NNEdPro is an award-winning interdisciplinary think-tank, building upon over a decade of nutrition education, research and innovation. We are anchored in Cambridge (UK) and convene central as well as regional networks across six continents as part of the International Knowledge Application Network in Nutrition-2025. We develop adaptable and scalable educational models for nutrition capacity building in health systems. We also conduct a range of training courses as well as primary research studies and syntheses to fill key evidence gaps.

In this second episode of our series on dietitians in medical nutrition education, Elaine Macaninch RD spoke with Dr Duane Mellor RD. Dr Mellor is a UK Registered Dietitian and a Senior Teaching Fellow at Aston Medical School. He has published over 60 papers in the fields of dietetics, nutrition and food science. Having spent the first decade of his career working in diabetes care as a dietitian he moved into research where he investigated the effects of dark chocolate on cardiovascular risk in people with type 2 diabetes. Recently he has moved into medical education at Aston Medical School, but still is active in diabetes care as part of the Diabetes UK Nutrition Working Group and British Dietetic Association Diabetes Special Interest Group committee.
