The weekly sermon podcast from Reynolda Church in North Carolina (featuring Alan Wright and Chris Lawson). Reynolda Church is one growing congregation, meeting in different locations, alive in the Spirit, contemporary in worship, exciting for kids and brimming with the good news of what God has done for us in Jesus Christ.
Knowing the truth about Jesus is not the same as trusting in Jesus.
In Ephesians 1:13, Paul describes the life-changing progression of hearing the word of truth, believing in Christ, and being sealed with the Holy Spirit. The gospel is more than information to understand or a set of facts to affirm. It is an invitation to place our trust, loyalty, and entire lives in Jesus.
In this message, we explore the difference between believing things about Jesus and truly believing in Him. Genuine faith is not mere agreement. It is attachment, union, and a relationship that begins reshaping every part of our lives.
We have hope! The upbuilding of hope is like the upbuilding of muscle – little fibers are town down under the stress of weights and, as they heal, they are larger and stronger What you are not experiencing is not the end of your hope, but the upbuilding of it.
When you are a Christian, you are way more than a sinner who has been saved – you are an heir – a co-heir with Christ of unsearchable spiritual riches! More at reynoldachurch.org
No matter how much you might feel like things are falling apart, they aren't – God has a plan and the power to put it all back together.
God has not left us in the dark. He has welcomed us into the inner circle of His purposes. We now know the mystery at the center of everything is not a plan, but a person.
When you are in Christ, you have forgiveness of sins. It means that your sin is not overlooked, it is taken away and you are free and you are clean.
In Ephesians 1, Paul reminds us of a life-changing truth: we have been redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ. Redemption is not something we earn. It is a gift purchased at a great price and freely given through God's grace.
Because you belong to the Beloved Son, the Father lavishes on you the same love He has for the Son.
Join us today as we continue our journey through Ephesians 1 and discover some of the most life-changing truths in all of Scripture. In Christ, you are no longer a slave.
You are a beloved child of God. Through Jesus, God has adopted you into His family and calls you His own.
Before you ever existed, before you had done anything, God looked across eternity and chose you in Christ, not because of who you are, but because of Jesus.
What does it mean to be blessed? What are the spiritual blessings? What is the significance of the word "every"? What is meant by heavenly places? This is an exploration of the true meaning of the blessed Christian life.
Every spiritual blessing, every good plan, every assurance, every hope for your life is all in Christ. ALL … IN … CHRIST.
Jesus came to put an end to our pity parties and to invite us into the real party into the big party where grace is flowing free.
Come discover how Jonah's story points us to a greater hope, one that reaches deeper than our failures and farther than we imagine.
Jesus is a better Jonah. Jonah is this remarkable prophet who somehow survives three days in the belly of a whale, and goes to the capitol city of the most wicked nation on earth and, in a few words of preaching, brings a revival. Jesus is like that, but way better.
What if the news that changed everything is still changing lives today? In this Easter message, discover the power of the Gospel and the freedom, hope, and new life found in Jesus. This is the best news ever.
The three crosses of Easter reveal the two responses to grace, and the one Savior at the center of history's greatest story. More at reynoldachurch.org
Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves, and through Him we now have a new way to live in a restored relationship with God.
Many people live with the quiet pressure that they must prove themselves, fix themselves, or do enough to earn God's approval. The Gospel isn't about you doing something wonderful for God – it's about God having done something wonderful for you. That's why it's the best news ever.
Is forgiveness a feeling, a command, or a choice? When we've been hurt, loving the person who wronged us can feel out of reach. Join us as we discover how God's love transforms the way we forgive. More at reynoldachurch.org
In the same way that God's grace turned you from foe to friend of God, so God's grace through you can transform the difficult people in your life.

