John the Baptist rejoiced in Jesus' growing popularity. He bears witness to the truest truth known to man -- Those who believe in Jesus find eternal life. Those who reject him will not see life.
God loves this world, but not more than he loves his Son. Whoever believes nin his Son has life; whoever does not believe in the Son is condemned. By the grace of God, light has come into the world to expose both sin and righteousness.

Jesus' first advent is not his only advent. He is returning! For this reality we should both rejoice and prepare.
Jesus is full of both grace and truth. From him we have now received the fullness of God the Father, and that fullness is revealed to us with grace upon grace.
The very faith in Christ which gives us the right to become children of God is itself a gift. It is not something we can give ourselves; it comes from the Father who shines His light into our darkness.
