Episode 6 is out. Check out the special instructions below. This is a sensitive, but informative show.

Welcome back to another episode of Strong Friend Check In!This week’s episode comes with a warning because the contents are pretty heavy. If this episode might be difficult for you, feel free to check out past episodes.—I’m joined by our Resident Therapist Ally J as we discuss suicde/suicdal ideation. With the recent losses of young, Black stars dying by suicde (Ian Alexander Jr. and Chelsie Kryst) the conversation is hitting closer to home. Ally and I dive into a few different topics including: The biggest misconceptions about suicde? * Is suicdal ideation a result of a chemical imbalance or environmental stressors? * Are there a way to “tell” if a loved one may be experiencing suic*dal thoughts? What are the ways/reasons signs might go unseen? * What ways can we support our loved ones? How can someone get the help they need? (Especially lower-income folks)
