CLOCKWORK : BROKEN is a short, concise composition following the theme of an old clockwork that decicively structures time whilst getting messed up with clouds of memories of its own sound material.
Acoustically, CLOCKWORK : BROKEN consists of glass, all the sound material was recorded by the artists themselves. With an axe they systematically cut Christmas tree balls as well as mirrors and the complete stock of glasses from a former restaurant. Using three directional microphones they recorded the breaking, fall and impact of the glass on the ground.
HENRY KOCH (DE), composer and musician. Born 1960 in Dresden, studied 1982-1987 at HfM "Carl-Maria v. Weber" in Dresden composition, electronic music and clarinet. Freelanced since 1991, living and working in Rotterdam, London, Dresden, he settled in Berlin in 2003. Composing included solo-, chamber and orchestral pieces as well as electronic music; solowork as well as cooperations with various international artists and ensembles.
ANKE ECKARDT (DE), sound and media artist. Born in 1976 in Dresden, since 1994 she lives and works in Berlin. Since 2008 her work encompasses sculptures, installations as well as a theoretical discourse on the topic of the phenomenology of sounds. She presents her work internationally. For her sculptures and installations she uses sound (including ultrasound and infrasound) in combination with other media/materials such as moving light and water for building large-scale works of a rich metaphoric radiance.

This grant is awarded in co-operation with City of Dresden and, co-funded by ‘Culture Programme’ (2007-2013) in framework of European networking- and co-operation project ‘E.C.A.S. – Networking Tomoorows' Art For An Unknown Future’ (November 2010); November 2010: Exhibition of the Sound Sculpture ' !