Early last fall, a vision emerged to bless a thousand people and their relationships. In a culture marked by division and isolation, Scripture points to a better way. The 2026 Blessing envisions people wrapped in this love and equipped to build healthy, life-giving relationships. The Relationship Blessing Beloved, May all your relationships flourish. What does love have to do with your family today? Everything.
In this message from Genesis 1-4, we look at God's beautiful design for family. Not just the version we wish we had, but the real one. The one with laughter, conflict, joy, wounds, history, and hope.
You will see three simple truths that shape the whole sermon: Jesus created family. Jesus ordered family. Jesus blessed family.
We will name what went wrong in the first home. Distrust. Shame. Blame. Hiding. Division. And we will see how those same patterns still show up in homes today. But we will also see the better news. The Gospel does not only forgive sin. Jesus heals shame. Jesus restores blessing. And He brings new life to families that feel tired, strained, or stuck. If your home feels peaceful, this message will strengthen your foundation. If your home feels painful, this message will remind you that Jesus is not done.
Because Jesus if full of grace and truth, so can our communication be. And when we learn to speak the truth in love, it changes everything.
By God's grace and a little work, all your relationships can get better in 2026. Friendships, parents, children, siblings, boyfriends, girlfriends, best friends, co-workers – by God's powerful love and the counsel of God's Word, all these relationships can flourish.
The privilege even Moses was forbidden, you now are granted – to behold the glory of the face of God.
In this Advent episode of Inside Grace, Pastor Alan Wright and Pastor Chris Lawson explore the longing at the center of every human heart. Through John 1:12 and even a few classic Christmas movies, they reveal why true belonging comes from being born of God and welcomed into His family. More at pastoralan.org
Anyone who receives Christ becomes a child of God – not a religious person, not a moral standard bearer, not even someone simply "saved" – but a child of God Himself. That's who you are. Join us for church tomorrow as we celebrate the second week of Advent.
In this Christmas episode of Inside Grace with Alan Wright, Pastor Alan is joined by Pastor Chris Lawson for a warm and lively conversation about the traditions that shape their families and churches each December. From favorite carols and candlelight services to quiet moments at home, Alan and Chris share the practices that help them slow down, remember the gospel, and keep Jesus at the center of Christmas.
Along the way, they reflect on why traditions really matter, how they can either point us to grace or distract us from it, and how to refresh old habits that have gone a little stale. Then they turn to John chapter 1 to ask a surprising question. Could this beloved passage about the Word and the light be the perfect Christmas text? Discover how John 1 pulls back the curtain on the miracle of the incarnation and invites us to see Christmas not just as a manger scene, but as God stepping into our darkness with unshakable light.
In Jesus, the eternal Word of God, divine light has entered our darkness, and no darkness can ever overcome it. In this Advent message, Pastor Chris Lawson invites us to see why John chapter 1 is the perfect Christmas text. From the first words in the beginning to the promise that the light shines in the darkness, we discover that Christmas is not just a birth story. It is the arrival of the eternal Creator who speaks life into every shadow we face.
You will hear how the Bible describes the Word who was with God and who is God, the One through whom all things were made. We will name the real darkness in our world and in our hearts, and then see how the light of Christ exposes lies, heals broken places, and welcomes us home to the Father.
If you are longing for hope, clarity, and the steady light of Jesus in a noisy world, this message is for you.

The gospel is not advice. It is news that arrives with God's own power. In this message we unpack Paul's words in Romans 1:16–17 and show how the good news does not merely inform. It performs. God uses the proclamation of Jesus to save, to sustain faith, and to form a new people who live by faith.

