I loved cross country. I hated running. It's undoubtedly a weird combo. There were few races in which I didn't contemplate faking an injury, rolling off to the side, and watching the rest of the runners finish. Patrick was one of the reasons that I loved cross country. When we are going through something difficult (even if it is something as dumb as a cross country race), it is nice to have a friend by your side. Patrick was always there - his kindness and partnership will not ever be forgotten.
