Members of the Social Cohesion Committee in Durban, have brought a court interdict against Durban businessman Phumlani Mfeka, for circulating a cell phone message, alleging that South Africans of Indian origin in Durban, are racist. The South African Muslim Network, SAMNET, called an urgent meeting in Durban last night, to discuss what many call 'a growing anti-Indian sentiment' in the city. SAMNET says a dialogue is needed to better understand issues on the ground, and to prevent any outbreak of violence. They want to unpack these issues and look at the validity of them, with the intention of finding positive solutions. The court interdict against Phumlani Mfeka, was brought by KwaZulu Natal MECs Willies Mchunu and Ravi Pillay of the Social Cohesion Committee.