From Genesis, God creates by speaking. In Jesus, God speaks again. His word brings healing, hope, and a finished salvation.
Experience the life-changing power of Jesus' sacrifice that redeems, protects, and empowers believers to walk in victory.
In this message from our Empowered series, we dive into the life-transforming power of the Holy Spirit and the significance of the "better blood"—the perfect, once-and-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Discover how the Holy Spirit empowers us to live free from guilt, shame, and spiritual defeat, and how Jesus' blood speaks a better word over our lives
Because of Jesus’ finished work, we carry His love into everyday moments, so the world sees Him clearly.
You don’t have to keep falling in the same old holes – you don’t have to stay stuck in the same old negative thoughts or behaviors – in Christ, you have weapons that have divine power to destroy strongholds.
Since you can’t buy the power of God, then it must be free! So, you can are eligible. You are qualified. Jesus has paid what needs to be paid. You don’t have to prove yourself, or sweat it out, or repent long enough, or do anything – you can just receive.
God doesn’t just provide instruction for Christian living – He provides power for Christian living. He wants to clothe you with power from on high.
In John 17 we see Jesus lift his voice to the Father, first for himself, then for us, and finally for all who would believe, revealing a Savior whose is powerful, practical and personal.
On the night before he was executed, Jesus prayed. But He wasn’t praying about the torture He was about to experience – He was praying for you.
In a world marked by anxiety, conflict, and constant change, Jesus offers His followers something radically different: a joy that endures. In this message, we explore how the Holy Spirit brings lasting joy to those who abide in Christ.
Jesus promises His follower that their sorrow will give way to joy because He has already triumphed over the struggles of the world.
Jesus leaving the earth was the best thing that could ever happen for you! That’s what He said to His first disciples and He would say it again to us today.
The invitation to abide in Christ is an invitation for a life that is “out of this world.” There’s joy and peace that the world can’t give – and there is also persecution for not being of this world. If you abide in Christ – if you are lovingly, affectionately, securely attached to the Son of God – you will experience His joy and His peace, and, you will experience the hatred of the world.
Friendship with JesusWe are, of course, called to love and serve God – but Jesus doesn’t primarily want you as a servant, He wants you as a friend.
What makes someone the best teacher? Wisdom? Patience? A way of making hard truths come alive? In this message, we turn to the upper room where Jesus, on the night before His crucifixion, speaks as both Savior and Teacher. From John 14–17, we’ll see how Jesus not only teaches truth but is the Truth—and how He sends the Spirit to continue teaching, guiding, and reminding us of all we’ve heard. Come discover what it means to be a lifelong student of the greatest Teacher who ever lived.
Jesus promised, "I will not leave you as orphans." In this powerful message, we explore how God assures us that we are never alone. Discover what it means to live as sons and daughters of God—adopted, loved, and never abandoned.
What if being “all in” with Jesus isn’t about striving harder, but about trusting deeper? In John 15, Jesus invites us to abide—to stay connected to Him like branches to a vine. This isn’t a demand to perform, but a promise of life, love, and lasting fruit that flows from relationship. Being “all in” isn’t about pressure—it’s about presence! More at reynoldachurch.org
Be not dismayed or confused; Jesus knew exactly WHO He was and knew exactly WHAT His work would accomplish.
Join us at Reynolda Church as we begin a powerful new series: Abide: Experiencing Jesus in John 14–17. In these final, intimate chapters before the cross, Jesus shares His heart with His disciples — and with us. Come discover what it truly means to abide in Him, experience His peace, and live in the fullness of His love. Don’t miss Week 1 — whether you're new to faith or have walked with Jesus for years, this journey will deepen your connection with Christ.
In this message, we’ll look at how the Kingdom of God grows in unexpected ways, like a mustard seed planted in faith. Though mysterious and often unseen at first, God’s Kingdom is always at work, transforming lives and changing hearts. The Gospel has the power to change anyone—it can change you.
The harvest we long for is not someday—it's now; and in the hard, holy work of reaching lost souls, Jesus calls us to open our eyes, join hands, and move the church toward a lost and dying world.
God has deeply invested in you—through blessings, His Son’s sacrifice, and His love—and He will not abandon what He’s sown; in due time, He will reap His joy in you, His beloved, for eternity—that’s the Gospel.
You don’t have to give—you get to give. Generosity is not an obligation – it is a privilege.
God’s given you a garden, He’s has plans for it to grow, and, in due season, you will reap if you don’t give up!
No fear is so great, no grief so deep, no failure so final that it cannot be healed by the loving presence of the risen Christ.
The King has come—not with force or fear, but with humility and peace. Riding on a donkey, Jesus reveals a kingdom not of domination but of deliverance
Present anxiety might be linked to past trauma. So, if you want healing from anxiety, it is a worthwhile endeavor to position yourself before God for the healing of trauma
The truth will set you free. Do you need more freedom today? Freedom from gnawing anxiety, relentless temptation, debilitating fears? Freedom maybe from some invisible fence around your life that is holding you back? You don’t need more will-power. You don’t need more resolutions. You don’t need more religion. You just need truth. The truth will set you free. The truth is as near as your next thought! Freedom can be as near as your next thought! Join us this Sunday as we continue our series, The Untroubled Heart.
Today, we explore the profound truth that when God looks at you, His heart is filled with delight. Imagine that the word He might choose to describe His feelings towards you is “overjoyed.” Join us as we reflect on how deeply God loves and rejoices over His children, reminding us of our worth in His eyes. This message will encourage you to see yourself as God does—precious, beloved, and full of His joy.
Amidst an epidemic of anxiety, Jesus, the Son of David is here today with the same offer He gave His first disciples during their anxious days: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give you. So don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid. There is a peace that the world attempts to give – it comes through ramping up our efforts to control, to fix all our circumstances, to take matters into our own hands – and there is peace that Jesus gives – it is the opposite of the spirit of control, it is more like surrender, it is more like worship.
We all want peace – but, if we are being honest, it seems unachievable – allusive. Is it possible that all you need to do to have peace is to change your thinking, work harder, or maker better decision? The Bible is clear, and Jesus has a different story to offer.
Perfect love casts out fear. So, the pressure is off. It’s not up to us to expel fear with great self-will or great spiritual prowess – love casts out fear. All we need is love, God’s perfect love in Christ can heal our troubled hearts.
Many people don’t realize they are carrying shame, allowing it to weigh them down and affect their self-worth. But through Christ, we are freed from that burden. As a shame-free church, we embrace the healing power of God’s love, leaving shame behind and walking in the fullness of His grace and forgiveness. In Christ, we are made whole, and there is no place for shame in our lives.
Psalm 91 assures us of God’s unwavering protection and presence, promising peace even in the midst of life’s dangers and uncertainties.
While it does not mean we are exempt from suffering, it reminds us that our souls are eternally secure when we trust in Him. Jesus demonstrated the ultimate act of protection by sacrificing Himself for us, proving that God’s love shields us even in our greatest trials. This peace is not found in avoiding hardship but in dwelling in the shelter of the Most High and resting in His promise!
Life can feel like a constant alarm going off—so many problems, so much out of our control. But what if our hearts didn’t have to react to every alarm? What if we could find true peace in the presence of Jesus? This morning, we’re continuing our series The Untroubled Heart: Discovering the Calm of Christ. Today’s message reminds us that the power of the Gospel and the presence of Jesus in our lives bring a peace so steady that, even when the world feels chaotic, our hearts can rest.
The Untroubled Heart is rooted in beautiful passages from John 14 where Jesus twice tells his followers to not let their hearts be troubled. As many social scientists and medical professionals claim we are facing an anxiety epidemic, we turn to Christ, the ultimate “non-anxious presence” amidst earth’s fires and storms
God leaves no doubt. Jesus is King. A King you can believe in. A King who promises you are not alone in your waiting!
There are some promises of God that are so good, so strong and so sure, that the proper posture of the believer’s heart is not to plead for them to be true, but to declare that they are true.
If you think you don’t know how to pray, or what to pray, or even when to pray, good—you are ready to be led by the Spirit in prayer. The Spirit of God loves to help us pray.
Any Christian, young or old, new believer or seasoned saint, can have a powerful, effective prayer life by learning to pray the scriptures.
The miracles of Christmas prove time and time again that God keeps His promises and hears our prayers.
In Christ, there is always cause for gratitude. When you walk through a difficult challenge, if you belong to God, there is still cause for thanksgiving.
Every Christian is invited into the intimate, holy presence of God at any time to commune with Him, to adore Him, to exalt Him, and to enjoy Him. It is called simply, worship.
There is a celebration going on in heaven and you can join the party now. You don’t have to wait until you get to heaven. You don’t have to wait until you’ve finished your whole to do list. You don’t have to wait until you finally get the big promotion. You don’t have to wait until you retire. All those things are worthy of celebrating, but, beloved you can find something to celebrate today.
The local church is one of Jesus’s best ideas! Through the gathering and scattering of God’s people, we are encouraged, filled, equipped, and sent into the world to share the story of Jesus with a desperate, unbelieving world.
Pain is inevitable, but misery is optional! You can’t choose to have a life with no problems, but you can choose how you think about life – and, according to Philippians chapter four, good thinking leads to the peace of God.
To get rid of the anxiety in your life, you probably don’t need more–you probably need less! And that’s really good news because not everyone can get more of stuff and choices andopportunities, but anyone can choose to have less.
The practice of wonder doesn’t appear in the usual list of classic spiritual disciplines but it deserves a place in our daily practices of the Gateways of Grace. Join us as we continue our series!
We're continuing our series, The Gateways of Grace. Today, we are exploring how the more we spend time in the Bible, the more we see Jesus revealed on every page.

