their unimportance in shaping your next chapter, five ways on how this could delay your growth, as well as five thought provoking questions that will help you assess how much energy you may be unintentionally directing towards your ex.

When we experience harm from others, it is common to expect an apology as a form of resolution. However, it is crucial to understand that while an apology holds power, it should not be a requirement for our own personal progress.
The reality is that some individuals may choose not to apologize, and this decision is often beyond our control. Nevertheless, we have the ability to seek our own closure independently of their apology.
By finding inner strength and embracing our personal healing journey, we can attain closure and move forward in our lives. Instead of depending on external validation through an apology, we empower ourselves to find resolution and growth from within.
On this week's podcast episode, join me as I talk about releasing the need for an apology, 10 reasons why someone may resist apologizing, as well as five questions to ask yourself, enabling personal reflection and growth in this area.

One of the hardest things to understand, specifically when you were available in your relationship, is coming to terms when the other person wasn't. There are numerous reasons as to why this could be however, what gets many in a cycle of attempting to understand is that they the other person's lack of presence personal to their value.
When you continuously allow this to be the reasoning for someone else's behavior, you give away your ability to move forward as well as undermine your own worth. While it's necessary to seek understanding, it's equally important to recognize that another person's lack of presence does not define your worth or determine your ability to move forward. By continually attributing their behavior to your own value, you perpetuate a cycle of self-doubt and hinder your own progress. It's crucial to separate their actions from your sense of self and focus on your own growth and well-being. Remember that you have the power to define your own worth and create a fulfilling life independent of their presence.
On this week's podcast episode, join me as I talk about how to approach this from a different perspective as well as give seven empowering questions to ask yourself.

According to fatherhood.gov, research studies indicate that children who have involved and loving fathers are more likely to achieve academic success, develop healthy self-esteem, display empathy and pro-social behavior, and avoid engaging in high-risk activities such as drug use, school absenteeism, and criminal behavior.
While there is extensive discussion surrounding uninvolved fathers, it is important to recognize that the assumption that absent or uninvolved fathers lack the desire to be present oversimplifies the complexity of their situations.
Various factors from their childhood contribute to the absence or limited involvement of fathers in their children's lives, including experiences of sexual abuse, upbringing circumstances, strained relationships with their biological mothers, and even growing up with absent fathers themselves. It is crucial to understand that acknowledging these factors does not condone or justify their absence but allows us to understand the complexities surrounding fatherhood and to effectively support fathers in becoming more engaged with their children.
On this week's podcast episode, join me as I engage in a heartfelt conversation on fatherhood with Shon Hart, author, speaker, & executive director of InvolvedDad.org. Join us as Shon unpacks different types of trauma that men experience during their childhood and how it connects to fathering, the impact of their mother's partners on their lives, their personal relationships with their own fathers, the challenges fathers face in their relationships with the mothers of their children, and the process of reconnection between fathers and their children.

When masculinity is often discussed, the focus on predefined characteristics and expectations overlooks the individuality and complexity of men's experiences.
By reducing masculinity to a narrow definition based on traditional ideals of strength, emotional suppression, dominance, and a reluctance to seek help or support, we limit the potential for men to fully express themselves and navigate their challenges in a healthy and authentic way. This can lead to feelings of isolation, internalized pressure to conform, and an inability to address mental health issues effectively.
It is crucial to recognize that men, like anyone else, are multifaceted beings with a wide range of emotions, vulnerabilities, and strengths. By embracing a more inclusive and expansive understanding of masculinity, we create space for men to explore their identities, seek support, and foster their overall well-being.
On this week's podcast episode, join me as I engage in a conversation with Licensed Mental Health Professional James Harris to delve into the topic of masculinity. Together, we will explore the misconceptions surrounding masculinity and its profound impact on men. We will highlight the significance of liberating oneself from societal and cultural expectations tied to masculinity, encouraging a more authentic and holistic understanding of what it means to be a man.

What gets misunderstood quite often is that it's easy to leave a marriage, however it's one of the most challenging decisions to make even when it was the safest option to choose.
When marriages dissolved all kinds of questions arise. You wonder what's next, you wonder if you made the right choice, and you wonder if you could have done more to save the relationship.
It's a difficult decision to make because it often involves letting go of a significant part of your life and accepting a new reality. In addition, social and cultural norms around marriage can induce feelings of shame or guilt, further complicating the decision to leave.
There's nothing casual about making the choice to leave, if anything it takes courage.
On this weeks podcast episode, join me as I have a conversation with one of my previous clients on dissolving a 14-year marriage, navigating the abuse, forgiveness, redefining motherhood and trusting yourself to love again.

