Welcome to the Season 2 premiere of GRACEFULLY SPEAKING!

When it comes to Tristan "TA" McLendon, so many people think they know his story but really over the years, people have taken a small portion of a chapter in his life to try to tell his entire story. Although Tristan excelled as an athlete, it's important to know that he is more than an athlete, and his mental health matters. Like many other Black men, his life comes with so many ups and downs and for too long he has held and choked on his own truth trying to protect and shield people that didn't necessarily do the same for him. As a Black woman, I love Black men with my whole heart and I wanted to take a moment to not only give TA his flowers but to give him an opportunity to tell his story with no judgment. For the people looking for the deep answers to his story, you will not get all of those answers here because this hour-long episode is merely a segway for his upcoming project where he will be telling his full truth unapologetically in his own way and on his own platform.

Too often we forget that our parents have a life outside of being a parent. What if we allowed ourselves to see our parents in their totality? What if we took the time to learn their history and what has happened in life that impacted them to be who they are now? What if you gave your parents some GRACE?

We already fail to recognize some of these toxic relationships in life as what they are which are TRAUMA BONDS, so it's no surprise that we fail to realize the very own toxic trauma bond that we have with ourselves. Gracefully Speaking is talking about the trauma bond within.

Raw and Uncut, this is episode one and I'm addressing the phrase "Protect Black Women". They say Black Women are the most unprotected people on this Earth and with this new wave of people addressing us Black Women as Queens and saying that we need to be protected, I can't help but wonder if this is a movement or if folks are just making noise.
