This week we have Alan Lazenby of Lazenby's Finacial Services.

This week's episode features Alan Lazenby of Lazenby's Financial Services, who talks about the importance of knowing "your number" when it comes to financial goals.

Alan explains that there are three reasons why people invest: growth, income, and income and growth combined. To determine "your number," Alan advises that it is essential to understand how much money and time are needed to achieve the desired income and growth.

The time frame is crucial in determining the amount of money needed to build a big pot of cash that can eventually provide the desired income. The lifestyle that one wants to have after retirement also plays a significant role in determining "your number."

This is a great episode for anyone who wants to understand money better and be financially free.

If you'd like to find out more from Alan check out his website or contact him via email I'm sure he'd love to have a chat with you.

This week we have Rachel Surtees, ''The Rambling Psychotherapist ''' Rachel Surtees, also known as the rambling psychotherapist, extends her therapeutic services to individuals both online and through face-to-face outdoor sessions held in an urban park setting in North Leeds.

Whatever compels you to seek support, Rachel offers a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you can openly discuss the challenges you're facing. Together, at a pace comfortable for you, you will delve into the reasons bringing you to therapy and identify the obstacles hindering you from living the life you desire.

In this episode Rachel will be discussing her thoughts on leadership.
In the realm of organizational dynamics, there exists a fundamental truth: an inclusive and engaged workforce, nurtured in an atmosphere promoting innovation, is the cornerstone of success.

Rachel believes understanding the essence of this truth, becomes evident that individuals thrive when they feel valued and connected within a community. This sense of belonging cultivates engagement, instilling in people a passion for their work, driving them to excel. Furthermore, this intrinsic motivation acts as a catalyst for innovation, sparking creativity and forward-thinking solutions.

While conventional leadership programs touch upon ‘soft skills’ such as empathy, communication, and conflict resolution, the reality demands a more comprehensive approach. Leaders spend a substantial portion of their time (at least 85%) nurturing relationships, making it imperative to delve deeper into the realm of relational skills.

Curious to learn more about this transformative approach to leadership development?

If you'd like to find out more contact Rachel on 07946 071 672 or via email at rachel@ramblingpsychotherapist.co.uk. Or connect with her on LinkedIn or via her website.

In this weeks episode we are talking to married business partners Kelly and James West, of TheONLE networking.Listen as Kelly and James share with us their experience of building a networking business together as both life and business partners.

James met Kelly at a networking event in 2017. After getting married and setting up their web design business, they turned their attention back to the forum that brought them together: business networking.

The idea was simple: could they take the parts of networking that had given them business, friendship and support, while removing the parts of networking that get in the way of running a business?

The first ONLE Networking meeting took place in January 2018. Of the 18 people that attended, 17 joined. Within two years, ONLE Networking reached the 200 member mark.

ONLE Online was introduced in 2019 as a way to grow the ONLE community and nationally and then internationally.

This is our bonus episode, where we speak to one of our In Business networking members or another business owner on a particular subject in their area of expertise. Each week we ask our expert to focus on a particular topic, giving us their thoughts, ideas, tips and advice.

This week we have, Sarah Johnston of Sarah Johnston Consultancy Ltd.Sarah helps small business owners to acquire more customers by systemising and structuring their marketing strategies, to consistently connect them with new customers and close more sales.

It all started back in May 2017, when Sarah handed in her notice to myher employer. Firstly, she bought a laptop. Secondly, applied for a credit card with a £6,000 interest-free limit. Then built a successful letting agency from her living room in Harrogate.

Fast forward to December 2021! After having moved to a high street office and acquired three members of staff, she sold her letting agency, achieving an impressive six figure sum!

Sarha was passionate about her business but had fallen out of love with lettings. My motivation was now to help other small business owners in my hometown of Harrogate. To increase their profits, get their time back, and ultimately, to fall in love with their businesses all over again.

When Sarah's not helping business owners get out of the “weeds” and living their best lives, you can find her at a pilates or yoga class. Additionally Sarah likes to take long walks in the Yorkshire Countryside. Or she can even be found at a Cacao Ceremony!

Listen as we hear Sarah's thoughts on:-

  • Marketing
  • Social Media
  • Her tips to help you with your social media/marketing

This is our bonus episode, where we speak to one of our In Business networking members or another business owner on a particular subject in their area of expertise. Each week we ask our expert to focus on a particular topic, giving us their thoughts, ideas, tips and advice.

This week we have Craig Dean of Influxeo

Since mastering the art of LinkedIn lead generation and social selling, Craig has successfully supported 1000’s of businesses all over the UK.

During Craig’s career in sales and recruitment, he became acutely aware of the severe lack of knowledge around the topic of LinkedIn.

He noticed that his sales colleagues would come to him for advice on this topic and he eventually became the ‘go to guy’ for those who were looking to generate warm leads and sales enquiries.

It was then that the penny dropped! He thought, “why help just one business when I could help thousands of businesses”. Having first hand experience of traditional sales, cold calling and emailing clients, he understood the frustrations faced by sales reps, entrepreneurs and business owners alike.

Thus, Influxeo was born and has become one of the UK's leading LinkedIn Marketing Agencies. Craig helps businesses generate an influx of leads with no cold calling, bounced emails or hard work ever!

Listen as Craig tells us about his journey and gives us some great tips on using LinkedIn.

This is our bonus episode, where we speak to one of our In Business networking members or another business owner on a particular subject in their area of expertise. Each week we ask our expert to focus on a particular topic, giving us their thoughts, ideas, tips and advice.

This week we have Pete Cann, 'Laughter Man'

It all began for Pete one afternoon, at a summer festival with his family, Pete heard the joyous sound of laughter ringing out from the arboretum. Assuming they were missing the funniest comedian in the world, Pete instead stumbled on his first Laughter Yoga event. And it was at this point that Pete Cann ‘Business Man’ became the man we have today, Pete Cann ‘The Laughter Man’.

As Pete says, bringing a laughter lift into your work environment can bring amazing results to your staff well-being and your bottom line.

Creating an environment where laughter is celebrated and viewed positively will create a place of enjoyment. It’s this enjoyment that will create a more productive, more efficient team spirit where everybody will pull together and feel more engaged with the business.

Listen and laugh along with us as Pete explains all about Laughter Yoga.

In this weeks episode we are talking to married business partners Emily and Paul Hughes of
Parent Guide to GCSEEmily and Paul started the Parent Guide to GCSE because they realised that, despite the £million industry around supporting students through exams, no-one was supporting parents.

The idea came when a fellow parent on a school Facebook group posted asking how on earth to help her daughter with a particular piece of maths homework. It was bar modelling, which is a newer method, so none of us had ever met it at school ourselves. Emily mentioned she'd had a similar problem with fronted adverbials… This was her ‘lightbulb moment’.

Emily did some research, and couldn’t find anyone specifically helping parents to support their children through GCSEs, and given that half their learning time is spent at home, that seemed crazy to her!

Emily and Paul wanted to create a place where parents could find all the support they need, so that they can feel confident they are doing the right things to help their child succeed.

As teachers, they'd seen so many parents with questions, desperate to help, but not knowing how.

As parents themselves, they also knew about the difficulty of getting that balance between nagging and supporting, as it’s a whole different ball game when it’s your own kids!

Listen has this married couple and business partners share their story of being life and business partners.

You can connect with Emily and Paul on LinkedIn or via theirwebsite, to find out more.