You were made for joy! It is possible to experience real, everlasting joy, even in this broken world. Join Pastor Chris Lawson for a good news message as we continue our series in the Book of Nehemiah.
You, child of God, have been called by Him to wonderful purposes and beckoned to seek first the kingdom of God – because nothing else comes close to such a call, you can say no to every distraction of this world.
Though critics and opponents always show up to oppose God’s call in your life, you can become like Nehemiah’s workers – carrying a sword in one hand and a hammer in the other.
Jesus has made a promise that all things broken will be made new. And his people have been invited to participate in this greatest adventure. It’s a message of hope for Christians today that Jesus is restoring that which was broken and making something new and wonderful. And the best part is that Jesus invites us to join him in this great work – this redemptive, restorative, exalting work…a grand adventure indeed!
Are you ready for some good news? You have a big God, so you might as well ask Him for big things.
The old cliché is true, where God guides, He provides. It means, therefore, that we should ask for and expect His unmerited favor

Are you ready for some good news? Those who sow generously, reap generously. More at reynoldachurch.org
God loves to give – from the whole big story of scripture, we can accurately say that God delights to give and it causes Him great joy when His people receive His best gifts—and we are made in His image, we are less than Him, but we are like Him – so you can expect that our joy will come in the same way. In short, it is more blessed to give than to receive.
he world is full of bad news – but we have good news and we are here for the good of those near and far.
Prayer is more a matter of heart than outward expression – so you can pray in any posture and you can praise the Lord in any posture.
Jesus has called us to love the cities where we are rooted and radically love the people who are far from Him.
God is great AND God is good. It means that God has all power to help you AND that God is utterly for you – 100 percent, fully, utterly for your good. The cross of Jesus Christ proves that He came for your good. The resurrection proves that He has power for your good. All it takes to trust God is to know that He is for your good and that He is able to bring about the good.
It’s not what you have in hand that matters most – it’s what you hand off. It’s good news because it means that you don’t have to have it all, do it all, get it all, experience it all, accomplish it all in order to be fulfilled. Sometimes just seeing the Promised Land gives you more than enough joy.
In the Christian community, there is an extraordinary, life changing gift available – our growth is not limited by the experience and relationship we have had with our parents alone – there is a larger family, and there are spiritual parents – spiritual mothers and fathers who, when invested in us and received by us, are God’s gifts for our healing and growth so that we can likewise be a spiritual parent to someone else.
The only thing that can keep you from reaping is giving up – and that’s good news because you don’t have to give up. You can’t make it rain. You can’t make things grow. God does all that. But one thing you do get to decide is whether you are going to give up.
It is the same as last week: Most of the good things in your life came because God put someone in your life before you, and the more you know it to be true, the more thankful, and joyful and fruitful you become.
Most of the good things in your life came because God put someone in your life before you, and the more you know it to be true, the more thankful, and joyful and fruitful you become.
Generational sin has an expiration date, but God’s love does not. Curse comes to an end, but blessing goes on and on and on.
God commands us to remember not only because it reminds us of His faithfulness in the past, but it also assures us of his unfailing commitment to our future.
God the omnipotent Creator of all that exists, made this world perfectly, gloriously, declaring over and over – it is good, it is good, it is good and then, in a breath-taking act of trust and partnership that must have stunned the onlooking angels, God told the man and the woman, to take dominion over the created order – in effect, God said, “the world is yours! It is your garden, your territory, your world to tame, to subdue, to master.” It is not only a mesmerizing thought, this delegated authority and ownership God has bestowed upon us, but it also has sin-killing, joy-inducing, life-motivating power to it. When you really understand your inheritance and feel deep ownership of your majestic blessedness, insecurity, and pettiness melt away, hope abounds, and you find powerful energy for the mission ahead.
You are made for increase. God designed this world, and you, for the increase of all that is good. He really wants all things to get better and better for you and for every good thing in your life to grow while you are here and long after you are gone.
There are God-given blessings, virtues, and gifts in you that the Lord loves so much that He’d like all that good in you to multiply and multiply until it fills the earth.
The blessing and mandate given to Adam and Eve has never been revoked – rather, in Christ, the curse has been redeemed and we, in a deeper, more far-reaching spiritual way, are the recipients of God’s blessing to humanity.
Jesus is king. A king in whom you can believe. A king you can build your New Year upon.
Join Pastor Alan Wright for this special Christmas Eve message. As we gather to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we delve into the timeless truth that amidst the grandeur of the season, He remains the ultimate reason for our joy and reverence.
That baby in Bethlehem was born to be king. The king of kings. The best king. The perfect king. The Righteous King. He came to be your king.
Jesus is like bread from heaven – the only real food that satisfies the deepest hunger. He alone is worthy of our deepest appetite.
Welcome to the first Sunday of Advent! Are you ready for some good news? If you are in Christ, you are no longer in Adam, the man who sinned and was removed from the presence of God; you are in the second Adam, the man who never sinned and gave you renewed, forever fellowship with God.
The secret to living a life full of thanksgiving is simply an issue of focus. The more you focus on glorifying God, the more your thankfulness increases.
After studying Romans for a year, if you can’t remember anything else, all you need to do is just … wow.
Are you ready for some good news? The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
God made humans male and female – and He celebrated His creation. He prizes men. And He prizes women. He infinitely treasures men and infinitely treasures women. In a world that has not, and still does not, treasure women equally and treat women equally, hell has successfully disseminated a horrible deception that says, “Christianity has been and still is bad for women.” And, in a different sort of message today, I feel called to show you otherwise. I want to prove to you that the Gospel is and has been the best news ever for women.
Through the power and mystery of God’s grace at work in us, there is a way that our duty to serve becomes our pleasure to serve.
While we know we will face trials of many kinds, as a follower of Jesus you also know you are never alone. We aren’t kept from the battle - we are joined in the battle.
