Remember when The Awakening was at Hains Point? I do and it was a perfect place for it, surprising and fun and a little scary/creepy. Here is a dance from back when.
Todd has created an entire world in his backyard full of fish and flowers and other critters that hide in the bush. That won’t stop me from dancing among the flora.
Lisa and I took a Gaga class at Dance Loft on 14 then toured the space. It is still under construction and is very exciting to see it come together. We talked about dance dreams. We danced too.

From September 2007. Holly Bass’ performance art piece “Show and Prove” at Transformer Gallery. Anyone could ask her to dance and only the two of you heard the music as you danced together in the crowd. I remember that the song was slow and a woman was singing about love. I kept thinking we were listening to Billie Holiday singing “The Man I Love” but it was not that song. David Morneau adds his take on what the music could have been with his 60 second composition.

Sometimes you see a space and think “that would be a cool place to dance” which is exactly what happened here. Megan did a triple solo to bring the space to life.
