In a statement, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that it’s a joint decision with the ECB to cancel the fifth Test and the two boards will work together to find a window to reschedule the game in the future. Earlier, the England and Wales Cricket Board also issued an official statement confirming the cancellation of the match. Due to fears of a further increase in the number of COVID cases inside the camp, India is regrettably unable to field a team.
