Beens Talks

Musings of a 20 something year old Pakistani around South Asian cultural problems, rishta aunties, dating apps and domestic abuse. I aim to explore a lot of brown culture problems, how I feel they have materialised and contributed to some of the perceptions we face today. In this episode, I briefly explore a few comments that are used to perceive single women in our society. There are many but I have focused on the two for now, the "You must be single because you are career orientated" and "You are single so you have no responsibilities." I have also touched on the ideas of self-worth and self-love and how some members of the South Asian community have misconstrued the two to their advantage. I end the podcast by sharing a few of my personal reflections. I would love to hear what you think so please get in touch on IG @beenstalks_1 and let me know what you think! Love, B x
