That division was created from the acquisition of Virtual Growth Incorporated, the first ever web-based client accounting service, which Steve founded in 1995 in New York City’s Silicon Alley. Previous to Virtual Growth, Steve was CFO of Amnesty International USA, starting three weeks after U2, Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, Sting, and other friends completed the Human Rights Now! worldwide tour and grew 300%. Four years later he became Director of Development, raising $20M each year for three years. He learned how an enterprise accounting system at Ernst & Young where he spent another seven years building global management accounting systems as manager of accounting system design. His years at Amnesty International reinforced Steve’s life-long commitment to giving back to the community through charitable causes.