The Lord is a God of hope and He wants to fill you with all joy and peace through your believing so that the power of the Holy Spirit may cause you to abound in hope. He doesn’t just want you to have a flicker of hope – He wants hope blazing on the inside of you. He doesn’t just want you to have a taste of hope – He wants you to be feasting on hope.
We can aim to love and put others’ desires and needs before ours because Jesus has done that very thing for us – it means that we can aim to please others without becoming people pleasers.
Are you ready for some Good News? One of the benefits of believing in Jesus is that you now have the freedom to serve others in ways that might just surprise you!
In Christ, God accepts you. He doesn’t agree with you on everything. He doesn’t approve of everything in your life. But, if you are in Christ, God accepts you and loves you. He wants to help you grow. He wants your life to be better, more spiritually rich and more conformed to the image of His Son. But He doesn’t nitpick you. He doesn’t look down on you because you are doing everything right. He accepts you. Therefore, you can be that same way with everyone in your life.
The long dark night is nearly over; you stand on the edge of dawn. The season for slumber and the deeds only done in darkness has passed – you can now wake up, leave your pajamas behind, and put on the armor of light. Beloved, you can put on the Lord Jesus Christ. More at reynoldachurch.org
Among all ways followers of Jesus are called to live like Jesus, none of them are as difficult as forgiving those who hurt you. But, there is good news for the followers of Jesus, it is the following of Jesus that makes forgiveness possible.
If you are a Christian you are gifted – you have one or more spiritual gifts that God will use to bless people and glorify His name.
Not only does the Good News of Jesus bring you eternal redemption from your sin, but it also gives you freedom. Freedom to worship because His affection is already yours!
The mind-spinning mysteries and brain-twisting complexities of God’s design in creation and salvation are not cause for frustration or confusion but for awe and praise. Gather with us as we continue our series in the Book of Romans.
The grace of God, because of the death and resurrection of Jesus, is a free gift extended to ALL people, throughout ALL time, in ALL places – “otherwise grace would no longer be grace.”
Gospel means good news and since everyone loves good news we can find it our greatest joy to share that good news.
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Jew, Gentile, young, old, black, white, rich, poor, educated, uneducated, religious, rebellious, criminals, celebrities, homeless, mansion dwellers, happy, sad, short, tall, slim, stout, thieves, givers, mothers, fathers, orphans, heirs, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. The end! The end of striving. The end of anxiety. The end of wondering if you’ve done enough. The end of pride and legalism. The end of a system that cannot save.
When life is hard, news is discouraging, days are chaotic, and the Devil seeks to steal your joy, we must simply remember that God chose us not only for redemption, but also for His redemptive story.
Life’s Not Fair – and while that seems like really bad news, when it comes to the Gospel and what we need most from God, it is the best news ever.
Christian, nothing, nothing, nothing can ever separate you from the love of God! Join Pastor Alan Wright as he continues our series in the Book of Romans.
Rejoice in the knowledge that you are no longer bound by defeat, for you are now a triumphant child of God. May this Father's Day be a celebration of the victory we have in Jesus, and may it inspire you to walk in the confidence of your divine inheritance.
It’s all a big set up – God has rigged your blessing. Join Pastor Alan Wright as he continues our series in the Book of Romans.
Although all of creation suffers under the penalty and pain of sin, we live with the assurance that Jesus gets the final word on suffering, sin, and death. Join Pastor Chris as we continue our series in the Book of Romans
As a follower of Jesus, you have NOT ONLY been given new life by the redemption brought to you by the Spirit of Jesus, but you have ALSO BEEN empowered to change the world by the same Spirit that works through you. You have both security and power.
If you are in Christ, Christ is in you. You have become the inhabitation of the most high God.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Now, that means right now – not at some point in the future when you are a better person. There is No – that means zero. It isn’t diminished in Christ, it doesn’t exist for those in Christ.
Jesus came not just to deliver you from the penalty due your sin, but also to deliver you from the power of sin. Join Pastor Alan Wright as he continues our series in Romans.
Not only does the Good News of Jesus bring you eternal redemption from your sin, but it also gives you freedom. True freedom. Gospel freedom!
Last time we celebrated that, in Christ, we are dead to sin – here’s even better news, in Christ we are alive to righteousness. In fact, Paul puts it more starkly – we were slaves to sin and now we are slaves to righteousness. We are slaves to doing it all wrong and now we are slaves to all that is right.
Jesus gave His life to pay for your sins and on the third day He rose forevermore so that you could have the guarantee of life with Him – His shed blood and the power of His resurrection is what has made the way for you to know Him. And, I think if you listen, you’ll hear Him call you by name.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” However, this is not a battle we wage with our own power, but a power that is as old as time and rooted in a Sunday morning victory.
You aren’t a disappointment to God; you are His delight. Join Pastor Alan Wright as we continue our study in the Book of Romans.
There is hope. The world is dark, the pain is hard, the problems are real. Disappointments come. Relationships fracture. Dreams tarry. But there is hope.
When you are in Christ, a double miracle takes place – He takes your sin, so your sin it is as if you haven’t sinned; and He gives you His righteousness, so it is as if you lived Christ’s meritorious life.
The world seeks to divide people into two groups as defined by the world’s standard: good people and bad people; but the Bible tells a similar, but altogether different story. There are two kinds of people: Bad People and Jesus. And that is really great news for you!
We are all in need of rescue. We all need a Savior. In the previous passages in Romans, Paul has leveled the playing field, saying that all people everywhere, Jews and Greeks, are guilty before God and will face His judgment. Thankfully, God has a rescue plan! Join Pastor Alan Wright for an uplifting and hopeful message from Romans 3.
You might be a Christian. You might have a moral life. You might have Bibles galore and memorized many verses. You might have served in many ways. You might give generously. You might be revered by others as a model Christian. You might have been baptized in the Jordan River. You might speak in tongues and utter prophecies. All that might be good, but it is of nothing if you don’t have Jesus. But if you have Jesus, you have everything.
There’s only one judge – and it isn’t you! There’s only one judge, only one who knows everything and has all righteousness and owns it all and is perfectly just – only one who is qualified to judge, and that judge came and died for the defendants.