Throughout the episode, Wendy shares her valuable insights and strategies for anyone facing a similar situation. She emphasizes the importance of taking things one step at a time, focusing on the positive, and having faith that things will work out in the end.
If you're looking for inspiration and practical advice on how to rebuild your life after a major setback, this episode is a must-listen. Wendy's story is a powerful testament to the human spirit and the power of resilience.

In many cases, we are not taught how to intentionally move forward after a breakup, even though relationships commonly come to an end.
The way the dissolution of relationships is often viewed can be problematic, as it may not be recognized as a difficulty, setback, or hardship. This can result in negative consequences, such as being left to figure things out alone, using a rebound relationship as a coping mechanism, neglecting self-care, involving children in the conflict, or seeking revenge.
This podcast episode delves into the cheat code for breaking up and moving forward, highlighting the four key components that it requires.

When it comes to dissolving a relationship, a person can easily switch into a state of what looks as protection only be less receiving, less attentive to themselves, as well as the belief that they have to do it all! This approach is normally praised and glorified however, what does it do to a woman and her ability to just "be".
The word femininity in pertaining to womanhood has been a conversation that many have weighed their opinions and thoughts around online. Oftentimes if this attribute is misunderstood, misinterpreted or even misused, it can cause a woman to not step into this powerful quality that is authentic to her.
She often finds herself in what many would define as a "masculine" energy where it may cause her to display less understanding, patience and nurturing.
How can a woman embrace this side of herself that's authentic? How can she lead her home and be in this quality?

The ability to "do it all" has been the expectation and standard for black women for generations. This unhealthy characteristic of attempting to "have it all together" is a bondage mechanism for women to look and appear to be perfect.
Underneath this covering of what many would perceive as strength, lies a woman who suppresses her emotions, neglects her self-care, unwilling to ask for help, and always feels obligated to help others.
This repeated behavior of sacrificing your well-being consistently will inevitably lead to multitude of stress related symptoms, strenuous relationships and a low quality of life.
Even though this a word that many are familiar with, what really matters is where do we draw the line? How can women begin to disrupt the generational pattern of perfection, take off the superwoman cape and step into her superpower of designing a healthier way to show up for herself unapologetically?

The need to be accepted, approved and received can cause a person to dishonor themselves where they disregard their own worth.
It's often said that a woman should know and recognize her worth, however with the heavy influences on cultural expectations, being faultless and flawless in every role they play, to even being told a lie about the truth of who you are your entire life, how could anyone honor something that they never even knew existed?
These internalized harmful beliefs that we should not take care of ourselves, be boundary less, accept the unacceptable, always be selfless and sacrificial and live up to the beauty of societal expectations causes women to question anything and everything about themselves.
How can one unlearn these uncomfortable conditions and learn their worth?

One of the hardest challenges sometimes as a parent is seeing your child grow up.
They start to develop interests in things that as parents we may not always be prepared and ready for and one of those areas is dating.
Whether we want to accept this part of our teen or not, dating matters and it's important to them.
Dismissing it, minimizing it, and believing that because they're "too young to know what love is" doesn't take away those feelings and questions that they have.
Many of our teens are seeking information and attempting to navigate this process on their own, however, if we reflect back on how we managed relationships in our youth, would it have been better had we had the education, understanding and support from our family in a way that allowed us to feel safe in expressing our thoughts and feelings?
February is known for Teen Dating Violence Awareness month and according to the CDC, studies show that 1 in 12 teens experience physical and sexual violence. How we as parents get more involved? How can parents create a safe space for their teen to discuss dating and relationships?
On this week's podcast episode, join me as I talk with Mother-Daughter Coach Saundra Golden as she shares her teen dating violence experience at the age of 17, what turned her life around when she became a mom, and how communicating with your teen effectively builds a trust and deeper bond.

When your thoughts and feelings about the pain you feel becomes minimized and ignored, it's often looked at as "strong" when in reality it turns into internal suffering.
Those unspoken words, the fear of being vulnerable, not wanting to be judged, and the pressure to always be "fine" turns into silent and secret battles that you feel left alone to fight.
No matter how "strong" a person appears to be, no one is exempt from pain neither should no one feel like they can't get the support they need.

The indecision to dissolve a marriage can take years (or even decades) for a person to decide no matter what the environment at home consists of.
From time invested, constant effort, honoring your vows, disrupting normalcy, financial comfort, and changing the family structure....one may struggle in having the confidence to believe that they made the right decision to dissolve the marriage.
Many may judge you for it while others commend you for it...however, what's important is to gain clarity on making a decision because when you're in a constant state of uncertainty, you don't move forward with dissolving or you don't re-commit fully into making your marriage work if you decide to stay.
On this week's podcast, join me as I give three questions to ask yourself to help in the discerning process when you have difficulty on whether you should dissolve your marriage.

