One of the cornerstones of the South African constitution, is an independent judiciary. Recently, we have seen some of the most vocal critics from the Tripartite Alliance, who accuses the judiciary of interference in the government's affairs. Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has requested a meeting with president Jacob Zuma to discuss what he terms repeated and unfounded criticism of the judiciary.
