When the Annual National Assessments were introduced in 2011, they were referred to as "a powerful tool of assessing the health of South Africa's education system. But now, Organised labour in the Basic Education sector, believes that the ANA in their current form, are not in the best interest of the learners or for the provision of quality education.The biggest teacher union SADTU, was quoted last week, declaring that its members will "never ever" administer the annual national assessment.