The attitude that a person should just be grateful even in difficult times can become burdensome due to the current conditions that they're in.
When a person is "forcing" themselves to just be grateful it strips away the genuineness of it's authentic purpose.
Does this indicate to not be grateful? of course not! However, in displaying gratitude even in seasons of difficulty, the trade off shouldn't be to avoid what's going on around you and within you.

Your ex isn't your competition.
What does this mean? It means that whatever they choose to do or don't do shouldn't determine what you need to do for yourself.
If they decided to jump into another relationship quickly does that mean you should? Because they choose to not take a designated season to work within does that mean you shouldn't?
Contrary to what many believe, your ex isn't and shouldn't be as relevant when moving forward. It's important to focus on who's relevant and that is yourself and what is required from you to live an intentional life going forward.

When it comes to celebrities, many from afar live vicariously through them in terms of their money, talent, beauty and social status.
This can easily create a perception that based on the curated view of what is being seen, that they have it all which also creates a false reality that their lives represents a life of perfection.
When celebrity couples split, it becomes "headline news" with many opinions in regards to their relationship life. And because many get attached, it's easy to be influenced by what's going on in their life, where you unconsciously inherit a level of fear to move in ways that robs you of the life you can have.

When a relationship is considered to be "unhealthy" the misunderstanding is that once you depart:
When in fact the emotions and thoughts can become more intense. You can also find yourself feeling sorry for them which creates a since of guilt for leaving because when you're in dynamics such as these, you may actually feel responsible for their unhealthy behaviors.
It's one thing to exit out of a unhealthy relationship but what does a person need to do "on purpose" to overcome the feeling of guilt and responsibility over someone else's behaviors that is outside of their control.

When it comes to relationships, you're often told to "never give up" or "persevere" or "stay and fight" ....but is there a time where it may be in the best interest for both individuals to intelligently decide that continuing this relationship isn't the wise thing to do?
Ending relationships can get such a bad rap. Most importantly, it can create a narrative that you're a "failure" because you didn't stay. Is staying the equivalent for lasting? Does not leaving indicates that you've succeeded? What if dissolving the relationship is the success for everyone involved.

Let's talk food...specifically your personal relationship with food & what does that relationship currently consists of.
And this is much deeper than just weight loss, counting calories, the numbers on the scale, eating healthier, what to eat/what not to eat, and working out. This is more about identifying and being aware of our behaviors, perceptions, triggers, emotions and mindsets around food.
From our upbringing, to our culture, to even our personal life experiences as well as our relationship trauma, these influences have made a massive impact on our current relationship with food.
And even though food is indeed a need in all of our lives what's most important is having a peaceful relationship around food that will enhance our wellbeing being and quality of life.
On this week’s episode, I invited Licensed Psychologist and Food Relationship Strategist, Dr. Ebony Butler to come and have a much needed discussion around our relationship with food. Join us as she discusses the impact that diet culture has on the body, relationship trauma and it’s connected with good, why “loving” yourself may still be challenging, as well as tangible steps that a person can do to improve their relationship with food and unlearn diet culture.

Here's a unpopular truth: No relationship is guaranteed however when you're not on the same page in terms of wanting commitment, then you must be mindful on giving that person your time.
When you tend to entertain people where you're not in alignment with, you can not only cause your own pain, but also spend countless years and/or even decades in something that should've been dissolved a long time ago.
Overlooking this brings resentment, regret, humiliation and even shame and it's important to be mindful on who you decided to invest in.

One of the biggest statements I hear from women is “I don’t know who I am”
And when you’re unsure of who you are, your voice (aka your personal power) is compromised where you:
And when you continuously downplay your needs and what you value, you discredit your existence and your freedom!
Setting boundaries is something that get's overlooked but in actuality, your boundaries are a necessity!
It’s a major part of your self-love foundation and when you are boundary less, you have no limits on how you allow others to treat you and most importantly, you haven’t valued your own boundaries with yourself.
On this week's podcast episode, join me as I talk with have a conversation with Chautè Thompson, a licensed psychotherapist who does extensive work with families of separation and divorce to discuss the importance of boundaries, why many have difficulty setting them, and how to start implementing them in a healthy way.

The emotional overwhelm of going through a divorce can be very taxing on a person. There are many areas to consider when the dissolution of a marriage takes place and one of those areas is a person's finances.

