In The Pursuit is powered by MA’s Playhouse, a theater and media company that seeks to increase the lexicon of plays, films and stories emanating from the African diaspora, with particular attention on the Caribbean and its diaspora throughout the world. The mission is to amplify the multi-ethnic perspectives on topics from blackness, beauty, and body image to femininity and masculinity and more. Our aim is to shed light on the challenge and opportunity of immigration as well as highlight its effects on culture and community through plays, films and stories.

Come meet Tyson Goddard, an Australian (Meanjin) entertainer of Fijian descent. Come learn with me as we explore Tyson's continuing journey to self discovery, his connection to black identity, his passion for reuniting with his ancestral culture and his christian faith as a queer man of color. Learn too about "black-birding" and the growing effort throughout Australia to honor the original names of the of the different parts of the country and by so doing honor the native peoples of Meanjin.
