A Sowetan article, quoted a study published in the African Journal for Physical, Health Education, Recreation and Dance, which shows that parents want special schools for pregnant girls. The study shows that some parents want expectant pupils to be dismissed from schools or to have special schools dedicated to them. With some parents even suggested that those schools should have dedicated nurses to attend to pregnant pupils. feel allowing pregnant pupils to attend school was a burden on teachers as it is not their duty to care for pregnant pupils.
