Today, the C/of/C team reflects on a recent track day in Millville, New Jersey as guests of the “Porsche Driving Experience.”
While spending an afternoon at the New Jersey Motorsports Park, factory drivers provided C/of/C team members with coaching tips to improve driving skills both on the autocross course and the two-mile raceway, with its dozen turns and a half-mile line straightaway. Spending time behind the steering wheels of various Porsche models – from the Taycan to the 992-generation 911 Carrera 4S – was beyond exciting.

SEMA 360: Virtual Trade Show (2020)
Today, the C/of/C team walks you through last week’s virtual attendance of the first-ever SEMA 360 show.
As you know, each year, the Special Equipment Market Association hosts one of the most significant trade shows in Las Vegas, focused on showcasing the latest in innovative products for vehicles of all types.
This year, in light of the global pandemic, the approach was “SEMA 360” – a fully online, virtual experience that ran from November 2nd to 6th. Not open to the public, SEMA shows are trade-only events for qualified attendees who work in relevant automotive-related fields. That said, C/of/C appreciated the opportunity to have attended this amazing event.

Not only has she been putting miles on her 2019 Z06 – touring, cruising, and showing it -- she’s already adding splitters and aerodynamic bits. With a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 cranking out 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, there is no delay getting…anywhere!

2020 Carlisle Events: Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals Wednesday, August 19, 2020
Today, hang out with the C/of/C team as we share highlights from this past weekend’s 2020 Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals. You will learn about the late Andrew Lee who started the “Driven to Cure” foundation with his customized Nissan GT-R. Andrew’s dad, Bruce, carries the torch forward for his brave son. We invite you to meet Bruce in this episode.
Additionally, this year’s show brought international vehicles, domestics, motorcycles, kit cars, trucks, and exotics together onto the show field organized by eight countries: Germany, Japan, Italy, Sweden, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
In addition to many car clubs gathering together in a reunion-like setting, guests and participants of the Import & Performance show enjoyed good weather and competitions, ranging from drifting, car limbo, autocross, and rolling exhaust.

Road Trip: California Pacific Coast Highway

Today, ride along in a rented Mustang Convertible with two members of the C/of/C team as they embark on an open-road vacation. In fulfilling a bucket list journey through this road trip, the team members flew into LAX and spent a week on U.S. State Route 1, traveling North to San Francisco and then back again to Los Angeles.
With over 1,400 miles logged and some incredible sights seen along the way, hear about navigating the Pacific Coast Highway from a drop-top Pony car. Side trips and stops along the way included: WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, Modesto, Malibu, San Jose, and Yosemite National Park.
It’s time to go out to the Left Coast and cruise along the Pacific seaside.

Recently completed, Russ’ massive garage is a personal tribute to his late father and the many years they spent working on cars together as father and son. John Diekewicz: Mopars on the Mother Road
Today, we spend some time John Diekewicz, a true friend to the C/of/C show. Without a doubt, John has been all about Mopars since the Eighties, starting with his first car, a ‘58 Plymouth Belvedere.
As you may recall from his previous interview – Episode 045 which aired on March 12, 2019 – John has been a tremendous champion for the brand, especially educating others about the ‘Forward Look’ era of Mopar.
In this week’s show, John shares, in engaging and descriptive detail, how he and fellow car buddies saw America from “eye-level” in a 1958 Plymouth Fury and a 1960 Dodge Phoenix. Candy Clark: Actress – Movie American Graffiti (1973)

Today, meet Hollywood actress, Candy Clark, who was a key cast member in a memorable car movie franchise. Join in as we speak with Ms. Clark, who earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in her role as Debbie Dunham in the 1973 classic American Graffiti and later teamed up with fellow cast members in the 1979 sequel, More American Graffiti.
In the original film – co-written by George Lucas – Candy plays Debbie, the girl that Terry “Toad” Fields drives around in the 1958 Chevy Impala owned by Steve Bolander (played by Ron Howard). To this day, Candy knows cars; she has kept tabs on those iconic vehicles that co-starred with her back in 1973. Think back to that chromed -out Impala…that canary yellow 1932 Deuce Coupe (driven by Paul Le Mat, as John Milner)…the tricked-out, big-block ’55 Chevy (driven by Harrison Ford, as Bob Falfa), and the ’56 T-Bird (driven by Suzanne Somers, as the mysterious blonde).
It’s time to drift back in time to August 1962, to that fictitious night in Southern California when a group of teenagers experienced music, pranks, cruising, drag racing, and life decisions.

