Circles is a work I have been playing for while now in different instances. It is a growing composition for live synthesizers or wind organs and AudioMulch. In most performances I perform it with an ARP Odyssey and MFOS WSG/01, but also performed it various times with 2 bontempi wind organs. This composition I started working on after experiencing a live performance of a work by La Monte Young. Not that my performance can be compared with the work of La Monte Young, but with this I try to create the same experience.For this EP, which is the second time I recorded Circles (the first time, an really early version, not yet being released) I used the live recording made on May 3rd at STEIM in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This was for a Moving Furniture Records showcase, together with Cinema Perdu and Modelbau (Frans de Waard). For this performance I worked with an Arp Odyssey, the MFOS WSG/01 and AudioMulch. The performance got recorded by Kees van Zelst from STEIM and for this EP I made an edit. A longer version was broadcast at Concert Zender on May 27th during Kraak Helder (www.concertzender.nl/programma/kraak_helder_445178/)

"Dutch summers are known to be pretty wet and the year 2017 was no exception. Dreary weather with grey skies and loads of rain with an occasional lovely warm day.
This quite depressing feeling of summer I used as inspiration to record A Summer’s End between the end of August and beginning of September.
Both tracks are built around improvised recordings of my old JP8000 after I recovered it from a layer of dust that had gathered over the years not using it. The rough recordings I further edited to create the two different drone tracks A Summer’s End and September Mourning.
The two tracks reflect the grey skies and rainy days which were so present in the period I recorded them, a period which was for me actually a pretty good one."