Why does everything seem so wrong? All the hate. All the moral lapses. All the confusion. All the anxiety. What is wrong? Furthermore, what can make it right? To find the answers, there is no better place to turn than Paul’s epistle to the Romans which might be the most important letter ever written.

In a world where famines, economic collapse, and ongoing epidemics are dominating daily media reports, fear is being planted and cultivated in record-breaking amounts. The dark scenario is creating constant panic, distress, and uncertainty among individuals, families, communities, and nations. Yet as Christians, we’re not to get caught up in the drama but to keep our eyes focused on the One who has promised to never leave us or forsake us.

As Jesus approached the city that would slay Him, why was He sobbing rather than seething? Perhaps partly because the tragedy was bigger than a few jealous Pharisees or a squad of Roman centurions or a betraying disciple. The problem was bigger than Jerusalem. Jesus saw the disrepair of an entire world.

The Lord “appointed” the great fish. The whale wasn’t a punishment—it was provision. The powerful story points to the providence of God for Jonah, for Ninevah, and, more so, to the better Jonah who was hurled into the ultimate storm of human sin and judgment to save us all.

Esther is the only book in scripture that does not mention the name of God—yet His hand is evident everywhere in the story. When it appears God is silent, His greater story is still in motion, and ultimately He is working toward victory.

We can only let go of our worries, angst and fear when we understand providence. In an argument from the greater to lesser, Jesus convinces God’s children to trust His provision. Providence means God has the provision for us.

Joseph’s breathtaking mercy toward his brothers is only possible in light of providence. He doesn’t excuse their sin, but he takes no offense against them. It is only possible to show others grace when we understand how God’s grace has been at work for us.

Joseph’s sufferings were, by any standard, egregious. Hated and abused by his brothers. Trafficked into slavery. Falsely accused. Wrongly imprisoned. And God was at work. God blessed Joseph “on the inside” in order to promote him at the right moment. How is God at work when it feels like everything is going in the wrong direction?

