Neo Jang is a resident of College Station, Texas and for the past couple years, he has used a cargo bike to transport his children around town instead of a car. Wanda Watson is the former chair of the Democratic Party in Brazos County and is running to represent Precinct 4 on the Brazos County Commissioners Court. In this episode, she talks about her background and goals with Think Brazos Podcast host Charles Coats.
The run-off election for the Democratic primary is May 24th, 2022 between Wanda Watson and Prentiss Madison. Early voting is May 16-20, 2022. The winner will face a Republican in the November 2022 election.

James Edge will soon be sworn in as the new city council member in the City of Bryan for single member district 4. He's filling a vacant seat previously held by Flynn Adcock who died earlier this year.
James spent almost 10 years working in the local district office for former Congressman Bill Flores and now brings that experience to the Bryan City Council.

They're basically an up front, one-time charge to a developer (someone who prepares land for or builds a home or business) in order to help the city pay for anticipated future expenses related to the development (water, sewer, roadway, etc). Potential Consequences of a Restricted Occupancy Overlay (ROO) for College Station
The College Station City Council is considering adopting a Restricted Occupancy Overlay. Also called a ROO, this potential rule could allow neighborhoods to vote on restricting how many unrelated people can live in a home together.
College Station and Bryan, Texas are both home to Texas A&M University, the largest university in Texas. Some students live on campus, but many live off campus and their housing options and costs are impacted by decisions made by the city councils of these two cities. When housing options are limited, these students compete with the low-income population for good housing. Local regulations such as this ROO can impact local housing costs, so Think Brazos will continue to follow and update you on this potential ordinance.
