Strike action is looming in the postal sector after employees received only half their salaries last Friday. It's been almost a year since the Post Office last experienced a protracted strike action. However, little to nothing has been done to get the South African Post Office in order. It's been unable to hold onto leadership. CEO Christopher Hlekane's contract was terminated last month following allegations of mismanagement of funds. The Post Office has been battling financial and labour problems. But government announced that it was moving to stabilise the Post Office despite SAPO owing almost R245m to more than 2 000 suppliers.
