Cryptid Encounters, it’s a podcast where we learn about the Mysterious, the Strange, the Unknown, Bigfoot, UFO’s, the Paranormal and of course the Cryptid’s.
In 1951, all of the residents of the Alaskan town of Port Chatham abandoned it, never to return. Leaving all they had known, their jobs and homes, something occurred that would drive them all away. Theories of what frightened them away include an unidentified serial killer, a demon sasquatch-like creature that was said to be hunting human prey, and simple ignorance of the time combined with belief in the oral tradition of tales that whipped the residents into an unreasonable degree of panic, causing them to flee. Digging back even further into the history of the town (which was once named Portlock) revealed that the mass exodus in 1951 wasn’t the first time the town had been abandoned. Join us as we explore the mystery of the creepiest (ghost) town in Alaska—Port Chatham.

On November 17th, 1986, one of the best known and most conclusive examples of UFO encounters happened in the skies above Alaska. It was also one of the largest cover-ups by the American government in history that can be conclusively proven, mainly because of the personal encounters with UFOs experienced by then-president, Ronald Reagan, and the courage of an FAA whistleblower. Why would the government try to hide evidence of extra-terrestrials from the world, when it would be one of the greatest discoveries of mankind?
