My Take Radio - SoundSage

My Take Radio was born in 2006. After learning about podcasts I decided to try my hand at it. I figured what the hell if it sucks I won't feel bad.I started by listening to various shows which captured my interest. One of those shows was VGN Radio which covered all my favorite topics and was hosted by regular guys who shared the same views as me. After a few episodes I decided to call in and contribute to the show and people seemed to like what I had to say. The creative fires were lit and my next adventure lead me to the Crazy Shit Show (CSS) hosted by some of the guys who were fans of VGN. The CSS crew welcomed me with open arms and recorded over 3 hours of show via Skype.Man now I was hooked and proceeded to start My Take Radio. After a few lackluster shows I got in the grove and recorded a good amount of shows which earned me some fans and lots of visits to the MTR blog on libsyn. After awhile recording became a chore and I stopped. Through 2007-2008 I sporadically put stuff on the air but the fire died down. VGN came through again in the form of their newest show Cleveland Sports Radio. Kevin (Host of VGN & CSR) invited me on to do their MMA segments and contribute to the sports show as a whole.Guess what happened next?

I decided to bring MTR back from dead and make it a call in show on the blog talk radio network. With almost 20 shows under my belt things have been interesting to say the least. Between audio issues and time constraints the show has been chugging along and has developed a nice following.

My goals are simple

Delivering coverage of MMA,Wrestling,Video Games,and Movies delivered honestly and uncensored Making MTR a respected show Providing listeners with an alternative as opposed to same the cookie cutter crap.

Show Notes The final MTR of the summer is here for your enjoyment. MTR got a lot accomplished over the summer and with fall around the corner we know that gaming news will be plentiful and there will be even more to rant about. Here is what got discussed this week.

00:16:04 – MMA – The fallout of UFC 151 continues to be a major piece of news as the fallout continues. Also discussed were the 151 match ups that have found homes in other UFC cards. 00:27:00 – Wrestling – RAW & Impact were front and center this week. If you read this weeks Buried column then you know how lackluster Raw was. Impact on the other had quite a few high points. Also discussed was Chyna’s adult films and CM Punk’s upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray release 00:51:24 – Video Games – We got a decent amount of news including the addition of Evil Cole McGrath to Playstation All-Stars as well as the upcoming special editions of Black Ops II. 01:00:36 – Movies/ TV - Robocop’s reboot gets a casting change which was unexpected. Rich shared his thoughts on Stan Lee’s statement regarding subpar Marvel films . Of course this is only a sampling of what was discussed in our shorter show this week.

Show Notes Another crazy week for MTR with a huge discussion about the cancellation of UFC 151 and the fallout for all the parties involved. Ben returned this week to address Dana White’s handling of the situation. We were also joined by stand up comedian Luis Gomez who hosts the Hammerfisting Podcast on the Riotcast network.

00:16:30 – This weeks MMA news got the ball rolling as well as Rich’s thoughts on the Strikeforce card from this past Saturday.
00:36.05 – Ben joins the MMA segment to share his insight on the Strikeforce card and begins to get the ball rolling on the Jon Jones situation
00:49:06 – Luis joins the conversation with his take on the situation. Both guys brought their “A” game to the panel this week with valid points and awesome exchanges between both of these guys. Luis using the race card was comedic gold and everyone stopped and laughed.
01:43:07 – Wrestling – SummerSlam, RAW and Impact were not safe this week. Also discussed was the top villains list put out by WWE.com
02:07:14 – Video Games - Slick joined us to discuss Dead Island’s milestone as well as all of the gaming news for this week
02:32:53 – Movies – We got some WTF movie news this week as well as some Marvel casting news.
