This is part 2 of my series "Christians Say the Darndest Things - commonly mis-quoted scripture passages".   There are phrases and bits of wisdom that people use which aren’t in the bible or might be but are taken slightly or way out of context.  Although their intent is good, these phrases can be taken the wrong way by people who can be directed down the wrong path or turned off to faith in Christ.

My goal for this post is to spell out the intent of these phrases and clarify any undertones that may be confusing to some.  I will also give an alternate phrase that should be used in place of these “words of wisdom”.
