As mechanically inclined riders, we have tossed together a hodge-podge of tools that we carry to care for our motorcycles and we share what that is on this show! Dakota keeps a kit for off-road riding while Zee carries all that and the kitchen sink for long-term on the road maintenance/repairs. It may even help you build your own custom kit. So please come listen to us play with our tools! (we like when you do that)

After Bob hung up for real life stuff (which we don't seem to have), we covered more about the 3 types of drive motorcycles have. More educational crap includes what chain numbers (like 520x112) mean, explanations about which drive is best for which style of riding, lubing/cleaning routines, how to adjust them, and more that I can't remember at this point of writing the show notes.

The second most common question a motorcycle vagabond gets is; how do you plan your routes? In this episode, Dakota and Zee both share how they plan their rides, what they do for finding somewhere to sleep, and how they adapt to the never-ending changes that happen while traveling.

If you're going to travel, you're going to need a way to carry your junk. In this episode, we talk about the various luggage systems we've used plus discuss all the companies that make luggage that costs more than our motorcycles. We cover hard vs soft bags, unconventional storage, the high end, and buying used.

If you ever wondered how to motorcycle travel while needing to carry temperature sensitive medication, such as insulin, Lisa has a solution that can keep you on the road for as long as you want without needing ice. Lisa is a 25 year nurse and a type 1 diabetic, and she's on the show to help anyone struggling to ride while needing medicine. We still don't know why she would talk to losers like us but we all had a wonderful time recording this (hopefully) helpful episode.

On this episode, we talk about camping pads (or mattresses) and crack a lot of bad jokes. We discuss what we use and what does/doesn't work for us along with the differences between manually inflating, self inflating, and foam. We also talk about the R value, what you need to think about when shopping for a pad, the pros/cons, and some of the various companies you can find gear from. Rest assure, it sounds boring but there's a lot of bad humor and giggling to ease the dryness of the subject.

For the first episode of Road Philosophy, we talk about the first and most popular question any vagabond gets asked - "how can you afford this?" Zee discusses what mental changes you have to make to sustain the road life, how much she spends per month, what she spends it on, the various ways to make money on the road, how to save money, etc. Spoiler: there is no magic secret but you can still hear about some great info in this show!

In this glorious episode, we discuss everything about sleeping bags and quilts. If you don't know anything about a camping quilt, well... we're here to over-educate you about why we both left sleeping bags to use quilts. We cover how down and synthetic works, pros/cons to both, the products we use, different companies with solid products to research, and what we hated about being strangled by a bag.

This episode is the intro to the Motorcycle Vagabond Show with Zee Traveler and Dakota Howard. We put our worst foot forward... so much for professionalism.
On this segment, we act like superior hammock camping pricks but really we talk about why we both choose them separately over a tent. We go over how hammocks work, some of the misconceptions about them, the ones we use, how Dakota hates ENO because he's too tall for his own good, how Zee is an ENO basic b*tch, the various companies out there, the straps, separate/integrated bug nets, blah blah.