Bill Sangrey: Part 3 (True “R” Code ’70 Hemi Cuda)
Today, it’s back to the ultimate man cave garage of Cuber, Bill Sangrey.
In this trip, we spend time learning all about Bill’s 1970 Hemi Cuda -- with its first-generation 426 cubic inch, high-nickel alloy, cast iron block. This black, True “R” Code Hemi Cuda is believed to be one of only seven. Over the 30 years of ownership, 16 of those went to countless hours of detailed restoration, spanning from 2003 to 2019.
Ride along as Bill walks you through the provenance and history of his car, from the time his Cuda rolled off the Hamtramck assembly line on July 7th, 1970, right up to current day as well as the concourse-level events Bill is planning to attend. Matt and Kate Murray: IronTrap Garage
Today, ride along with the Cars of Carlisle team in their visit to Eastern Pennsylvania to hang out with Matt and Kate Murray. Matt, is the host of IronTrap Garage, a YouTube Channel devoted to car people who appreciate hot rods. As a Boyertown native, he prides himself in crafting vehicles that are truly “period correct.”
Over the years, Matt has honed his skills in fabricating panels and restorative elements, paying homage to how hot rods were built in the mid-20th Century. Matt can take a rusted-out barn find that many would consider “too-far-gone,” and transform that hopeless automotive shell into a beautifully eclectic masterpiece that only Matt could envision from the beginning.
Among his most impressive works is a 1919 Ford Model T, affectionately called “The Free T,” powered by a full-race Flathead mill, finished with a gorgeous tuxedo-like pleated interior .

Age of Aquarius Exhibit: AACA Museum

Bruce Hall: Applewood Motorcar Transport
Today, ride along to Gerrardstown, West Virginia to meet C/of/C friend, Bruce Hall.
Bruce is the owner of Applewood Motorcar which is an enclosed transport service, handling precious cargo for owners of classic, collector, and exotic cars. Often times, Bruce’s transports can be found hauling well over seven figures worth of vehicles onboard.
Over the 30 years of transporting incredible cars all up and down the Eastern seaboard, his team has built lasting relationships with clients of all types, including Lamborghini. That’s right, in any given week, Bruce’s company may be hauling a load of Lamborghini Huracans and Aventadors between metropolitan dealerships.
Over the years, Bruce has hauled in quite a few unique and special vehicles of his own. His personal stable is well-stocked with rarities like:

Stew Cook: Entrepreneur with Corvettes and GT 500
Today, join the C/of/C team as we visit Stew Cook, owner and founder of Tinicum Magnetics, Inc. in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. In addition to his deep business knowledge of electronic coils and transformers, Stew knows cars. In the back of his commercial building, he has a ‘hobby room’ where he keeps a couple of cars from his personal collection, and where he details his Corvettes and GT 500 before car shows and long road trips.
When it comes to silver and gold, Stew likes his anniversary Vettes. In his collection, he owns a 1978 C3 25th Silver Anniversary edition in the Indy 500 livery and a 2003 C5 50th Gold Anniversary. Additionally, his 2007 Shelby GT500 is terrific, with its rare paint combination.

You may recall hearing reference to Mr. Liddick during Sam & Lou’s Studebaker intracast episode. Gaye Liddick is a volunteer curator at the AACA Museum in Hershey and one of the premier Studebaker experts in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gaye knows his Studes.

- a 1965 Studebaker Cruiser

Today, meet Noelle Dumas, a diehard car enthusiast who has been wrenching on cars and motorcycles -- and honing her artistic talents -- since well before Kindergarten.

Bill Sangrey: Part 2
Today, we head back to the garage of our friend, Bill Sangrey.
Going back to Episode 052, you may remember the C/of/C interview with Bill in his “Ultimate Garage and Mancave.” Not only does this car-guy have some of the coolest muscle cars around, he restores beautiful, pre-war vehicles.
In fact, one of those cars is Bill’s 1930 Ford Model A Standard Coupe. Today, Darren introduces you to Bill Sangrey, a restoration veteran who has an incredible garage that is nicer than most houses. This massive space holds – among other cars -- his 2016 Corvette Z06, a 1970 Hemi Cuda, and a rare 1984 Mustang SVO.

Having spent her lifetime in the Riverside County area, just about an hour East of L.A., Lisa grew up in a motocross family with an energetic dad who ran a NAPA Auto Parts store and hot-rodded a 1940 Ford Coupe. To this day, Lisa still rides both on and off-road and appreciates anything with two or four wheels.
Lisa’s family has direct ties to a one-of-a-kind motorcycle in the garage of well-known California car guy, Jay Leno -- of NBC Tonight Show fame. Listen in and find out all about Lisa meeting Mr. Leno and her dad getting to hang out among Jay’s spectacular car collection.

Rolls-Royce: Mechanicsburg, PA Museum
Today, you get the chance to learn more about one of the coolest places west of England for Rolls-Royce and Bentley fans.
Cars of Carlisle heads to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania to meet with Mark Lizewskie , the Executive Director for both the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club, as well as the Rolls-Royce Foundation. While there, Mark showed Darren around their facilities brimming with beautiful examples of these two elegant and regal British brands.
America on Wheels: Allentown Car Museum
This week, Darren and Scott explore just one of many local museums/businesses that preserve history, educate the public and foster interest in automotive and transportation information. They spent this past Saturday as guests at the America on Wheels Museum on Front Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Executive Director, Linda Merkel and volunteer guides like Gary Peters share their wealth and knowledge and time with museum visitors. The Cars of Carlisle crew witnessed firsthand the amount of care the museum team has for people as well as all things with wheels.

This past Saturday, Darren and Scott braved the imposing winter weather advisory and headed East Northeast to Allentown, Pennsylvania to the Agricultural Expo Center.
While there, the C/of/C team walked the aisles of the 59,000 sq. ft. facility, combed the parts bins, grabbed automotive literature, took pictures of unique items, and made new friends along the way.
