In her latest article, the editor and founder of Vanguard Magazine, Panashe Chigumadzi notes what she says is a predictable trend of older black people in South Africa, blackmailing young black people by positioning themselves as "wise parents" to "misbehaving kids". She points a finger at parents and the generation of black intellectual and political leaders, for failing the youth, by choosing respectability politics and race transcendence over the pressing demands of decolonisation.
