Some of the country's universities are reportedly experiencing severe financial constraints and are struggling to keep their doors open. One such institution is Rhodes university. The slow payment of student fees, is the problem. Already, they have had to withhold the June results for about 1500 students, who owed substantial amounts of their fees. The university says instead of a 50 percent minimum initial payment at the beginning of the year, the students paid only 10 percent. Now the university is struggling to reach its target budget in order to keep afloat.
