Last year The Ad Hoc Joint Committee on the appointment of board members to the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) started the process to consider the applications it received. To date 14 candidates have been shortlisted. But the Economic Freedom Fighters has called on parliament to put a stop to the appointment process calling it problematic. It says five of the shortlisted candidates were on the ANCYL's national executive committee, and some did not have a secondary school qualification. The party says the NYDA manages a budget of over R400m annually and should not be led by political party deployees. On the Forum @8 we look at the appointment process for the NYDA board members with Mlondi Mkhize - ANCYL National Spokesperson and Yusuf Cassim - DA member of parliament and Day Youth Leader