Can one person's effort eventually be enough for a relationship to sustain even when it's clear that the other person's patterns is displaying something different?
Do you think that your love can transfer into them showing a level of mutualism?
Do you think that if you love them enough, then they would be the person that you want them to be for you?
Do you think that because you work hard in everything you do, the same results will apply relationally?

"Giving Your All" can sound so honorable and normalized where it can also send the wrong message of what it means when it comes to serving in relationships. You can find yourself spending countless years and investing everything of yourself in hopes of the relationship turning into more only to be disappointed because the outcome didn't meet the expectation.
Is there a strategic way of solidifying a marriage? How does one balance showing up in the courtship phase without sacrificing so much of themselves?

The narrative that you're attached to mentally is the foundation in how you feel about yourself, your life and others. From that narrative, a manifestation occurs based upon the story in which we believe.
When you physically detach from a relationship, it doesn't automatically remove yourself emotionally and mentally from that experience. Leaving it all behind involves creating a new story that will birth a new vision.
Join me on this week's podcast as I share how I was stuck in my story, my personal experience and developing a new foundation for myself.

When you constantly live in this mental & emotional space, overtime it controls you. It consumes you so much that it takes authority over you.

Phrases & Thoughts such as:
“I don’t trust no one!”
“No one is to be trusted!”
“There are no loyal people nowadays”
“If I open myself up again, I will get hurt”
Are surface responses with much deeper meanings that deprive a person of real connection, being vulnerable and living authentically.
When someone has experienced broken trust from their past, it can easily rob them of their present and/or future relationships.
How does a person trust again after trust has been broken?
In this episode, join me as I give three things that you must learn to start regaining trust again.

Studies show that a father's involvement is linked to better outcomes on a child's well-being. From cognitive development, education achievement, self-esteem and pro-social behavior. Culture & Society seems to place little importance on the role of fathers however, it's vital to not discount the significance of their role whether they're in the home or outside of the home.
Even though there are many different family structures, a father's influence is critical. Their parenting style balances the style of the mother's which results in the child having the tools necessary to be happier kids and responsible adults.

For many "being single" appears to be some kind of disease that nobody wants to catch....
Chances are when you've been in a relationship for a long time, "being single" seems unfamiliar therefore not truly enjoying it for what it has to offer. When you find yourself being bothered by your relationship status of being single, it can steer you into choosing a relationship that doesn't compliment you.
Does this mean that you shouldn't desire a relationship? No, because enjoying your singleness doesn't mean you should not want a relationship. Enjoying your singleness is more about loving yourself to enjoy a relationship when it comes.

Sometimes when you're only focused on the external attributes of a person, you overlook the intangible assets that are vital to go through life successfully.
This doesn't imply that attraction and/or the ability to financially take care of themselves aren't important, however, it's important to also take inventory of the internal foundation this person is standing on as well.
Many skip the fact, that while keeping a solid relationship, there will be hardships that you will have to encounter together and if the external attributes are the ONLY things you're basing your relationship off of, then your foundation will not be resilient enough to whether the storms of life.

You're often told to "work things out" but why? What would that look like? And what would you really be returning to?
Deciding to return back to an old relationship cannot be for surfaced reasons, because everyone around you thinks you should or because you're lonely.

Being your own hero involves showing up for yourself by being committed to what you say you want for your life! It's easy to look at someone to save you and the truth is, that isn't anyone else's responsibility but your own.
This year has been a challenge for us all and feelings of defeat, feeling powerless and losing hope can arise.
I was so inspired by actor Chadwick Boseman and his ability to be his own hero despite of his battle with colon cancer before he passed. This shows the definition of a person who became the hero of their own story.
On this week's podcast, I wanted to give some inspiration on being your own hero of your story as well as 5 things that you will need to start that path!

Join me this week as I discuss this is more detail as well as 3 things to keep in mind as you move forward.

Not understanding why a relationship ended can bring feelings of rejection, stagnation and one’s own personal attempt to figure it out only to be mentally & emotionally flooded.
When desiring closure, you may have heard the statement “Find your own closure” OR “No one can give you closure but yourself”. Chances are this level of advice may come from a good place but this isn’t the advice that many need at that moment.
Proper guidance is necessary to help develop that closure that you may have not received from your past relationship.
This week is a past recording I did on Facebook called “Seeking The Proper Closure”, this will give you reasons why some choose to not give closure as well as 3 things that you can do to establish a level of closure from this previous relationship.

