This morning we're in conversation with Political commentator, Ebrahim Fakir. He has written an article, questioning why people seek rationalising explanations for white terror. This, after the massacre in June, when gunman Dylann Roof, walked inside a historic black church in Charleston in the USA, shot and killed nine people. There has since emerged competing narratives about what happened. Was the shooter a terrorist, or was he simply a lost and animus-filled individual who committed a once-off hate crime. Commentators say the answer depends in large part on whether one is black or white. Representatives of the victims did forgive Dylann Roof, but Ebrahim Fakir questions what informs the forgiveness.
