I had the privilege of interviewing Reuben Kigame, a presidential aspirant in the 2022 general elections. He was however locked out by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). We spoke briefly about why he thinks the IEBC locked him out and how he still plans to continue being active in the politics and governance of the country. It was quite an intriguing though brief interview I had with him.
In this episode, I have a seat down with Mutcy, A mental health advocate and Co-founder of Men's Hub. We talk about the mental health situation in the country and the milestones we have had thus far. Notably, there has been an increase in awareness of mental health , and gender-based violence, especially in the last two years. We had fun and enlightened on different issues.
In the last year or so we have seen an emphasis on the importance of community health workers in the public health space especially in the fight against the covid 19 pandemic. Educating and empowering the community on health issues has been proven to be the most effective way of dealing with public health. I have a seat down with Joseph Obel who is an experienced filmmaker, creative and digital creator and we discuss how the film and entertainment industry has an impact on society.
With a hotly political season almost on the offing, it's right that we have a conversation about our political leaders and the role they play in inciting violence and uttering vulgar unprintable words. In this episode, we look at some of the remarks that some of the leaders have made. It is actually very unfortunate that they have been so many of them that if I was to sample all of them the whole episode would be filled with their soundbites.It's also important too note that we as citizens have a huge role to play in ensuring we can hold our leaders to account and not cheer them on as they utter words that would bring this country to its knees.
