Recently, I found that my historical interests have been ideological conflict in the 19th century, and ideological conflict in 4th century BC. So yeah let's talk about the cold war.

This past May, the remains of 215 indigenous children were found on the site of the Kamloops Indian Residential school. Before this discovery, The National Truth and Reconciliation commission was informed by the catholic church that the death rate at this particular school was near 50.

It took many years for the atlantic slave trade to truly cease to exist but across the world that process began in in the early 1800, however it takes time, and we don't see the last slave ships reach american soils until the 1860s. But the end of the slave trade most certainly did not mean the end of racism. From the late 15th century, to mid 19th century, an estimated 10-12 million africans were forcibly shipped to the americas to be bought and sold as slaves, the impact of which we still feel, almost 500 years later.
