Chapter two of the constitution states that "there shall be freedom of thought, speech, expression and opinion, including a free press, which shall report and comment fairly and respect the right to reply." Freedom of speech and expression, which is entrenched in the South African constitution, relates to the liberty to hold opinions and to impart and or receive these as well as ideas and information to others in any form.
