The South African Democratic Teachers Union - Sadtu, held its eighth national conference over the weekend. The union wants better wages for teachers, history to become a compulsory subject in schools, unity amongst its members and less focus on Annual National Assessments - Among other resolutions taken at the conference. Critics argue, the union has prioritised teachers over the needs of children in schools. On the Forum@8 this morning we ask : Is providing Education a priority for Sadtu?