Divorces and breakups can leave residue of inadequacy, lack and confidence and even the mindset of believing that your worth as a woman has diminished.
Tying your worth to a relationship will always leave you in limbo on your worth as an individual.
Your "Queen" isn't based upon past or current circumstances, it's based on the fact that as a woman, you were already given the gift of being a Queen. However, there are many women who has either forgotten this or never realized it.
This week, my guest Bishop RC Blakes of Blakes Ministries will be discussing his movement "Queenology" and why this is the prescription that is needed for a women to tap into her own inner queen despite of her history as well as principles that you can apply to start owning your crown.

When couples split, there is also a "legal" side of things that needs to be handled from assets, liabilities, child support, custody and/or spousal support.
Having a team during this process may involve having an attorney to help assist.

When someone mentions to me that they've been angry for years, the truth is that anger doesn't last that long.
Anger is a feeling that is short lived and if someone is calling it anger years, months and decades later, that is considered more to becoming "bitter",
Maybe that is a word that isn't as acceptable to name however, when you can't call it for what it is then it remains.
Join me this week as I discuss the difference between bitterness and anger, its characteristics, what causes bitterness and 3 different ways to cure bitterness.

"Getting Even" often sounds sweet right? Especially when you want someone to pay for what you think should be their karma.
However, we fail to see that in the event of wanting to see someone get what we believe they deserve, we often spend tons of time and energy on them that we're unable to focus on what's ahead for our own lives.
Real vengeance comes in doing what will elevate you and not minimize you!

As speaker Eric Thomas says "If you're going to go through pain, then get an reward from it"
Many often let their pain become a ceiling where it keeps them stagnant and content with being uncomfortably comfortable.
They lose vision beyond where they are due to the unexpected circumstances only to remain a victim and not becoming victor.
However, it's in those challenging times that your pain births power in you that you never believed was there and purpose you thought you never had.
This week, my guest Jasmyne Reynolds aka "Black Fitness Mommy" discusses how she went from getting through the pain of her 2nd pregnancy alone and not making enough money to a full time entrepreneur, fitness expert as well as meeting her soulmate.

Trust is defined as "firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something". When this trust seems to be broken thoughts of fear, isolation, and even self-sabotage can take place. However, underneath those thoughts of trust issues is also another layer for deep connection.
Here's a truth: "You can never experience real connection and intimate relationships when you don’t lead from a place of building a trust"
This doesn't mean to blindly trust people neither does it mean to not guard your heart, but are you making your heart so guarded where you disguise it as protection to never establish real connection? Do you think that this is a "safe" practice to protect yourself from being hurt? Join me this week as I discuss 3 reasons on why you could have trust issues as well as 3 practical things you can do to improve and work through these issues.

It only takes a mental shift to begin a new chapter.
We can often believe that what has taken place in our lives is the final chapter not realizing that it was only a season. That "fixed" mindset creates stagnation, develops fear and the inability to see what's ahead.
Ending the relationship is not the "End all be all" for your life. As a matter of fact, it can be the beginning of something even greater. This week, my guest and previous client Marquita Rias will share her relationship story on how changing the narrative changed her life.

From social media posts to even texting, we have all used writing to express ourselves in some way.
Did you know that journaling is an effective self-care technique for your emotional health? It gives you the chance start putting those feelings down on paper instead of ignoring them. It manages the stress, depression, anxiety and boosts your overall mood.
Our world teaches us to "keep things moving" with no dealings of any kind. We're told to move on but we're not dealing with what we're attempting to move on from. With less than $2 and 20 minutes 3 times a week, you can start expressing your real feelings on paper by facing them and not running from them. This week my guest, Journal Strategist - Renee Ross will join us to discuss her story on how journaling has helped her as a single mom and when she lost her father, reasons on why you should journal, how your social media is a journal (something that many don't see), and ways you can start your journey of journaling today.

There's this misconception that when the relationship is over, all feelings are gone when that's hardly even the case. This can cause a person to believe that missing them is a sign to return back to a relationship that they may need to stay away from. The truth is you will miss them and you may still love them because that's a part of the healing process however that doesn't mean you should go back to them. Join me this week to discuss 3 things to consider when you find yourself thinking that you should go back or your find yourself consumed with thoughts of missing them and you still being in love with them.

Self care is often encouraged as "treat yourself and you'll feel better". Now make no mistake there is nothing wrong with an "indulge" but we don't want to confuse that as the only source of care.
Our "Real" care is sometimes overlooked due to not confronting those things that we need to face. But what happens when they don't get addressed? Do we really put the "past" behind or is it often traveled with us?
Ending a relationship is not about just walking away from the person, it's more about your mental and emotional health moving forward. My guest, Psychologist, Dr. Tiffany Bellamy will join us this week to give ma more detailed understanding of what care is, the long term ramifications when it's overlooked as well as things you can do in this season to make your mental and emotional health a priority.
