As we look to understand both the present and the future of education, this week we're thrilled to welcome Laura Boyd. She's a middle school Spanish teacher and she shares her experiences in a public school in 2023. Laura discusses her journey into teaching, including her experience with Teach for America and her passion for incorporating technology in the classroom. She also highlights the challenges and adaptations she faced during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the practices that she finds useful to engage her students.

Laura Boyd is a Middle School Spanish Teacher for the Franklin Special School District. She completed the two-year Teach for America program and currently holds a master’s degree in education with a focus on World Language and Spanish. Starting my tenth year as a Spanish teacher in Tennessee. Passions include edtech, sel, and teacher voice. Currently holds a Masters Degree in Education with a focus on World Language and Spanish. Passion for a classroom that produces superior learning as well as student development. Enjoys training teachers about educational technology.

She serves as related arts team leader, grant team representative, and Spirit Night coordinator, and mentors first-generation college students with Tennessee Achieves. Technology presenter at the district, local, and state levels. Avid runner and high-energy personality with a passion for a classroom that produces superior learning as well as student development.
