The recently launched 2014 Employment Equity Report says the transformation pace in the workplace is slow, and that the country has a long way to go before the profile at the top of companies reflects the demographics of the country. For now, the top and senior management positions in South Africa are still dominated by white males. The Employment Equity Report calls on employers, to come up with a clear plan, that sets out steps they will follow, to achieve equitable representation of employees, from designated groups in the country. This, by means of affirmative action measures. The amended EE Act calls for substantive equality to remedy historical structural inequality.