We often get confused and concerned about our circumstances, but God is not fazed. He is redemptive—He takes what looks like a setback or insurmountable adversity and providentially coordinates it for our good.

Join Pastor Chris Lawson as he concludes our series in 1st Peter. We all stumble and we all get knocked down and fooled by that crafty, counterfeit lion. Praise God, because the real Lion of Judah knows us, loves us, and wants us to be with Him. Let's talk about humility. Are you ready for some good news? Humility is at the foundation of what God is, does, and blesses forever. Join Pastor Alan Wright and Pastor Chris Lawson as they continue our series in 1st Peter.
Don’t be surprised by the troubles of life. Of course life has trials—it’s a sin-broken world. But that's not the end of the story! We have good news too.
Through Scripture, God has provided a way for all people to know Him. God’s glory and love for His people is fully revealed in His Word. I want you to be like Paul, who when his eyes were opened, he because newly aware that the truth on every page was about Jesus.
If you’re struggling to overcome unwanted thoughts, habits or feel like you keep falling into the same pits, this one’s especially for you. Instead of seeking to overcome sin in the flesh, we can seek more of the love of God in our lives!
Practical instructions on family life that reflect the virtue of “a tender heart”. The model of our lives is a picture of how relationships can flourish—we win best without words.
In Christ, by His grace, and by the principles of His word, you can disagree with government officials, government decisions and still show honor, live in peace and make a lasting difference.
To deeply understand the Gospel we must fully understand the thoroughness of Jesus’s atoning work that has found us, restored us and healed us.
We were ransomed in order to be holy and to live as holy ones! We were ransomed from “the futile ways inherited” from the past – by God’s grace, we can break out of the old patterns and into the new.
Life as a Christian in Peter’s first century world wasn’t that different from following Jesus in contemporary American society. The Roman empire was preeminent in the world, but most of its citizens misunderstood Christians and the Messiah they followed. People worshipped a plethora of gods. The culture was technologically advanced, but also was visibly sex-soaked, idolatrous. And, because Christians just didn’t fit in, they were often maligned and persecuted. How does a Christian make a difference in a too-often hostile, hateful world? The epistle tells us plainly: “Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:12, ESV) How do we help the cause of Christ in a culture of sin and folly? Through Peter’s pen, God makes it clear: “For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.” (1 Peter 2:15, ESV) Take a pilgrimage through 1 Peter this summer and discover fresh hope and joy as you learn how the Gospel empowers you to live graciously in an ungracious world. Embrace the paradox for all its beauty and power—you’re an “elect exile.”
“Speak your truth.” That’s a phrase that has become common in popular culture over the past few years. Those of us who are Christians believe that truth is not something within us, but something outside of us.
There’s a thought that plagues us…we think that God isn’t giving us His best. That He is withholding something. But He’s not. And we know this because He gave His only son - Jesus.
We all love a good story—that’s why hell’s false narratives compete against the true Gospel story. What are culture’s false narratives and how can we recognize them?
What's so new about the New Covenant? Join Pastor Alan Wright as he concludes our series in the Book of Jeremiah.
The Prince of Peace has made himself known to the world. Now, we His people, carry the Gospel of peace to a troubled world.
Weeping must come in this broken world, but tears are not our end. God turns mourning into joy.
One of the greatest promises that we have as Christians is a hope and a future. We want to join us to worship tomorrow as we continue with the Remade sermon series.
Jesus is the firstfruits of creation. The firstborn of all the earth. The sacrifice given for our sins. In a tale of two figs, it is good news that Jesus is our offering.
The Christian life is not so much about starting or stoking a fire as it is about surrending to a fire. We continue in our series REMADE by looking at Jeremiah 9.
Jeremiah, like Isaiah, preaches thunderous rebuke of idolatry. Why is this so important to God? Why is idolatry so destructive to us?
In response to a weeping prophet, an anxious church, and a confused world that is asking, “Is there a balm in Gilead?” The Lord says, “Yes, there certainly is, and He is the Anointed One of Israel!”
We are living in the day of which Jeremiah prophesied saying, “They shall no more say, “The ark of the covenant of the Lord.” We are living in the day in which everything the ark of the covenant represented to the people of God has come to fulfillment in Christ Jesus.
Life mission and effectiveness have much more to do with the call of God than the capabilities of any individual. The Lord put His words in Jeremiah’s mouth, and that divine word had the power to pluck up and plant nations.
Life spinning out of control? No worries, God's got you in His hands. Join us as we launch our brand new series, Remade! We're exploring the Book of Jeremiah for the next few weeks.
Jesus is more resolved about your future than you are – and that is a resolution you can build your life upon. Join Pastor Chris Lawson for an uplifting message to kick off the new year on the right foot.
We’re fascinated with angels, but even more so, the angels are fascinated with us—or, I should say, fascinated with what God has done for us!
Who/what are angels and what role do they play in our lives today? The Christmas stories are full of angelic encounters and our Christmas trees adorned with angelic ornaments, but in scripture, angels are mighty and glorious arousing fear among all who encounter them. There is comfort and courage in this message – God’s messengers and heavenly warriors are in our midst today.
Every Christian can walk in increasing discernment. What are some guidelines for spiritual discernment? How can we protect against spiritual discernment becoming pride or judgmentalism?
There is a much more wonderful fellowship that we are designed to enjoy with God – spiritual communion. This message explores the gift of supernatural communion and communication with the Creator.
The miracles of Christmas prove time and time again that “nothing will be impossible with God.” This is foundational to our Christian faith.
The gift of the Holy Spirit in the Christian’s life cannot be bought, earned, or grasped—He is received. The Galatians typify our tendency—they began with the free gift of the Spirit and were soon infected by legalistic notions about circumcision. But there is no requirement to be full of the Spirit other than faith in Christ!
It’s hard to describe – but we must become comfortable with the terribly uncomfortable feeling we have in the midst of the transcendent. Let's talk about the Holy Spirit.
All of the promises of God to be “with us” only make sense in light of the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost! God dwells intimately, permanently, mystically with every believer by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus might have said, “Whatever you do, don’t try to do it by your own power!” Jesus’ disciples (who had spent years with Him) weren’t qualified without the Spirit! The Christian life was never meant to be lived by our own power.
We welcome Dr. Sam Storms a day of power and healing. Dr. Storms serves as the Lead Pastor for Preaching and Vision at Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City and is the president of Enjoying God Ministries. His books and sermons about spiritual gifts and the power of the gospel are life-changing, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Reynolda!

