HEALED SERIES: BOUNDARIES
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2020
Emotionally healthy people accept the limits God has given them and are willing to build healthy boundaries to live within those limits.
Jesus is our chief example of what it means to have healthy emotional spirituality.
Mark 1:11 - Once Jesus knew His identity, He was equipped to create healthy boundaries.
We need boundaries to protect our identity.
You cannot live out your purpose if your identity is open for discussion.
Identity = Purpose = What is my heavenly Father saying about me?
Isaiah 49:16 boldly declares that our name is written in the palm of His hands.
Esther’s “God” name was Hadassah, meaning myrtle tree or “the people’s victory.” When taken captive she was given her Babylonian name, Esther, meaning “star”, but she never forgot her true identity.
How to restore and/or protect your Emotional Health:
1. Tell yourself the truth.
2. Seek help or support.
3. Develop healthy relationships.
Ephesians 4:15/25
Community Group Questions:
1. Do you have a fence (boundary) around your yard? Why or why not?
2. Do you ever think about what God calls you? Think of Esther of Gideon.
3. When you think of boundaries and identity, what area is your greatest struggle?
