Every person that has ever lived bears the image of God. If we truly believe that, it will revolutionize the way that we love and live with God and others.
Main Point: There is no enchanted method to resist temptation. Victory over sin will only be realized when you're found in Christ.
Submit to the Spirit’s Control
Believe what God Says

God will one day dwell with his redeemed people forever, put an end to sin, and will make all things new.
The Rescuer would be crushed, but that was the plan all along. By His death, God's people would be brought back from their slavery to sin. He would be counted as a sinner and would willingly take the punishment. By faith, God's people would be counted as innocent.
The Good, Chief Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Good undershepherds lay down their lives as well.
Jesus is the only one able to intercede perfectly and perpetually as our high priest. Draw near to God the Father through him.
God is glorified in the church as we work to maintain unity in love and as we attain unity in truth.
God has sovereignly placed you in this world at this time with the abilities and gifts you have to bring Him glory and share the joy of the Gospel with others.
You need not look further than the cross to see the love of God toward the elect. Our greatest need was met by Jesus therefore he will surely meet our every need. His love for us gives us victory over any scenario.
The most dangerous thing that can happen to you is for God to give you what you've asked for.
The gospel transforms our lives into conduits of grace. We generously pour out for others what we have received from God our Father.
Every aspect of every Christian’s life creates an opportunity to either glorify or discredit God. Follow Jesus’ example and glorify God.
Beware! There is a constant tendency in all of us to distort the true gospel thereby exchanging “good news” for “bad news.”
Studying James 3 shows us 2 things: that our words reveal the contents of our hearts, and God’s words have the power to transform our hearts.
When I'm saved by God and devoted to His Word, our church will look like the Kingdom of God.
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith. If Jesus did not rise, we are hopeless. But he did rise and if we believe, we can have life through his name!
Jesus is glorified through us when we are unified in him and unification comes with our loyal dependence on the word of God.
We often attempt to satisfy our longings with things that only temporarily bring satisfaction, but ultimately leave us empty and longing. Only in Jesus, can we find true and lasting satisfaction.
God is the sole initiator of all faith. Specifically, the Holy Spirit alone works in the life of a sinner to bring him to the place of faith in Jesus.
Regardless of our physical needs, our sinful desires, or our righteous ambition, God demands perfect obedience of his Word yet only Jesus is able to fulfill.
Here in the beginning of John’s gospel, we have two of the most foundational truths of the Christian faith:
1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
2) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..
It is through the God-Man, Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, that we find true hope and redemption.
As we close our time in the Old Testament, Malachi shows us God's condemnation of careless worship and his care in sending Christ.
The Word of God is essential to our faith. It reveals to us not only attributes of God but our need for confession. Nehemiah 9:1-6 walks us through how the Word of the Lord reveals our need for confession. When we confess our sins, we are able to enjoy worship the way God intended it to be.
God is in complete control, even when He seems silent and the circumstances seem insurmountable.
What has been lost and stolen is now able to be reclaimed. So, take courage! God is with us! God has supplied everything we need to accomplish the task of knowing him and making him known.
Daniel 6 has a lot of parallels to Daniel 3, but there are several differences. Here's what I think these differences emphasize; as God delivers his faithful children, the hearts of those looking on are changed.
This account recorded during their captivity would serve as a reminder to Gods people, down through the centuries, that God requires obedience to Him whatever the consequences while at the same time affirming God’s sovereignty over creation and presence among his people. God can be trusted no matter the situation. Rest in him with full obedience. When in exile. When facing a fiery furnace. God expects our obedience regardless of the circumstances.
Gods people are prone to wander. They look to the world for value and for sustenance yet only find evil and pain. In Christ alone do we find a true shepherd that can lead us back to God. He alone leads us to the living water.
Jonah is not about a whale or even Jonah. It is about our sovereign God, a missionary God who sends his people into the world with the message of repentance and hope. As we go, we receive a blessing.
It’s a powerful story. God clearly demonstrating his power before his people, effectively turning their hearts back to him! In spite of their weakness. In spite of sins grip. When God’s people draw near to the altar, God demonstrates his power and draws them to himself.

It is a bold promise in the New Testament; Jesus tells us that whatever we ask in his name, he will do it. And we see it here in this passage. When we pray according to God’s will, in Jesus’ name, He answers. God is delighted when his people repent. He receives glory when we receive a clean heart.
Psalm 51 is a prayer of repentance. David appeals to God’s faithful love as he requests his mercy. He goes on to request his abundant mercy to provide the cleansing act. God is delighted when his people repent. He receives glory when we receive a clean heart.
Through David, God showed his kindness to Mephibosheth. Through Jesus, God shows his kindness to you. The way that we come to the Lord’s table to receive nourishment and enjoy fellowship is that Jesus carries you! He does that through the cross!