For thousands of years, every sabbath, faithful Jewish fathers have blessed their children with the words, “May God make you as Ephraim and Manasseh.” But why? This week, discover the wonder and power of being like Ephraim and Manasseh as Pastor Alan shares the corporate blessing for the new year.

Of all the risks you might take in life, one is definitely worth the dare- loving deeply. As we look into the heart of Paul, we discover the marks of authentic Gospel relationships and see the greatest Love of all.

To know God is to love Him. What did Paul do when he felt incensed at all the idolatry in Athens ? He paid them a compliment, “I see you’re very religious.” And then he told them about Jesus. Paul’s famous “Unknown God” message on Mars Hill nourishes is all with the truth - to know God is to love Him.
Contentment is never rooted in your current circumstances but found in knowing how far the Creator of the universe will go to make you His own.
One thing we all have in common: we all have to make decisions, every day, every hour, like it or not. When Paul and others decided to go to Asia and Bithynia, the Spirit prevented them. Eventually, Paul received a vision, leading him to Europe. We’d like to think that following the Spirit is easy, but it’s messy and earthier than we might want to think. Yet, in the end, God is more committed to leading us than we are to following Him. Today’s message highlights the assurance that God speaks to His children regularly in a variety of ways—we can all follow the Spirit’s promptings. But it also highlights the good news of God’s grace when we miss it!
It might have been the most important meeting of its kind In the history of the world. The early church leaders met in Jerusalem to answer the question, “Is grace all we need?” Some of the Jewish influencers were insisting that Gentiles should be circumcised—but, no, the council concurred—we’re all saved the same way, by grace alone through faith alone. Form Acts 15, discover again why Jesus Is all we need.
Sometimes they worship you and sometimes they wallop you. And you never quite know what you’re going to get. In fact, sometimes, the worshiping and the walloping comes from the same people! How are we to handle it? What do we do with the fact that some people might like to make a statue of us and others might like to stone us?
The Gentiles begged to hear more about Jesus. The craved the Word of God. They leaned into all the apostles were teaching. They couldn’t wait until the next Sabbath. It’s the picture of God’s plan for the body of Christ—a never-ending, growing thirst for the Gospel.
It might feel like darkness is winning. It might feel like chaos is expanding. It might feel like God’s power is being subverted. But, I want to assure you of this, it just feels that way!
The remarkable story of the angelic rescue of Peter is fascinating—the supernatural appearance of the messenger of God, the miraculous unshackling of the saint, the stealthy escape past unwitting guards. The whole story points to the glorious, miracle-working power of a transcendent God who can, at His own good pleasure, work out his will through His people by suspending and upending the natural world that He created
God isn’t prejudiced. It means that He’s not only perfectly fair but He’s also perfectly inclined to bless everyone regardless of age, race, gender, ethnicity or standing.
The Gospel upends old, insufficient notions of holiness. In the Old Covenant, if the clean touched the unclean, the clean became unclean. In the New Covenant, when the clean (Christ) touches the unclean, the unclean becomes clean.
Saul’s life became fueled by a new, previously alien power. Saul’s new zeal was grace-empowered. I want to explicate the text and make mention of the intriguing phrase “proving that Jesus is the Messiah (what does that mean? I think the Greek word suggests that he showed how Jesus was the subject of the Hebrew scriptures). But the central exploration of the sermon is how different zeal for the law and zeal for the Lord manifest. The fruit of love for the law is hatred, selfish gain, and desire to punish. The fruit of love for the Lord, is love, self-sacrificial living, and a desire to see everyone experience God’s love.
God always has and always will use his people and His church, empowered by the Spirit, to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth
Paul’s life was changed in an instant. He never forgot his first encounter with Jesus. He never lost the humility and never betrayed the vision. New vision from the Holy Spirit can change everything in our lives in an instant. It is, of course, every Christian’s story—we once were blind, but now, in Christ, we see.
