Pastor Paul is looking today at one of the most unlikely followers of Jesus: Matthew. The reading is taken from Matthew 9:9-13. Matthew was a tax collector…he is a great example of the surprising followers of Jesus. Jesus shared a meal with Matthew; this was surprising to the Pharisees. As Jesus said to the Pharisees: “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do”. We are all sick, in all different ways. What we need is God’s merci. Merci from God is underserved, but we desperately need it. Some questions to consider this week: Who are the sinners around you? What is the state of your heart? Today we are focusing on the subject of human blindness and the restorative power of Jesus's resurrection. The people who celebrated Jesus's triumphant entrance into Jerusalem had different expectations about what Jesus's mission was all about. They were blind as they did not understand His purpose. Ultimately, rejecting Jesus, the builders rejected the stone who became the cornerstone. Our reading is from Mark 11:27 - 12:12.Find more information about our service and other activities on: https://www.allnationschurch.com/Today we are focusing on the subject of human blindness and the restorative power of Jesus's resurrection. Today’s message comes from four different books, the first part from Romans 15:1-7, the second from Ephesians 4:25, 31-32, from Philippians 2:2-4 and the last part from 1st Thessalonians 5:11. One day, God’s church and His gathered people will be that; but we are not yet at that day. How are we able to contribute to the church becoming what we long for? How can we create and maintain a love-filled community?

Today’s reading is from Matthew 26:17-31. The disciples and Jesus celebrated the Passover as we continue to celebrate it today. Jesus used this meal to remind His disciples and us that God is faithful in His promises. Jesus took the bread and told them that this bread is His body, and the wine, His blood. Under the circumstances the disciples was about to face, this was an important reminder of God’s redemption, His promises and His faithfulness. God invites us into a new covenant...a covenant based on Jesus’s sacrifice and Jesus’s love.

Pastor Logan continues the series on the small group vision statement with today’s sermon about the challenges following Jesus. A relationship with Jesus is one where you follow Jesus; taking up your cross. This is the challenge. Jesus knows it is hard to follow Him and for some, the cost seems too high. It is all worth to let go of some things keeping us from following Jesus whole-heartedly. The reward is much greater than any suffering we might experience in our lives... the cost of not following Jesus is indeed very high.

Today’s reading is from John 4:6-26. During this series, we look at how we can reflect the love of Christ in new and different ways by living differently? In this story of the woman at the well, Jesus tells the woman two things: first, inviting her to come to Him to be restored and secondly, to follow Him. Just like the story of the woman at the well, Jesus calls us to move in a different way. Instead of a self-centered culture we are used to, rather a culture of serving others.

Today is the start of our Easter series. Pastor Paul is reading from Luke 15 about the parable of the two sons: also known as the parable of “The Prodigal Son”. The behavior of both sons is heartbreaking, but the response of the father to the sons’ actions is also out of the ordinary. The father does sell his property as requested by his younger son, depriving himself. As we reach the climax of the story, the son has a plan upon returning, intending to earn his way back into the house of his father. The father’s response to both sons’ actions is astonishing and reflects the great love of God for us.

Today’s passage comes from Matthew 7:7-12. As Jesus is nearing the end of His Sermon on the Mount, He calls on us to ask, pray, seek the Kingdom and God’s will first. We need to continue to ask for God to do what only He can do, even if, for us, it seems to be impossible. Continuously asking and seeking God’s will is a lifelong journey. God is good…God gives us what we need. Although we are not sure how, God is at work in this world. As we continue to seek and pray, we become agents of God’s good will. Let’s be those agents to prove God’s goodness to the world.

Pastor Paul’s message today is from Matthew 5:27-37. The 6th Beatitude states we shall be pure in heart. Jesus’s teaching in these verses is about adultery and unfaithfulness. A person who that does not love God, will find another thing or person to love. Being God’s faithful people, we experience God’s presence and we are blessed with His peace, satisfaction and joy. Jesus is directing us towards being faithful to God and in turn experiencing God’s blessings that He has in store for us.

In Matthew 5:21-26 Jesus tells us that if we’re at church worshipping and there remember that we’ve wronged someone, we should leave worship and go seek reconciliation with that person. Our relationship with God has everything to do with our relationships with our sisters and brothers. If we want to worship the God who reconciles we must be reconciled with one another.
