A day after the Indian men's team advanced to the Olympic semifinals for the first time in 49 years, the world number 9 women's team put in a phenomenally gritty performance to advance to the last four of the competition. India's drag-flicker Gurjit Kaur rose to the occasion when it counted, converting the team's only penalty corner in the 22nd minute to catch the Australians by surprise. The Rani Rampal-led side will play Argentina in the semifinal on Wednesday.
